  1. That centercap is a little disturbing though.....probably nothing wrong, but makes me wonder if there isn't more! Worth checking out if they're local!
  2. Fake here......but it was either setting up the system again this year, or the Tree! Kinda NO BRAINER........NO TREE! (lol) Not much room in a 14x60 trailer, and since I sold my house, the extra room is FULL of boxes.
  3. June 23rd??? I would love to make the trek to IN, and meet the GROUP! Let's see what the calendar says, and in the meantime, I'll be researching the info I need so I don't sound like a NEWB. If I plan this right, I can layover in Marion, OH(friends house) and leave out early next day.......700 miles one-way for me! AS HE THINKS OUT LOUD!
  4. African Mahogony.......amazing! Just when you thought you've seen it all! I've always had sweet spot for mahogony and black walnut
  5. Colter....U just saved me a GRAND Many thanks.....yeah, too much can create alot of cancellation and confusion.
  6. I was thinking along these lines....so let me know your thoughts: Use the Cornwall's as flankers and toe in 30 degrees (separated 15-20 ft apart, and 18" from wall) and hang the Forte's horizontal (1 foot from ceiling, 6" from wall). I would think the height would be phenomenal depending on you acoustical environment. Anything to improve imaging (testing, etc. as suggested earlier)
  7. Thank you Gil, as I MAY eventually convert to a SS system. Just doing my homework right now to decide what direction I need to go. Heck, I may even put (2) systems together........EVENTUALLY! My purse-strings are a bit tight at the moment, but probably best to take the pilrimage as time/funds permit, and see what options are available. I appreciate the feedback
  8. Let me ask again, so you are saying the Forte I or II is the best compliment to a set of Cornwall's? Should this be the consumate quad?[]
  9. 1967 427 Corvette Convertible. I really miss my Red Ryder BB gun. You'll shoot your eye out........o, and BTW, that 427 Vette Vert was a schweeeeeet car! Sorry about the off-topic, but couldn't resist the temptation
  10. I couldn't agree more........thank you, but I just would have thought since these are PREMIUM loudspeakers, kinda thought the alure would attract more people especially if they realize these units aren't MASS produced like the products overseas that are "assembly lined", "spec'd out" items. So many car audio (and probably HE and HT systems) that are bastardized overseas to cut costs. I suppose I am kinda funny about my audio gear. USA or European ONLY for HE. Talking strictly speakers, not integrated or component electronics. (lol) No, I won't lose sleep over it! You are correct in that so many people look at me w/strange curiousity when I speak of KLIPSCH. I get the same thing about my car. Thank you
  11. Carpet doesn't match the curtains........lmao Wonder how tonally accurate the are?
  12. I have the B-2 networks that had the HUGE gelcaps, and were replaced w/sonic caps, but I was a little dissappointed about the bass response (too much resistance), so I am sending them back to compare a set of networks (gel vs sonics). The squawker/tweeter resonance response was fantastic w/the new caps though. We'll see when they come back, but I lost significant bass/mid-bass response below approx 300hz. Sometimes these things happen, but maybe I may go back to gelcaps. Bob is going to let me know after he evaluates the (2) networks. Do you have the K51V midhorns also? Just curious.
  13. I just recently saw a Klipsch sound surround system in Best Buy and was astonished, but if they find there way into Walmart.....I'm done.[:'(] For marketing reasons, I suppose Klipsch is attempting to gain market share, especially since the hi-end retail/wholesale shops are being pushed out the door b/c of pricing schemes and volume (economies of scale). I truly miss the dedicated shops that offer nothing but hi-fi, state-of-the-art equipment. We have NONE around this area. (60 mile radius), and the one store DOES NOT have showroom availability. SPECIAL ORDER ONLY.
  14. I dearly love my Cornie's (1983), and liked them so much I spent part of my student load (college) to acquire them. Currently getting my B-2 xovers upgraded as we speak. Congrats on your purchase. Contact BEC, Bob Crites if you require the upgrade.
  15. Archive says release of information is confidential, but why would this pose a problem? As for as I know Klipsch is not Alpine or Pioneer w/production in the millions. I would have thought that actual production numbers would boost value if nothing else especially on specific models on the resale level. Not concerned w/generation breakdown, as this resembles the situation w/my car. 1505 Firehawks made in 2002 (less than 5000 in 11 year history), BUT WHO CARES about option codes which further reduces the availability (rarity). If I have struck a nerve, please be gentle, as I am sure there are very good reasons behind this logic. Can you confirm that the Heritage series are the LEAST ITEMS produced by Klipsch? Just curious, considering they do contain actual serial numbers. More reasons to make the Pilrimage......so many questions!
  16. O really.......WOW! Good thing I'm not in a position to acquire another set YET.
  17. "Caught like a deer in headlights".......1983 White Wedding, as I stand corrected. WTF was I playing at those receptions? (obviously not White Wedding) DOH! Yes, DJ'd sock hops, to disco, to wedding receptions, and even the VA FOP playing Al Martino and various selections from 1977 - 1979. SORRY about the statement, as I was dead wrong! Boy, I miss my CV(Cerwin Vega) equipment and should have kept it up, but record buying got very expensive after I got out of the military and w/college tuition, no way! I tell ya though, if I still had my equipment, I'd probably be tempted to return to the trade. GOOD MONEY!
  18. WOW......I understood every word! While I am by no means an HLCD expert, I do understand some of the fundamentals from my car audio experiences. I feel re-juvenated about getting back into home entertainment after 25 years. MUCH too learn! Thanks, and I must make the pilgrimage someday to either AR or IN. Sounds like an awesome experience.
  19. Thanks Bob, as I would have hoped; otherwise............well, you know what I was about to say (i.e. network specs)!
  20. OK, done the search.....no luck! We've established that the K51V mid-driver squawker (whatever), was introduced into the early 80's Cornwall's w/the same B-2 network. Now as I understand it, these drivers operate at a higher frequency than the K55M? Then why the same network, unless the differences are insignificant. Secondly, the original Klipsch marketing data sheet (1982) states that these units contain the K55M midrange driver and the network xovers have been established @ 600hz/6000hz. I'm no electrical engineer, so KISS please! Thanks
