I am thinking of getting one... Either a Pannasonic 4000 or an Epson 31000. Either that or a 65" Panasomic Plasma. I would reaaly like to see the PJ. But can't find them to look at in Buffalo.NY

Very nice HT cozy !! I am decideing between a 65" Panasonic plasma or a projector ( either the new Epson (around 3K) or the Panasonic 4000) Why did you switch... what difference in picturer quality ? Would you do it again ???

Room position: About mid-summer, Roy Delgado mentioned that having anything between the the Jubs really affects imaging performance (...he wasn't kidding, BTW). I now have the Jubs pulled out from the front wall about 16" and pulled inwards toward the center about 5" from the side walls. The space behind the Jubs is now filled with tapped-horn subs in each corner, which forms a false corner behind the Jubs. The side gaps are now filled with bass-trap panels. This forms the other side of a false corner, but provides a gap behind the back of the Jub bin in which the mouth of the subs can feed with the back of the Jubs and the side bass trap panels forming a kind of tapped-horn path extension. I used Audyssey to set up the delays and the levels only, not EQ. Note that I'm using active crossover for the Jubs and the center channel. The difference in imaging is like that between the living and the dead. How big is the sweet spot ? How far apart are the Jubs / listening distance from center ? I have a spot where they dissappear but if I even move my head too far to one side I hear more of that side. What center speaker are you using ?

How can you get a new model panny without 3D ? They all have it. You can watch 2 D with this right ?

Also I had some equipment plugged into some $10 "protectors" They blew also... along with whatever was plugged into them.

2nd Triplite... Had a lightening strike. blew up the tripplite ( it rattled ). Made a call nothing was damaged and they told me cut off the power cord and they will ship me a new unit. Great customer service

On topic.... Is there a 2" driver and horn that can be used with a Jubille as a two way system that does not need as much EQ as the K69 ( or EVDH1a) with the 402 ?

I had a problem with mine... When I played The Metalica Black CD at a loud level it skipped. I thought maybe the volume caused the laser to skip, but OPPO told me it could be the level on the played was being overloaded by the dynamics of the CD and to turn it down. ???

DeanG: Does anyone see the irony in PK wanting a bass bin that goes higher than the Klipschorn, and now that we have one -- it's being crossed at just over 400Hz. OK so how far up will the Jub bass bin go .... and still sound good.

First of all the Altec 19''s & most VOTT will certainly go to 20K.....and you will find that the 19's passive crossover has both low & high end frequency compensation built into it's design. This, plus other factors, is what gives the 19 it's unique sound. Cheers, John The compensation is minor.. not like what is required by the 402 K69 right ? So I guess what I am looking for is some combiation that would require very little compensation.

Every horn design will require different EQ for each driver, and all horns/drivers require EQ (whether or not you use it or not in your design). OK.... what about speakers like Altec Model 19's or VOTT ? They seem to have a simple network. Is it because they don't go 20 - 20k ?

So from what I have read here... the need for EQ is determined by the horn type ? A 402 or 510 you need to EQ any driver, some more, some less. The 2" Tractrix with the proper driver, like a EV DH1A would not need EQ The only difference would be disspersion. Could someone tell me what those differences would be. Would they show up more in a large room, small room ???? Fire away[li]

So will it go to the limit of the driver, on the high end ? DO you plan on running any test on this. I would really like to go back to passives... Trying to keep it simple.
