  1. i'm dedicating my next one to you. enjoy your evening.
  2. ok, oldtimer...i put your premise through a scientific test. the moosehead still tasted good right out of the bottle.
  3. a co-worker went to a show the other night at the house of blues. it was actually more of an industry event as EV was there showing off their stuff. The bands that played were los lobos and twisted sister. got me thinking...do any big names bands use klipsch?
  4. oldtimer...i drink a lot of beer myself, makes me smarter. i'm confused today...drinking moosehead out of a red hook glass...still tastes good.
  5. he knows speakers and football? you're absolutely correct colter, and i sure hope the colts win. by the way, please disregard an earlier post under my name that predicted a ravens/eagles superbowl. i think someone was pretending to be me.
  6. me too! i don't know how many of us forum members are in the SoCal area; but, it would be nice to get everyone together sometime.
  7. colter--thank you. you're still the man!
  8. normally, i'd offer another option--moving to southern california; however, this past week hasn't been too warm here either. when i was in the coast guard, i was on an ice-breaking ship, so despite my current locale, i've experienced some bitter cold. hang in there.
  9. Synergy Sub-12. I just noticed that the power indicator light doesn't come on. I had an electrical problem at my house that caused a power surge (fried the oven and surge protector). TV, amp and components were saved. It is a bottom firing sub, I can reach my hand underneath and feel the vibration; however, i'm wondering if it's just from sitting next to the F3 speaker that is about one foot away (wood floors, raised foundation). if the amp in the subwoofer is fried, is it cheaper to repair it or buy a new sub? by any chance, is there a fuse or something in the sub that could have blown thus saving the amplifier?
  10. i know this is the wrong way to approach this problem; but, i can still hear the sound coming out of my klipsch...and it sounds good. of course, my wife thinks it's way to loud. i guess technology is advancing at a faster rate than my hearing loss.
  11. where do i find some guidelines regarding how big the listening area should be for each type of speaker? for example, a room should be atleast "x" size for LaScala's, etc...
  12. i heard the grand prize for the next pilgramige is a pair of tickets to a rap-opera. with your luck winning raffles, what are you going to do?
  13. i have a '99 chevy silverado--twice right after buying the truck, my fuel injectors clogged up. took it back to the dealer and they asked if i was using cheap gas. i said no, i was using chevron. they told me not to use chevroon and not to use super unleaded. i'm not a mechanic, so much of his explanation went over my head--i understood the don't use chevron part. i haven't used it since and haven't had a problem since. he said there was some issue with some additive they put in their gas and it only affected two years of the silverado engines.
  14. i'm looking out my office window now at the gas station--regular unleaded is $2.47 super is $2.63 SoCal
  15. thanks for the info...very helpful.
  16. i can't let this thread go on any longer without mentioning the greatest band of all time.......QUEEN! So many great songs. Saw them live in 1980. Incredible.
  17. MOOSEHEAD...the best beer on the face of the earth. trust me, i just finished six of them. good call. my suggestion--ditch the coors. i have a relative that is a former professional athlete, he and his teammates drank guiness (sp) . it is low in carbs and calories. personally, i can't stand the taste. at my daughters wedding reception, we had a keg of moosehead, a keg of guiness, a keg of michelob, and a keg of bud light. (i was opposed to buying bud lite, but gave in). good luck with the diet--if you need a dieting partner, give me a call.
  18. your welcome, coyote. and the sacrifices weren't all without reward. yes, i had to cut my hair and wear a uniform to work, and worry every four years where they would send me next; but, i always got to live by the beach!
  19. United States Coast Guard (Retired) Semper Paratus (or as we'd say "simply forgot us"
  20. know I'm butchering this up (I'm in a rush to go visit me grandpa in the hospital), doc--i hope your grandpa's doing better. best regards, steve
  21. not saying i disagree; but, would tim the toolman taylor agree with us? more power...arrrrrgggghhhh
  22. YOU KNOW, YOU'RE PROBABLY RIGHT. I SAID EARLIER THAT I PREDICTED BALTIMORE TO WIN THE SUPERBOWL, ALTHOUGH MY HEART WAS PULLING FOR INDY (FOR PEYTON MANNING.....AND KLIPSCH). TONY DUNGY IS A DEFENSIVE-MINDED COACH WHICH SURPRISES ME THAT PEOPLE ARE RUNNING ON THE COLTS AT WILL. WAS THE KC GAME A FLUKE--NOT FOR THE COACH (GREAT CAREER WITH TAMPA BAY). THIS SHOULD BE A REAL GOOD GAME, UNFORTUNATELY BALTIMORE'S OFFENSIVE ISN'T REAL POWERFUL, SO IF THE INDY DEFENSIVE PLAYS LIKE THEY DID AGAINST KC....WHO KNOWS. I REMAIN ON RECORD PREDICTING THE RAVENS BEATING THE EAGLES IN THE SUPERBOWL.
