    The lounge.

3 fingers of Jack black over 2 ice cubes....and have the young blonde waitress in those cute shorts bring it over to the table!
  2. I too may be guilty of not thanking some folks here for their contributions especially regarding my LS hybrid speaker build. At the time I thought the information was community property and we were all sharing ideas. I can't begin to tell you who came up with the idea of using Altec horns and drivers for the top hat but I readily adopted your idea. I don't know who said Beyma "baby cheek" tweeters were really neat but I thought so too so I "borrowed" that suggestion as well. There was talk at the time about stiffening the side cabinet wall of the LS bass bin so ditto like a thief in the night I went for that option as well using 1" MDF. I am pretty sure that was before the LS ll debut. The only speaker system part I am sure of is the xover design that Al K. drew up for my particular situation and provided at no cost I might add. He was always credited in my system profile as was my bud bluesboy who put it all together. So for those of you who did all the home work that allowed me to have a very nice sounding speaker system I thank you! It may be old school by now but it still suits my needs.

  5. Ben friended me on FB so I hear from him there. He is still in the job market and having interviews. Thanks to Boxx for holding down the fort here. Mighty fine audio system you have assembled by the way. Cheers gents!
  6. Welcome to Audio Android....pull up a bar stool and lets talk beer!
  7. Thanks Steve....it was a long, dark road back and yes things are better. I asked Ben to let you know about my loss. You were one of only four here who knew why I was a no show at our virtual bar for so long Thanks for the beer and kind words my friend!
  8. Yeah Martin you should definitely get a warning point for leaving town in the midst of an active thread!
  9. Had to dig the Truetone AM Radio and Turntable out of the attic after reading Marty's story. Dusted it off and plugged it in and dialed in a station. A little hum but okay sound. The turntable does not seem to work upon first attempt. Then went to ebay and found a bunch of Truetones and Philcos for sale. My unit was sold by Western Auto whom I believe was owned by Sears. I am guessing these radios were mass produced and rebranded for many stores. I can see I could get very carried away collecting these babies....if only I had some tech skills! Thanks Marty!
  10. Welcome back Timmikid. Good to hear from you. Don't be a stranger
  11. Had to look for the bar......a little confusing.
  12. Is our virtual bar now "off topic"? Thought this part of the forum (General Discussion) indicated everything was on topic. First one on me if you can find your way here Gents!

  19. Very nice Schu. Is the mobile player functional?
  20. Thank you gentlemen! A couple of things I did not mention earlier. The sanding pads have a life of 50-60 discs and the foam polishing pads about twice that. The wash solution is distilled water with a concentrate cleaning agent added. The water pump for each machine must be primed prior to disc repair. The process for cleaning disc is very much like wet sanding metal. The first pass of the foam pad removes residual moisture and the final spin is for polishing the disc. The instruction manual suggest using a drop of polish placed in the twelve o'clock position. Not sure why the location makes a difference.
