  1. I guess once my hearing goes completely ... I can still post in the RTM thread; but I'll say "this album is so green." or "blue." It's all about the colors man. Good music is visible in living color ... or was that LSD? I keep forgetting.
  2. pretty sure it is eldEn. Although, legend has it that he is El don, aka The Don of South Mississippi. Maybe The Godfather was modeled after him? Who knows with guys that have legends.
  3. honestly, at this point, I'd probably buy based on what looks the coolest. My hearing ain't so hot .... you know that when the doctor is looking at the test results and looks up at you and says, "oh, I'm sorry." Soon, I won't be able to "hear" the difference amongst the various price points. Cool lighting ... that's where the true pleasure can be found. P.S. I'm a fan of blue and green lights.
  4. I do wish them both a happy birthday even though both of them have missed every single one of my birthday parties. wait ... I'VE missed all of my birthdays parties too. The three of us must know something about me.
  5. to the both of them ... many happy wishes.
  6. of which I'm a fan of. admittedly, I haven't eaten a steak in couple of years ... 2019 maybe.
  7. That's an interesting topic in itself ... microbreweries. I'm currently living (for a few more months) in the pathetic Pacific Northwest. This place is nuts with microbrews ... some are okay and some not so okay. But, the beer aisles in the stores are predominantly microbrews. I don't drink Michelob; but living most of my life in Los Angeles, it was a staple of the beer aisle. Not around here ... none of it. I do see Coors and Budweiser, and I can find stuff like Stella and Modelo. I've twice now, tried a microbrew based on name or packaging only ... bad move. I HATE and I repeat HATE fruity beer and it seems there is a surge of citrusy beers being created. My brother tells me that if you buy good beer you don't have to put fruit in it. I tend to agree with him.
  8. For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, that nobody can deny. Easier to write ... I play guitar not sing. And someone who only sings is NOT a musician (sorry almost everyone on American Idol ever .... note to self: why the need to create controversy? Loved an interview with Linda Perry where she was asked about American Idol (a show she doesn't watch) in which she said, "of course they can sing; but so what. Who cares if a person can sing?" reminds me of a friendly argument that I have with my bass playing buddy ... I tell him that the greater talent resides with the writer of the music NOT the performer. He, being a performer not a writer, disagrees. He says no show goes off without problem and he has to improvise during the show and that takes a great amount of talent. But, we weren't talking about talent or no talent, we were debating the greater talent and I contend that it takes more talent to write a song than it does to learn how to play a song already written. Someone help me by tying my treatise to Elden somehow. Does he sing? write music? Please don't tell me he's a dancer.

    GO RAIDERS!
  12. I agree. Not sure if it's possible to answer this question; but is receiving stolen goods (or whatever the proper legal term is) something that is aggressively prosecuted or does the body having jurisdiction leniently allow that the person was scammed? I realize that each case is unique; but in general, is the receiver of stolen goods viewed similarly to the actual thief? No, I'm not soliciting legal advice ... I'm too cynical to purchase from a white van or a private party most of the time.
  13. Hello @Woofers and Tweetershope you are well.
  14. This is a serious question to you college football fans. I like pro football and went to a college game (USC vs Hawaii); but I've never been a college ball "fan." I know some that love college football and hate the NFL. If that describes any of you, I'd love to know why? I asked one of my buds that fits that category and his reply was that the professional game is too predictable. I don't buy that, because there are more "dynasty" schools than dynasty pro franchises. For years, Notre Dame was a powerhouse, same with USC, Miami, Alabama. Now, I've seen some crazy point spreads in college football; but is it LESS predictable than the NFL? Oh yeah .... GO RAIDERS ... Las Vegas Raiders that is.
  15. Are we men or are we DEVO?

    YouTube TV.....

about $250 per month here for cable and high speed internet (300 mbps).
  17. I knew a guy that bought a sound system from the white van guys. He liked it. Well, I should say he defended his purchase; but that could have been a self-defense mechanism to minimize embarrassment. Neil ... did you use the word larceny because the deals are "too good to be true" thus likely stolen goods?
  18. If I had that skill set ... I'd do it for free. I'm not one to charge family or friends for helping them out. I was creating one for me once, the design was too complex for a beginner and I was SO frustrated with Adobe Illustrator (zero training, just trying to learn on my own)... I used CorelDraw decades ago and actually prefer that to Adobe; but speaking from a user-friendly experience. Someone that knows Adobe probably feels differently.
  19. George, keep it warm, I'm on my way. Will it still taste good after several thousands of miles of travel? I had a friend whose parents lived in Germany. They came to Los Angeles for a visit and as they drove down the road, they passed a popular hot dog chain called Weinerschitzel. His Mom was excited because she saw the word Schnitzel. He had to tell her that this wasn't the schnitzel that she thought it was. my brother enjoyed his time In Bitburg and I had a nephew that married a German gal and he went to live there for a couple of years. Not sure of the town.
  20. Very British is good ... I met the british actress Rhona Mitra several years ago after one of her premieres. She was kind enough to stop and chat for a few minutes ... okay, she was VERY attractive so that did create a king of the nerds meets the prom queen moment.

I just logged on a few minutes ago; but lightening fast for me. Now perhaps the member's are slow, I'm not exactly sure what you were getting at.
  24. Hi George ... you are correct, I love that album. Very well made. And if you're going to have a narrator on an album, you can't get much better than Richard Burton. I owe my liking of that album to my big brother ... he had it first. Just like I'm a fan of YES because of him too.
