  1. I just got this disc the other day; Rory Gallagher Irish Tour cd on Buddha Records, it happens to be marked Original Master; recorded in 1974; Rory Gallagher can play a guitar, what a good set this is. It's been many years since I've heard Mr. Gallagher, but after listening to this, I will correct that.Backed by a three piece band, Rory steps out and lets it rip, Fenderbender here. I remember when he was considered an up and coming guitarist, mission accomplished .Of 10 songs on disc, he wrote 7, mainly staying in the blues vane that he does so well. Good band behind him, a really nice sounding disc, and Rory with great playing, good singing, well worth a listen. Rory may not be the Greatest Guitarist, but he can stand on the same stage with them, right beside them.Give this disc a listen, you won't be sorry. What do you think guys,(or gals)?
  2. POINT TAKEN; Pretty pricey $750-$1500. for a signed picture of Syd! Sell many of those to teenagers, or 20 year olds? How many available, a truck load, just what every teen wants, I'm sure they know the Syd story,Syd who?Thank you for letting the product age so it is Vintage, I'm impressed with the quality, and thanks for holding back all that free music for 30 or 40 years. Guess I got it all wrong, I'm sorry. Got to go, got a bite on my fishing pole. Boy, that new bait works really well! Peace Bro. "It's only Rock n' Roll"!!!
  3. Your so right about ticketslasher; so many hidden charges, ticket allocations, they put a hurt on ticket sales. My real question is why it took 30 to 40 years for this music to be heard? Doesn't the timing strike you as strange, that the age of the target group, falls between 35 to 60, a group with more money to spend, than teens, or 20 year olds? What 20 year old has $1000. to spend for an signed picture, or poster? Your right, I'm wrong, they have a right to sell that stuff, and it looks like good product, and I'm sure it is. No reason why people shouldn't listen and enjoy some Classic music, and if they choose to buy some T-shirts, or posters, that's cool. That's why fishermen put bait on their hooks!
  4. Are those things nice or what? Those are some beautiful speakers, someday, someday. Wouldn't those be HIGH-End? Kidding aside, beautiful, would be proud to own those!!
  5. www.cherryred.co.uk www.lemonrecrdings.co.uk E-mail infonet@cherryred.co.uk just found this on Rory Gallagher Irish Tour; this is a great sounding disc WWW.BuddhaRecords.com
  6. You don't know me, and I may be sticking my nose where it doesn't belong,(I have a bad habit of doing that), but Bob, the doctors do know what's best. I have been dealing with heart related problems for 12 years, and still have a hard time accepting the facts. Listen to the doctors, just because you don't feel anything, doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Why do you go to them if you aren't going to listen? Take care of yourself, you owe that to yourself and your family.Heart research has come along way in the past 20 years, and there is no reason to doubt your doctors. They do things today that were impossible 20 or 30 years ago.Be an old dog, not a stubborn old dog. Good Luck Sir!
  7. What have you become; one of those 40 to 60 year old High End buying old farts trying to recapture the past? How selfish, and Bose equipment to boot! Godzilla will hunt you down and crush your Vette with one big stomp! Good Luck with the Corvette, you will love it. I sold my 76 last fall, but if I ever get another it will be a C5 or newer.Much nicer than the old ones, like driving a go kart. Keep her between the lines, and wipe that smile off your face, mid life crisis indeed!!!
  8. There is nothing wrong with selling stuff, nothing at all, but those prices are very, shall I say Pricey. I might have been interested in alot of the pictures, but for those prices I could almost buy K-horns. Bill Graham was a giant in the concert BUSINESS, no doubt about it, but he was not afraid to make a buck either. It is not my intention to knock Bill Graham, but the people managing his affairs now, well that's another story. Why wait until now to let some of this music out, because now the people of the late 60's and early 70's have more money to spend? If one third of the listeners buys something, they make money. The music isn't really free, it's the come on to get people to spend, good idea, but I'm not buying it. What was the point of the post, to check it out, and sell us product, with free old Classic music as the bait? I though commerical posting was not allowed on this forum? Member selling members is one thing, but this is a commerical, no way around it.It's a free country and people can spend the way they see fit, nothing wrong with that. Just my point of view, doesn't make me right, just the way I feel about it. Just like the old days, just alot more expensive; Peace, Love, and VISA card!!
  9. HUH, What? NO you are correct, no doubt about it. In the 1960's into the 70's hearing protection was unheard of. Many workers suffered hearing damage that cannot ever repair itself. Thank God for OSHA, they made rules to protect the workers hearing, and generally made the work place safer for the American worker. We must protect ourselves from further loss, your right about that.

  11. Hey look another Dump in a Bag salesman; What is this forum coming to? I Sir speak for NO ONE but myself, and I take exception to your attitude towards the purchase of my new H2's. I bought new because I didn't want to chance E-bay,and chance being sorry for buying old, used speakers. Then you come on the forum, proclaiming that Heresy II's are garabage, Klipsch is Junk, made of cardboard, and of low quality, what are you thinking about? I waited along time, asked alot of questions, researched the product, and decided to buy new H2's, left overs actually, where were you then, no input from you, just cheap comments after the fact! Mark, come on guy, if I went on E-bay and did the same to you, you'd be pissed too. You are entitled to run a business, and run it the way you see fit, but to come on this forum, and spread that type of manure, give me a break. What did you think would happen, no one would respond, wrong, guess again. I don't want to waste any more of your time, but you just made me so glad I bought new, and didn't waste my money on E-bay. Who knows I might have bought your speakers!! oldbuckster; Robert E. Doane PS; I just looked at my post again after a good nights sleep, thought maybe I was wrong posting this, but I'm not wrong. Re-read your post, can you honestly say that was a proper post to put in this forum? If I went and posted that your product is garabage on E-bay, would you not be offended by that? You have a right to your opinion, as I do mine, it is just your choice of words that's offending, not your opinion. Good luck with your business.
  12. When I picked up my H2's, Audio Classics arranged a tour of the McIntosh Factory right down the road from them. I won't spend alot of time on this, but you could not ask for more polite or professional bunch of people than they have at McIntosh. CLASS act INDEED!!
  13. I am not a Bob Dylan fan, but he does hold a high place in music history. A great song writer, but, I find I like his songs done by other people. The Byrds made a career off Dylan songs, Jimi Hendrix, the Band, the Dead, an endless list of timeless songs, done by a wide range of performers. Whatever one thinks of Dylan, when he stepped on that stage at Newport, and plugged in that electric guitar, the music world changed on that day. That took alot of courage to do that, and music has been better off since, Long Live the Electric Guitar. The times they are a changin' , for sure, Thanks Bob!
  14. I realise it's 8 hours, how many hours from Italy to NYC? Just figured I'd give him an option, same thing your doing. We are both just trying to be Good neighbors to him and his bride. We Americans are good folks, they will already be in the Greatest City of the World, NYC, thought maybe they might enjoy the Falls, and a ride through a great state. Sorry, I will not answer this post again. Peace Bro.
  15. What's the opening bid on that? WOW that is amasing; Imagine Dark Side of the Moon on that bad boy!!!
  16. Full range recording; there is another post about basically that, it's a fairly recent post, it's on the forum, there are some charts there, two channel maybe
  17. Is that what he's asking about,or Digitally Remastered from Original Master Recordings? I'm not sure what he means, I know what you are saying, but I have many CD's that are now marked DRfOMR, especially the Stones on the abkco label, also Clapton, and others. Most any Remasters are redone on 24 bit machines, or does he want the Mobile Fidelity Series? The Abkco labeled in soft jacket cased Stones CD's are actually Hybrid SACD's with both a redbook and a SACD layers. Craig Craig; they are plastic jewel cases, and are not SCAD, I bought them back when I first purchased my CD player 94-95 maybe. They are standard CD's, back then even casettes were done on chrome tapes for abkco. I would NEVER dispute you on any thing audio, but I'm right about these discs. You are one of the most knowledgable members on the forum, but trust me on this. Most Stones CD's are of very good quality, and these discs are atleast 10 years old, if you look you can still find some.
  18. So let me see if I read you right; You are here because you got married? You will be on a honeymoon? If that is so you should take your bride to see Niagara Falls, world famous, drive there by car,and on the way back, stop at Audio Classics, in Vestal N.Y., do your deal for Heresy3's, and there you have it ,all done. You win all the way around, great honeymoon, you both get what you want.Niagara Falls N.Y. the honeymoon capital of the world what more can I say. Good Luck my friend, and have a long marriage, and great honeymoon!! You can call Audio Classics ahead of time, or E-mail them to see what they have. I tried to get through to Soundcity and couldn't either. Chow !!

  20. Good luck with the new zapper, just take it easy, and don't over do it! Your answer to Bob is correct, life itself is a wonderful gift, and you do what needs to be done to enjoy that gift. Every day you wake up IS a special day!!
  21. Jack Bruce played an old Gibson Eb3, I think, and played through tube amps. That gave him his murky sound. Listen to Spoonful from "Wheels Of Fire" Rock a few questions for you; Is there anything finer than an open string sound of a stand up Bass? What do think about fretless Basses? Hope I spell this right, Rickenboker Bass, nothing sounds like a Ric. I love the sound of the Bass, guys like Jack Bruce, Entwistle, Jaco (RIP), even Sting, just took it to a higher level. Not many bassist could actually move a guitarist out of the way and play lead the way these guys could. As much as I love the Electric Guitar, it's the bottom end that carries everything. Bass and drums, the heart and soul of a great band. It amases me that a 4 string use to be enough, but now you see more 5 and 6 strings being used, love that sound.Duck Dunn, Bill Wyman,Stanley Clarke, even John McVie, great bassist all. I have always felt that the Bass never got it's proper respect as an instrument, always taking a back seat to the Guitar, and even the drums. Good post! Maybe all those crows weren't Page fans but Bass fans waiting for you to hit an open E string for them!
  22. Thanx very interesting site for old dawg like me; Classic Rock, far out!!! OOOPS; Now that I looked at it somemore, Very Expensive to remember the old days, wicked prices to pay to recall my mis-spent youthful days. Though it was about music and such, but bottom line, they want your money. Bait you with Classic Music to sell you old posters , pictures, etc. Bill Graham still picking your pockets from the grave; NOT far out!!
  23. We all should be thankful for what we have Low end, Middle end, or High end, if we were Deaf, none of this would matter, would it?
  24. ...didn't mean to "dis" my pal LarryC...his are sweet too...but I have seen the lighter colored mahogany pics of his before...Oldbuckster...we need pics of the Heresys in mahogany...Bill I don't have a digital camera, or I would post the pictures, Garymd's is way,way darker than the 2's,I have walnut KG4's and they are a few shades lighter. They are basically a lighter shade with the grain being abit on the reddish shade, if that makes any sense. I really wanted walnut or black, but the only ones they had were Mahogany, so I took them, and I'm glad I did. They look more like Larryc's on the first page, except the grain is more on the reddish side, I just noticed his pictures, those babies are sweet. I have a hard time figuring out this newfangled computer, never mind figuring out how to take a picture with a camera that doesn't need film.Hell, I just realised that my CD player doesn't need a new needle to play the discs, or I don't have to rewind my DVD's when I'm done. Just an old dawg stuck in the seventies.
  25. Good article, great input, Good Job Colin, useful information as usual; Boy I've got to quit reading that sort of stuff, puts BAD ideas in my old mind!!!
