  1. I sent in for EAP but have not received this. [^o)] This is all I ever got: Mike, We have added your contact information to the OPPO BDP-83 e-mail notification list. You will be notified once more details about the OPPO BDP-83 are made available, including specifications, price, and release date. Best Regards,
  2. UHOH, not supposed to do that? Please tell me it's Ok, should I stop the drying cycle?
  3. a couple of pieces of tin foil (with hyper-gold alloy, unobtainium) on base bin and hf. This would allow you to stack and unstack without having to mess with wires.
  4. I don't think you can. But I can loan you what I have, a Phonics PAA 3. Not top notch in some people's opinion but has calibrated mic and real time read outs. Do a search and PM if interested. http://www.phonic.com/en/testers/paa3.html
  5. that was nice. I am not up on current musicians but that guy was pretty good. Nice engineering.
  6. Mark, you gonna keep us in suspense or let on what species the woodworker picked out for S/N L001-L00>? Also, could I get an over height measurment and minimum top clearance with open front and back rack, I need to start re-arranging.
  7. I am somewhat amazed at this post. What is the mental capacity and I'm not saying anything here but if the kid is old/smart/mentally astute enough (just looks like a little boy that wouldn't understand any of this at his age) to understand what is happening about a ballot stuffing then he fits right in with the hero worship of our 'professional' sports figures and their so called all star game this should not be started by or condoned by the parents. However, if dad and mom are having fun interacting with him and watching the results come in with encouragement, family time, and it gives him pleasure then great and by the way I just voted again and will so every day.
  8. Hi Roger.... Hi Roger! Hi Roger! Hi Roger! Hi Roger! Roger, Wilco and don't call me Shirley. Roger?
  9. DBX 4BX and 400XG $90, grabbed by my buddy first...but I think he's just gonna flip them. OK, he's out of work but I sure miss my 3BXIII. I'm not complaining, he gave me the $400 Belles.
  10. Ordered from the supermedia place, thanks.
  11. Hot d**N, a month early on the build! Way to go Mark, I gotta get busy with my VPI cleaner now.
  12. At one time I was listening to my olny CD player, a Sony 10 disc cartridge model. I had all my CD in the carts and had the jewell cases packed away. Now that I not use that player anymore I went to go reload the cds in the cases, yep, you got it that box is gone. So now I need about 100-150 jewell cases and some inserts (perhaps tray is the correct lingo). I would like to simply have band and album name on the spline and song list on the front. I would rather not screw around with Word or Adobe and print on normal paper. Hassle and paper too thin. Does anyone have a suggestion on source of cheeep jewell cases, freeware to print or perhaps used any of the Avery selection (they seem kinda high for inserts)?
  13. My 2 cents regarding Academy vs Quartet center with Chorus IIs. No contest, I have had a HT with Choruii and Quartets since Dolby PL in the 90's. I went from a Miller & Kreisel center to the Quartet (bought RS-7s in order to move the Quart to center) to the Academy. Ruling: Academy wins with all the electronics I have sent to it.
  14. Greg, let's try that email one more time....over to you.
  15. edit: Never mind My post seems to have gone the way of our economy so short and sweet...white RS-7 grill cleaning?
  16. Since we're on the subject, no not that one jb; I was in major haste to unwrap my RS-7's when I got them and had dirty hands. I had a slight discoloration on one grill cloth. I have never had the grill on th espeakers so it's not a problem to me BUT how would you suggest I clean them?
  17. Ahh, the good old days, stacked Chorus IIs and Quartets in a barracks room. Shared I might add with a roomie that had those 901 series ones. And I'll put my vote in with the others on the sub. Do not be leery of going with HSU (here's where you can save some budget), SVS and others instead of keeping a 'matched' set of brand.
  18. At the risk of showing my stupidity again, yes digital audio or RCA left and right
  19. I want it back NOW Mister. I can't sleep at night unless I get a little Marie. On second thought just send my C-28 back in it's place for I fear that you have fouled dear Marie (nah, not gonna mention Donnie) How's that!
  20. Listen to this guy, I will slip back under my rock now. Follow the above from toddvj.. Jeeese 2.1 and I went to all the trouble to look at the back of the unit for video input / output and didn't pay attention to anything else.
  21. Welcome to the money pit! I have no experience with the Klipsch RF line (except a little in the way of RS-7 surrounds). After 30+ years of audio tom foolery I have an opinion that you should spend your money on the best speakers you can get. That doesn't mean the most expensive, simply shop, shop, shop or rather listen, listen, listen and buy what you like to hear. Electronics in the HT world are constantly changing...more of this, better that, new and improved, yada yada. As you can see from my sig line I have Denon, had Sony ES, NAD and others. For what a 5308 or the Pioneer would cost I would bet you could get a very nice pre/pro and seperate amps (Emotiva and Outlaw have been mentioned on this site often and are reasonable). There are very smart people around these parts and can steer you straight. How about posting a couple of pics of the front, sides and rear of room. Also, where are you located? Shouldn't be hard to find a Klipsch-a-holic nearby to give you a sample. Good luck!
  22. I am not familiar with the CS700 but a few basic pointers: In order to get surround from receiver (or any source) you must use HDMI, coaxial digital or optical digital. HDMI allows video and audio over same cable In order to get HDTV you must use either component video or HDMI. If component is used then you need the audio patch (see above) HDMI latest version will allow 1080P and latest audio codecs to be transferred; at this point it's a mute point over anything but BluRay players. Settings to allow any of the above with the CS-700...sorry don't know but we could look it up in the manual if you are having problems.
