Seti...don't know if you've dealt with their guy in awhile but he's had my Marantz 2245 that joshnich gave me for almost 3 yrs. One channel was out & this guy can't fix it. I've bought several parts he said he needed but alas. I need to pick it up & get it to Durham I suppose. I'm not taking sides here or demeaning anyone but here's a little info for ya on the Marantz... There's a lot of guys that won't work on them. The Marantz don't like to stay fixed. IF..yes IF I had a Marantz that needed worked on I'd search out a Marantz Guru to work on it. Find someone with full knowledge of the quirks and personalities of the Marantz systems. Simple issues aren't a problem but they do have some issues that require "the best". Harry

It's more than just possible it was damaged in shipping. They're fragile and the mag structure can be damaged in shipping. The seller is responsible for getting your product to you safely. Have him immediately file a claim with the shipper and get a refund. I doubt you'll recover shipping costs. It's pretty sad you have to pay UPS, USPS, and FEDEX extra insurance to do their job properly. Down side of ebay. Best wishes in your task taking care of it.

I've been doing electronics repairs and maintenance since the late '60s and I don't need a controlled environment or "Credible" unbiased proof to know what I can hear. The hearing's good btw. And I've still yet to hear of a computer or readout that can hear. I'm not being a smartarse but there's a point you trust your ears. It's probably why you chose the system you're listening to.

You fish your pole and I'll fish mine. Caps do have a burn in time. Some into the hundreds of hours. IC Cables take time to burn in also. Dangit, maybe it's time for me to get on my pulpit again. And I've been behaving. Harry

You gonna tell us what it was?

Your speakers aren't powered so that gives you a direction to start with. Low freq hums are usually due to lighting or interferrence from an electrical source outside of your system. Power Conditioner? A year or so ago I had my DeWalt cordless drill was creating a hum ONLY when it was charging. It ran me silly for a week or so until I inadvertantly ran across the problem when I had a low floor noise when I plugged my charger in.

How's the TT working out so far? I've been waiting to see what your impression is so far. Harry

Try a different receiver if possible. I wouldn't use FM as a test source. Congrats on the HIII purchase. They're my favorite of all the newer Klipsch products. Harry

Gilbert, You got the fight you wanted, got 'er to the boat where you would have released anyway. Pics are nice but memories last forever. And.....don't try that "landing" again. Try "lipping" next time. But watchout for the hooks. We've all done something we shouldn't have at one time or another.

Every pair of older LS I've owned have had the #s stamped into them. Only two pairs and a pair of BGs Speakerfritz owns now.

I had the same issue after a light switch was changed recently. ONLY ONE switch and it was easy to find due to the replacement. I pulled the switch, replaced with a quality switch, and NO more pop through the speakers. Harry
