  1. Very nice! I'm envious, I always wanted a pair of cornscala's. I can't wait to see the finished product.
  2. I know I'm a little behind the times but I Just wanted to comment that for us old f**ts this is a really good cd.
  3. I think you would find the Heresy's more rewarding. Although I have yet to hear a klipsch speaker that I did not like.
  4. We purchased a CR recommended kenmore and really liked it but it did not last. We bought a 6 month old Filter Queen canister off of ebay for <$500. Very reliable and quiet. Owned one in the 70's, still a great machine.
  5. Well I use to drive about 35000 miles a year and have tried quite a few different brands. My favorite by far has been Toyo. Of course they have different models and prices. They have been the quietest tires I have purchased and last a long time. Might not be what you are looking for right now but consider down the road.
  6. I bought a Hustler Fastrack used with about 35 hours on it for around 3500. Had it shipped from Alabama for about 300. I can't think of the dealer I bought it from but would highly recommend them. If you did a dealer search from their site I'm sure something would turn up. Hustler is the oldest Z.T. Mfg in the US. Good luck!
  7. Marshall, Nice work! I know that you and the Mrs. are happy. I remeber the first time I saw those and thought this guy is either nuts or one helluva cabinet maker. Come to find out you are both. Congrats and enjoy. I hope to hear them soon, tip back a cherry wheat and smoke a stogie with you. Enjoy!
  8. This has been about the busiest year of my adult life. Since I am 53 that says alot. Any way a very generous man out in the swamp took his precious time to help out somebody in need. I now have a very beautiful pair of reveneered Cornwalls that I can not get enough of visually and can't stop listening to. They are 79 vintage and have BEC Tweeters and updated and upgraded crossovers from Bob. They have new walnut veneer that is stained in a med to dark stain and are real nice eye candy. The only thing to make them perfect now is new grills. I now have them located in my bedroom with a vintage HH Scott LK-48 and they sound sweet. So far I have listened to them on an old Akai turntable and on direct tv XM and am so happy. I am however looking for a modestly priced CD Player. I wanted to thank this person for all the time and effort he put forth in this venture, but did not want to mention his name unless he approves. They are gorgeous and I love them. Thank you so very much, I could have not done it without you.
  9. I have a pair of Belles, Chorus II, KG4's, and the Cornwalls I purchased from you. I remember you really liked the Forte's. The Speakerlabs were the ones I was refering to.
  10. Hi Chris, I haven't seen a post from you for quite a while.Still have the bug I see. I can't answer your question but I was curious if you still have your corner horns? Paul
  11. Bob, I always like to see your Cornscala's. I sure would like to listen to them. Too bad about those Pyle drivers, or I would of had a pair.
  12. Now I feel really bad. All I have are Belles, Chorus II's, KG4's and someday soon my Cornwalls back and now they are they are going to sound like pooh! It's hard to keep up with the Jones. I am going to have to find some corners in my house so I's can get me some proper speakers. Whats a poor guy to do? Michael I know you wil enjoy them for a long time, congrats! I'm so envious but I am happy for you. I know they are going to knock your socks off. Steely Dan on Khorns now that's nice.
  13. Rick, The more I listen the more I like. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to hook them up to my Scott and see how they really sound.
  14. Greg, Those are some of the nicest speakers I have ever seen! If they sound as half as good as they look you would qualify for some of the best ever. I am truly impressed. I wish I had your woodworking skills. Now that's art!
  15. I have only been listening to these for a few hours today but I really like the mids in these. I am listening in 7 channel stereo with the Belles in front. The strong bass is also a nice compliment to them. They took the place of my Cornwalls which will end up doing duty in the masterbedroom with my tube amp when I get them back. Also when I get my C.W.'s back I want to do a side by side test. Only complaint is I wish they were walnut instead of oak. Oh well they do sound very nice, it's good to have the great room all Klipsch again.
  16. I picked one of these up recently. It needs new lights, and there is a little noise in the volume control. Other than that it sounds pretty decent. Has anybody here replaced the lights ? Is it very difficult?
  17. Cornwalls................... Very Nice!!... Enjoy.
  18. Well I have heard horror stories on the glass top stoves. My BIL had a bad experience with one. My preference is for a gas stove. They are cheaper to operate and I like to be able to see the flame no guessing. We currently own a maytag glass top and we enjoy it. It is easy to clean and visually appealing. The one thing I noticed the first time we used the oven was that it did not heat up the house like our old stove did. The only regret is the burner configuration we chose.
  19. My taste in music still favors classic rock, but now I ENJOY a wide range of music. Good is good no matter what flavor. I listen to a variety of stuff but never Rap. In my book that is not music. Light Jazz, Classical, Country, R&B, Blue Grass, Punk Rock (my youngest favorite) and Standards are all good. If it's good my ears tell me so. Way back in College I took a Music Appreciation class that really made me think about music and expanded my listening pleasure. My Grandmother played the Harmonica until she passed away at 96, one of my favorite aunts and her husband were in bands most of there adult lives. My older sister plays piano as does my sister in law. I played guitar when I was younger. I am open to new and still enjoy the old, I could listen every waking hour of the day. If I could just find a job that would pay me to do that I would have it made.
  20. Feel free to discuss Diana Krall anytime. I have owned From This Moment On for over a year and I love her voice. At first it did not get very much play time but the more I heard it the more I really really enjoyed it. I recently purchased her new Best Of and can't stop listening to it. It also has the DVD which is a nice bonus as she is very easy on the eyes. She is a wonderful piano player and she sounds sooo good on the Belles with tubes aglow. After seeing her on the DVD I was thinking that she was alot younger than what she is (43) still younger than me. Also I was surprised to learn that she was married to Elvis Costello. I just started searching for Stepping Out, I hope I can be as successful as you. Enjoy!
  21. I was at Bikeweek in Daytona yesterday and stopped at Julians restaurant and noticed some big speakers hanging on the wall. I inquired about them and was told that they were UPL's. Well curiosity got the best of me and I had to go look at them. JBL looks a little like UBL. Anyway these appeared to be really old JBL's that were mounted in the corner with the bottom of the speaker about 6 foot off the floor. They were bigger than Heresys but much smaller than Cornwalls. What are the benifits of having a speaker mounted that high on a wall? BTW they sounded pretty good.
