  1. If you can solder, the Hagerman Piccolo is a great option also. That's what I'm using with my AT 33PTG. You have more loading and gain options that you can change on the fly.
  2. Mine is a stand alone that connects between the between the turntable and phono stage. All you need is an extra pair of short cables. It isn't the one I linked to, but very similar.

  4. I've heard nothing but greatness about the Amadeus GT. Let us know how the golf ball sounds
  5. I bought a Clearaudio Smart Matrix for $500 on A'gon. Great Machine, highly recommended here.
  6. I have some of their speaker cables that I found on eBay a couple years ago for a descent price. They work good for me, but I have a tough time hearing much difference in cables.
  7. I'm using them in my VRD-st and top to bottom they're better than the Valve Arts they replaced. edit: sorry, I'm using the KT88s. It would help if I could read[:$]
  8. I have experience with the Hafler and Yamaha M-80. These were used with a pair of JBL L-300 speakers, and the Yamaha was better in my opinion.
  9. 1/10 of a mm seems a little extreme. As long as you can set the overhang with your cartridge, you should be fine. The slots in the headshell should make up for any small error. Or like my SME that adjusts by moving the whole arm fore and aft to set the proper overhang.
  10. I found my Bronze to sound more detailed in the upper frequencies than my ZU 103r and my Ebony/potted 103r. The koetsu Black outperforms them all in overall balance.
  11. That's a nice amp you bought. It runs in class A for the first ten watts, which you'll probably never exceed.
  12. I've heard the Black is probably the best MM cartridge out there. They say it's much better than the Bronze, and if that's the case it must be great! The bronze has the reputation of being bright and light. Mine definitely doesn't fit that description. It was smooth out of the box with mucho detail and soundstage. You'll be very happy with the Black.
  13. I installed the SME 345 with an Ortofon 2M Bronze.
  14. Chris, I have a plexiglass template that came with my Jelco, if you need to borrow it.
  15. Fini, Jim Campbell is going to offer a motor rebuild kit with sintered bronze bushings, ball bearing, felt disks, nuts and bolts, and a drill bit for removing the rivets. He said this will be around $100. They were supposed to be available last week, but he's waiting on his machinest.
  16. Look's like you have about 1200 watts of headroom there jwc []
  17. The Luxman's sold, I didn't think it would last long.
  18. There's a Luxman on Audiogon now for $125, which is a pretty good deal, and it looks nice to boot. I'd put a link up, but for some reason I lost that function here.
  19. I have a Trends amp and it sounds great. In fact I'm tempted to switch to it for the summer. My stereo VRD is a little warm in the desert this time of the year.
  20. I gotta be honest with ya Thebes, I agree.
