Yeah, I heard Aaron say the pretty much same thing in a recent TV interview. that's a tough call since the league is so much more QB friendly than it was before. Many QBs today wouldn't be successful if the rules were the same as they were in the days of bradshaw, stabler, and even montana. Before, CBs could do more to stop receivers and you could clobber a QB; now, if you look at a QB too long, it's a penalty.

Hi Ben, I pop my head in here every now and then to see who is around. Hope your trip to Minnesota went well. I'm a bit nervous these days. daughter number 3 is pregnant, due in six weeks. She's having some very serious problems and her doctor told her to start thinking about the answer to the question "you or the baby?" not a question anyone should have to answer let alone a 25 year old. she was very unimpressed with this doctor, so she made an appointment with her old doctor and goes tomorrow for a second opinion. just got done worrying about daughter number 2 as her husband had a cancerous kidney removed a couple of weeks ago. I think i worry more now that my kids are adults than i did when they were small. Steve

i agree, don't beat yourself up over this--you surely didn't mean to upset her. i've put my foot in my mouth on many occassions. Repeated a line that i saw on a Seinfeld episode one day at work. I made a crack about how hooks are cool instead of an arm. This guy got a bit upset and said, "my dad had a hook, he had his arm amputated below the shoulder. that's all i remember growing up, seeing this hook instead of an arm." i just looked at him and said, "i really don't know what to say now."

i'm not very tech savvy, so don't understand much of what you describe. as long as i know where to plug in the guitar and turn on the amp--i'm happy. i'm pretty lazy these days and when i listen to music, it's just itunes on the mac; and wearing headphones to keep peace with the neighbors.

You are completely missing the point - The football field is 120 yards long and if changed to 120 meters many existing football fields would require extensive and expensive renovations to fit the larger field into the stadium, or a complete demolition and rebuilding of the stadium. Why do this - just to satisfy people who can't convert yards to meters? why not just start saying the football fields are 109 meters and not rebuild them? However, I'm fine with our system and do not have a burning desire to change it just so that we can be like everyone else.

i hope the space program endures; but, the pessimist in me can't help but to realize that we've screwed up things down here in so many ways, why should we go anywhere else and screw that up too?
