I just got some dalite matte gray 0.8 gain material for a home built frame. I can't tell which side project on. One side seems very flat in color andthe other side is slightly darker but has a litlle sparkle (like reflection to it) Any one here worked with this stuff and have a clue. I already posted on the AVS DIY board but was looking for a faster response. I e mailed the company I bought it from but the aren't open tonight. Thanks for your help

Dr. Who, Do you know of a good interface between PC and the receiver. I have read that you can't use the speaker out.(I have a 5.1 systen on my computer also) Could I just connect that to the in on my receiver. I have a cheaper Denon 5.1 up stairs with my computer. It would be nice if I could do this since I have most of my CD.s on my hard drive and I also like using Real Rhapsody as a juke box up here. Then I wouldn't have to just listen to my little Altec Lansing's that came with the computer.

Avia has a disc for Audio and Video. Found all over. It include strips of colored plastic to match up with screen colors

I totaled it out twice and then spent 3 times what it is worth restoring it. I only drive it a little now. They are noisey and hot. Black on Black. If you are every over here Dr. Who you would be welcome to come hear the system. Nothing great just 4 fortes and academy and a SVS 12/2 ultra. (the sub rocks for an old man)

I just got done rotating it 180 degrees. Sounds a lot better now. Didn't get any rattle with the warble mode of the Avia. Thanks again

Thanks Dr. Who I'll give it a try. See what it looks like in there anyway. Then I'll try switching to the other cabinet before I buy a new driver. Hey I'll be in your neck of Illinois this weekend. My daughter has a swim meet there I think in Waubonsie Valley. Then she has a marching band competition at Lincoln -way. I guess I'll have to look to see where these places are. Thanks for your help

I tried your test, if I push the woofer in very evenly it doesn't make a scraping sound, If i take my index finger and gently push on the ring on the edge of the cone there is a sound like paper scraping paper. This is only from 4:00 o'clock on the speaker face to 11 o'clock on the face. If I do this from the 11:00 position to four position it doesn't make any sound. Also I can't think of anything that I would have done to the speaker. Maybe Master and Commander but only at 89 to 90 db. (The cannon balls sound pretty cool going front to back.) On one of my surround Forte II's I get a rattle like distortion when it goes to the lower frequencys on the Avia tester during the subwoofer set up. I don't notice it much during regular play. (probably since it doesn't go through the frequency) My crossover is at 100 hz since that is only what the receiver allows. I also took off the grill and if I just touch the outside edge of the woofer the rattling increases. Doesn't happen on any of my other three forte II's. I checked with parts at klipsch and the K-25k is no longer made. The replacement is the K28E about 127 bucks. If I replace it will there be any noticeable sound difference. Do I just bite the bullet and get the K 28E and stop whining.

I have the ultra/2. I don't know why you would need more. Are you puting a system in a warehouse or a satium? I shakes the whole house.

I have four Forte II's with an academy that Popbumper made a Kstack for. My sub is an SVS 12/2 ultra . The only way that I might improve is to add some more K stacks for the front forte II's. (The academy really sings) Planning on putting in a projector and a 92" diaganol screen. Some day I may want to add a couple of quartets for rear centers and go 7.1.

My academy doesn't sound exactly like my forte II's. My academy has a kstack. But it does sound good with them. I don't know how the c7 sounds, nver heard one with or without forte II's. If you like what it sounds like more power to ya. I don't think you can ever have a perfect match unless you use all the same speakers all around.

Mellow out brennan and have and Old Style. I've found very few beers that I didn't like. But I will agree with you, leave out the flavors in my coffee and my beer. Favorite to drink for a step up is Fosters. Drink mostly Bud Lite.

I have the 12+2 ultra. Bought a B stock model. They are right it is hugh!!!, I don't care since it is in my basement and not in the most used family room. As far as sound, Iv'e never heard a RSW 15. I like the sound of my SVS and it has more than enough power. The coffee table upstairs dances if I crank it up. Invest in a lot of double sided tape. Since I use four forte II's I wanted a sub that would dig deeper than the RSW 15. Just by the specs if I remember right the RSW rolls off about 25hz. The SVS will go below 20 hz pretty easy. Easy sales, delivery and support.

No it wasn't me. I just follow the academy's a little. I have a black one with a Kstack already. I don't need one until I go 7.1 and I might use two academys for surrounds do to size constraints.

The Quad Cities are running $3.00 on the Iowa side and $3.20 on the Illinios side. Illinios has a higher gas tax. Illinois side has a progressive tax and the Gov. wants to lower prices but doesn't say anything about cutting all the extra tax that the are collecting on it since increased in price. Tax is set as a percentage of price. State tax revenues are increasing big time.
