  1. Lucky the big fella did not charge, I have seen what one can do to a car in Sweden. [:|]
  2. I think the question would have to be rephrased for me to what don´t you listen to. At this point in time I cannot think of a gender I do not dabble into depending on mood. EDIT: Ok thought of one, anything from Yoko Ono...
  3. I would be one for the Focal crowd, great sounding and prices starting at around 250 for lower models and go up well over 5,500 If they are 6" x 9" I would suggest the PC 690, not the deep bass but very clean and they also live in the mids and high region, combined with a good sub you gots you a rocker!!!
  4. I am willing to bet that tke Klipsch forums will still be the same and Amy will still be the forums admin! And they will still have Cable threads!!!
  5. Here is a link to a supplier, for normal bottles it is around 1€ a piece ($1.33) I think they deliver to the states as well. http://www.systempack.de/flaschenkatalog-shop_eng.html I like the old bottles as well, easier to open, look cool and keeps the pesky wasps out of your beer. Edit: just a thought, if he were willing to pay shipping and what I pay for deposit (around 8 bucks) I could send a few cases. A case is 24 bottles and weighs around 10 lbs. I could probably rinse out the bottles wrap in paper and then back into the case and package the case.
  6. Nice weather coming here in Germany, found a nice summer beer very smooth and silky texture with a very mild hops taste. It is a beer wich is not filtered so you get a nice yeast taste on the abgang. Come on over I got a few cases of this, it is nice to be in a country where good beer is cheep!!
  7. 2x500 gramm, 3 weeks aged Rib eye which will go onto the grill this evening.
  8. Mabie you could get free BBQ if you told them you were writing a book!! Then you only need gas money, time is relative!!
  9. ahm what was this thread about again?? For some reason I cannot concentrate on the topic...
  10. Optical cables can go "bad", most of the time it is the glue which holds the fiber optic to the connector. Normally this only comes from mechanical strain and I dont think you go jerking around on them. Mabie attach a strain relief to keep from happening again??
  11. Welcome, I agree with what SuBXeRo says although you will need a C2 or C3. I have a C3 but many say the C2 is just as good. I think any in celing like the CDT 2650 would work. B2´s would also work well if the space would be there.
  12. The way things should be but rarely is in business. This is the way it should be in life in general!!! Yet rarely is.[Y]
  13. Thanks for me being able to bounce this off your more knowledgable head. I am more of a hands on LFP Printer repair tech who slipped into the software so my hardware savvy is under paar. To the work flow. The file sizes vary depending on what is being printed and how big, the producers have learned early to try to keep the file sizes low due to this exact problem of RIP times. Of course the more layers and the more complex the file the longer it takes (less so now with the Adobe APPE for PDF). Let´s say to get a good output depending on design you are haveing files starting at 30-35 MB. But for RIP´s it is not the data size which is important it is the complexity, how many color transfers, are the colors in gamut (gamut mapping) how many layers, smooth shades etc. This is what hits the proc and only with really really big complex files does it start to swap to the HDD. After RIPing it gets pushed to the print queue and that is when it gets real slow because the speed comes from the printer. That is why many of the very large printers have their own front end and do not need our rip hence the Print to file. The other printers are connected either over usb2 or tcp/ip and that is the bottle neck of the system because they have a limited internal memory (if any) and we push, they print, purge then we push again. At for production of speeds of 20m² and hour this takes a while. I will bounce your idea around here with dev and see what they think, once again thanks for the input! Next time you are in Germany I will invite you for a cold one!!!
  14. My favorite was always Curley over Moe and Larry, that guy was just hallarious!!!
  15. Were can we vote? You would get mine for the change!!
  16. We did a fast calculation and the developers dont think we would be winning much on the rip side, the archiving is itting the hard disk more than the ripping. We would be gaining around in total 5% at the most. I still want to try this though because some of the larg throuput printers are being printed to file so this would bring a large plus. An example for a full color banner which is 2 meter 50 by 5 meter is RIP speed: 798.97 m²/h and Print speed: 89.12 m²/h. This is printing to a "fast" hard disk so I think these printers would benifit greatly from a SSD.
  17. Thanks for the tips!! I will see if I can get my hands on one, even if it comes out of my pocket first. I will keep you informed!!!
  18. That is why the SSD´s interested me. Althought the processor is hit medium hard with our programm the writing to disk back and fourth is what takes up more time. "RIPing" a >100GB file takes its time and anything we can do to speed this up would be welcomed buy many, might just have to buy one to see if the performance can be increased with our usage.
  19. We "are" the RIP, this is getting images processed for printers of all kinds. There are different ways to do this (JAWS, APPE for vector) but in the end it has to be "flattened" down to a format the printer can understand. The people using this are LFP, Screen /Flexo/Tampon and on the screen side we are starting new technologies. What would you be needing this for? www.ColorGATE.com Take a look and if you see something that could be adapted for your needs pm me.
  20. Obviously, SIR, you have lost your taste buds and are a complete idot!! Beer is the nectar of the Gods (insert one of your choice). Now, when I look up the word pernicious and know what that means I will comment further.[]
  21. I have been thinking about this for a RIP (Raster Image prossing) computer.Im a service tech in a software company that Develops RIPs the only concern we have is the EOL for the SSD´s. There is a lot of number crunching going on and time is money. What is the general concensus of how long they live? A little bit steep if you have to change every year or 2.
  22. Get outa here, that is the exact same cable I am using (self made) and they were suggested to me from a guy I know who installs studios (one of them was Peppermint Park here in Hannover from Mousse T). Never knew I was an esotericy kinda guy, I will start describing my cabels like this it sounds better. I will admit those do look better though!!
  23. Beautifull Dog Boxx great looking sheen on their coat!!!
