I struggle with the words to say at times like this. Words seem so trite and phrases over used but its what we have. Will Rogers said something like "the death of any man diminishes me". Thats how I feel when I hear the death toll in Iraq every night on the evening news. All these fine young men and women lost or severely injured before their lives had started good. My generation heard the same thing every night from news anchors like Chet Huntley and David Brinkley or Howard K. Smith as they gave the casualty figures each night at the end of the news. The war was Viet Nam. The count did not stop until 1975 and by then the tally was 58,000. May the war come to an end with an outcome that serves well the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. My condolences to the family and friends of this young soilder. My thoughts are with you Tommyboy. Chuck

No its an FA3 part of the Award Series. Bought it on audiogon and did'nt get much information. Think its about 24 watts/channel....but oh the sound. I switch it out from time to time but my Quicksilver Horn Monos are part of my main system so the HK does'nt get much use. Could put another system together in an upstairs bedroom but it would get little use.

Welcome to the forum Ostepop......hang in there and someone will answer your questions. Congrats on the reciever. I have a HK from the 60s....a tubed reciever and I really like it. Buy some Klipsch and you won't need a lot of power....just a few watts. Chuck

Interesting thread. Just one question......why do people feel the need to kill all of them? They rattle to let you know they are present....you are in their territory. Why not just give them some room and move on?

A lot of good responses with very ambitious plans. How much did you really get done? I mowed the grass, edged, and took an ailing tomato specimen to the farmers supply for diagnosis. Bloom rot from insufficient calcium. Bought appropriate spray. Lunched at chick filet and headed home. Went back out for Italian for dinner to cook at home, made cocktails, harassed Bluesboy on the 2 channel forum and just cleaned a record and warmed up the tube amps and preamp. Other than the wife feeling poorly its been a good day. Hope yours went well.

The college world series starts at 7:00 pm. Point that Porsche south and come hang out with me and Bluesboy. We will have some cocktails, get Bluesboy to cook up some of his award winning ribs and watch the Heels wear out Oregon State.

Yard work, grilling, watching the Tarheels in the college world series, a lttle music. Is Meagain realy 66 years old? Bet the pilgrimage would be fun....may try it sometime.

The memorial service for nine fallen Charleston, SC firefighters was attended by representatives of fire and police departments from all over the US and Canada. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of all those american heroes. The average annual pay for firefighters here in Wilmington, NC is $25,000! Just this past tuesday night they came before the city council trying to get a pay increase. The answer was no. Shame Mayor Saffo and council.
