ranjith replied to Jay481985's topic in General Klipsch Info

Headphones, etc. for Walkman, I-Pod, etc.?
ranjith replied to DizRotus's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Neil, when I was in HS I had the same problem... breaking headphones all the time because I was careless, ive walked through the doors and the cord would get ripped getting caught on the handle, sat on them, etc etc. I bought a cheap sony for like $15 or so that lasted me almost 2yrs. It went through so much damage in gr.11 and 12 but always worked... probably not the best in quality, not even close! But it was quite reliable. I use a more expensive sony now, the MDREX71 its very nice. I hear the Sennheiser MX450 which goes for around $17 is very good for its price. -
Greyhounds are beautiful dogs, at the Beaches area in Toronto a crowd of Greyhound owners gather every weekend morning and let their dogs run around. They're very graceful runners, always have a blast watching them play around. I've never seen a greyhound at the Beaches that wasn't exploding with energy. I've always loved dogs, can't wait till the day I can finally own one. I've alwayed had a special liking for huskies and bernese mountain dogs.

Marvel, Congrats on those babies! Very very pretty looking, am sure you'll enjoy them for a longtime to come.

Downloading the episode as I write, 70% done... even CNN had a section on it. I can't wait to see what the hype is all about, will watch it right after my exam tonight!

Yeah that was a nano F. Well, I'm in a laptop based univ, and the default program for my EE class was Multisim. Being in a mechanical engineering course with specialization in mechatronics, this EE is just my beginners course since its only 2nd year. I believe we have more advanced classes in 3rd year such as Control Systems, Robotics and a few that get into the more fun part- applying the theory. What I found frustrating about my EE was that, I think we spent an hour so far this entire semester on how to use Multisim. The TA made a couple of very basic circuits, with resisters capacitors and inductors just as an example. But we were never told how to evaluate a circuit design by bringing up graphs of any function and such, I've been trying to learn using the Help function but its certainly not as easy as someone teaching or showing us how its done. With school exactly a month away from completion of this academic year I have no leisure time on my hands, but when the summer comes around I plan on getting myself acquainted with P-spice. I know we probably won't go into a lot of advanced EE in my major but its just part of my interest in electronics, especially audio. Eventually I'll understand what Al, Dean and Craig argue about all the time

I can very easily tell the difference between 128 and a 320, depending on one's setup the difference maybe faint or if you are fortunately enough to have a setup like rplace mentioned above then the difference is quite evident. FLAC is my choice of format though, pretty much as good as it gets without considering WAV. I'm considering getting a 250GB external HDD, and rip away!

Gil and Al, Thanks a bunch. That graph was pretty much exactly what I wanted to see, it gives me a better idea. I should learn to use Multisim or Pspice better. djk, thanks for the comparison. I've never used P-spice before so I was wondering, I found a student version for download online I'll go ahead an try it.

$275 shipped is a very nice deal as well. I've been reading about the Azur and the reviews are very good. Might consider one for myself later in the summer, so looking forward to your review after some extensive listening

If Gary lived close to me, I'd be on that Thorens so fast.

Need help constructing a possible 2 channel PC jukebox
ranjith replied to HeritageBob's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
hey bob, awesome idea! As for the soundcard, I hear that the higher end stuff from M-audio is wonderful for 2-channel. In the AVS Forums, theres a separate section for HTPC, many interesting threads there as well. -
Hello Gil, So this Pspice program, is it available anywhere for trial or as a limited-functioning edition? At school they give us a program called Multisim 7, its a very nice piece of software for when working with circuits. Very user friendly, has a load of features... we were only introduced to them recently, it'll be awhile before I find my around to doing everything right on it. Also has anyone used both, if yes which do you find is better?

I searched ( and it works now! phew) the forum, I found one posted awhile ago but the links are no longer active. Does anyone have the frequency response graph and other technical information on the KG2? Thanks Ranjith

Portable Music Players
ranjith replied to Champagne taste beer budget's topic in General Klipsch Info
Go to bestbuy.com for some ideas and under their portable audio devices, anything under your budget should work fine. Especially since you aren't very picky with the sound quality and the functions that are integrated into a unit, you shouldn't have a problem just picking up any under your budget. The ipod shuffle is about $69.99 for a 512MB unit, not too shabby or the 1GB one is just $30 more. Either that or any of Creative's lower end stuff is also very reliable. The Creative Zen Nano is about $69.99 for 512MB or $109.99 for 1GB. iRiver makes some very good mp3 players as well, you can find one in under $199 for a good one. I really like the iPod Nano as well, very sleek unit and has pretty much exactly what you need and goes for $149.99 for 1GB. Hope this helps for a start. Ranjith -
OH no no, I didn't mean to sound like I was trying to get an answer for an assignment or anything. My roomate and I were studying were for an exam we couldn't get the question I posted right so I was just looking for an explanation. But yes, I've got it figured out since I posted it yesterday. Thanks

anyone else notice this? I was pleasantly surprised, good job admin!

Isn't what he is doing illegal? Especially to put the Klipsch badge on his "custom Klipsch Cornerwall" with some Pioneer woofer.

I need help with a homework question rather, any help will be appreciated I've attached the little circuit diagram, the question was "Describe how the input impedance behaves at extremely low and high frequencies" edit: pic is more visible when enlarged

awesome torrent! thx scooter

I've heard that the 30th anniv edition is a good version.

Clarence, those are "passive radiators". They are similar to a speaker driver but they don't contain an electrically activated voice coil. They are used to tune small volumes to low frequencies, its an alternative to a port.

fini, thats ultra-cool! Doing my specialization in mechatronics/robotics I find these things to be extremely fascinating. And congrats to your daughter too. Wish we had better initiatives such as these competitions a lot more often and on a bigger scale. Not only is it just a competition, it really is a window to see tomorrow.
