  13. No expert here by any measure but I have heard a couple of belt drives that sounded great. An AR-ES1 from the 1980s and Thorens TD-160. Direct drives such as the Micro Seiki dd-40 (one on Audiogon now) (no affiliation) or high end Denons such as the DP-1200 or 1250 (which I own) can sound great as well. The Micro Seikis arm is suppose to be special. I have no experience at all with Technics. Did own a bottom of the line Pioneer PL-12D in the 70s with a Stanton cartridge with the cute little brush that swept the grime away before the stylus tracked through it. . Wonder what ever happend to it? The turntable I mean. Remember the Dust Bug?
  14. My best to Alea.....Ben. Fini you take care as well. One day we will all get together and slap some backs....till then cheers buds! Groomie.....massive amount of Jack Black here!
  15. Hi Ben, Winchester's father has kidney failure and not expected to recover. Please keep him in your thoughts as you have for us. Chuck
  16. Double date? 60s cornwalls are old fashion......they will need flowers and candy....but the payoff can be sweet[]
  17. Not shabby at all Bart. Four fingers of Jack Black on the rocks. Wishing Winchester best wishes. Call if you feel the need bud 910 395-0825.
  18. Very sorry buddy....been asking about you at our virtual bar. Glad you posted. I knew something was wrong for you to be away so long. Believe me I know well how you are feeling. Julia is in intensive care as I write and I am completely and totally devastated. I hope for the best possible outcome for you and your father....whatever that may be. Thoughts and prayers from here. Chuck
  19. Cheers gentlemen. Glad someone opened the bar. Congrats on the job Ace. Julia was at Duke for 27 days and now back in Wilmington in a rehab center to get her back on her feet. She is making a little progress every day and that is incouraging. I have spent the last four weekends at Duke as well as days in between so I am glad she is closer to home. Medicare and I bought her a lift chair that helps her get up and down. Kind of funny.....medicare paid for the motor and I paid for the recliner but it was good to get the help. Weary to the bone here so a little jack black on the rocks and an early night. Any of you guys heard from winchester?
  20. Fingers crossed here....good luck!
  21. Glad you're back....now do some posting...its been slow around here.
