  1. Those Cherry Heresey's are uh...CHERRY!! Fantastic work!
  2. I've been sitting here laughing my *** off. I found this person on Ebay too. Check this out. Apparently this is for sale: http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/auc.pl?accstwek&1203742294 But someone with the exact same screenname bought this on eBay 2-18-08: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300123793708 I can't help but laugh. I seriously hope people aren't buying any of it.

I enjoyed it too. I was in a bit of awe over the sheer size of the heat shield.
  4. I took this one, I forgot to remove the dust before posting, but oh well. As you can see, I have a thing with Klipsch's tweeters.
  5. Actually, I'm EXTREMELY happy with them. Though keep in mind that My OLD system was all Polk speakers (S8s, CS-250-s, S4s) which sounded OK, but didn't have the impact that my new system does. I was actually most impressed with the sound in stereo mode. Sometimes I like to "crank it up" and those Polks just couldn't handle the watts. There was a point on the volume nob where the output didn't get any louder, I'd turn up the volume and the sound only got worse (distorted tweeter & woofer). But, with these Klipsch, I keep turning up the volume and the volume actually keeps getting louder! I can completely fill the entire house with sound with just the RF-62s in stereo mode with the sub turned on. The other thing I noticed is that I can now hear subtle details in music I only heard at my friend's house (He's got the Forte IIs). That was the biggest thing for me. (For instance, guitar strings, you can hear the fingers touching them and not just the sound of the string after it's strummed) I actually believe I get my money's worth in the music I buy now because I can actually hear everything. Those Polks had crystally highs with my Integra receiver, but something was always missing and I could never put my finger on it until I got Klipsch. I'll NEVER look back now!! I think I actually got my money's worth on the receiver now. However there is one negative to having that much detail, these speakers will reveal ANY AND ALL FLAWS in the recording...ACCURATELY!! Moves are even better now because I have that many more speakers pushing out details I didn't hear before. Every movie I re-watch is a renewed experience. Just be careful using high volume levels. If you overdrive your amplifier the speakers will tell you because the distortion & clipping will be reproduced VERY ACCURATELY. Although I've never heard my Integra Clip before. I love that receiver.... I have only one quam right now, during movies I have to use the "Cinema Filter" because the trebel can get a bit bright when I'm watching movies at a "reference level" which is how I like to watch my movies. But I think that's more the receiver. I'm assuming Integra installed a "Cinema Filter" for a reason... I reviewed the RF-62s here(I'm the only review right now so give it a read): http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/floorstanding-speakers/PRD_408509_1594crx.aspx My RC-52 review: http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/center-channels/PRD_408569_2743crx.aspx My RS-42 review: http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/surround-speakers/PRD_408570_2742crx.aspx I'm gonna do up an RW-12d review soon but I'm still auditioning this sub in the home considering I just got my hands on it not 3 weeks ago I gave all my speakers very high marks because everything I've heard in the store and in people's homes have NOT compared in the least. Well maybe the Forte II's but they're so wide I haven't really considered them.
  6. You know, I've never heard of Klipsch being used as monitors in the studio either. We tried it for a week to see what the impact would be. (I think we were bored and felt like experimenting) LMAO I use the same technique as you. Studio ---> then to the car stereo--> finally the home stereo. If it can pass the last 2 tests, I'm happy - and then listen to it in the car on the way back to work the next day just to make sure. heh heh
  7. Oh yes, I changed the password. But hey, passwords can be hacked too! OBVIOUSLY there isn't any "PERFECT" LAN security out there, but many layers of security is more helpful than non at all (like turning off your SSID broadcast will deter MOST "average" users from finding your wifi connection altogether). Also, I can safely say that most of the people who live around me don't know the definition of MAC address spoofing (I live a low income area they call "da hood"). I'm not really worred about someone spoofing my MAC address here. So saying it's easy, well that's your perception (which is great for you), but most of the general public would disagree with your statement that it's "easy". But I agree with what you are saying in general, the security measures can be circumvented if the right person is doing the dirty work. But that's the way with most things - my car, house & place of work included... So I stick by my statement that breaking into my network is "highly unlikely" but I'll add it's also "not impossible".
  8. Well I can't tell you how they sound but I have a suggestion. Get a sealed enclosure or monitors with front firing ports. Rear firing ports could give an unnatural, delayed/reflective sound in the low end which you don't want when you're mixing. This is unless your room is setup with sound dampening of course. I have a pair of RB-61's (they have front firing ports). They'd probably make a half way decent studio monitor. But my experience tells me that the Klipsch is SOOO accurate, you might have problems with the final master being played on NON Klipsch speakers. Klipsch speaks can take so much punishment (both in frequency response and dynamic response), you might not realize that your music will probably overdrive most other speakers. This is just from my personal experience. I mixed a couple times on Klipsch, brought the mix home and my old Polks would crap out on the bass and treble every time... Because, I mixed the music for the Klipsch, not any ole speaker. I like to mix on a crappy set of KLH, JBL, or Yamaha, then jam the final master on the Klipsch. []
  9. I haven't seen anything interesting either. Just product announcements... I'll review them for ya as soon as Klipsch sends me my Custom 3 production sample... [] Still waiting....... heh heh
  10. My biggest quam about rear projection when I was shopping was the field of view. The Plasma and LCD's on average had a wider viewing angle which allowed me to pack my living-room with friends on movie night and everybody could get an equal view of the tv. Size was another consideration. I live in a small place. The rear projections were deeper, took up more room and I couldn’t hang them on the wall if I ever decided I wanted to. After that, I had to decide between Plasma and LCD. I picked Plasma. Hope that helped at least a little.
  11. Oh sure, they're here...somewhere... [:^)] Uh oh, now I have to tell you about MY first Klipsch experience, it was at a friend’s house MANY MANY YEARS AGO. I think I was 12 years old. Her dad had a pair of what I now believe to be Heresy's (now that I think back, they had those wedge like stands which makes me believe they were Klipsch) They were plugged into this MASSIVE receiver (you know the wide suckers with the analog watt/db meters). We would crank the bass and treble ALL THE WAY UP and Jam those speakers. Now that I think back, we were throwing a LOT of watts at those speakers and they didn't blink. Sounded way better than my other friend's parent's Ohm speakers. [8-)] Later on in life I had another friend who owned his own set of KG-2s plugged into a big ole Kenwood (similar to the older one I used when I was young). That sounded VERY nice. Then he upgraded to Forte IIs and the Integra DTR-7. That hooked me for good. Oh crap I'm off topic now.. [:$]
  12. oh my. You are right, I've never looked at the personals section.. Heck, I didn't even know Ebay had an adult section until my roommate showed me the "toys" selection. LMAO
  13. Did you mean the RF-52 and not the F-52? I would assume since the RF-52 and the RF-62 utilize the same materials in construction (identical tweeters too), the differences in sound should be negligible. You'd gain some overhead as far as power goes (More output potential due to the larger woofers) The bass goes a tad deeper too on the 62s. I'm currently using the RF-62 mains with the RC-52 center. They blend extremely well together.
  14. Mmmmm. A cup of joe and a smokie treat. YUM! Now THAT brings back memories of hanging out in the restaurant for hours on end with friends, smokin' the place up. heh heh
  15. The answer you want: Get the Polk so everything sounds the same. The answer you don't want: Pitch all your Polks and go klipsch all around. That's what I did. My last system consisted of Polk S-8's, CS-250-S, S-4s and a Klipsch KSW-12. It was a good SOUNDING setup. Blended well, but farted out when I turned up the volume. My Klipsch setup doesn't fart out. I blew a woofer on one of the S-8's so I changed out everything for Klipsch. I'll never look back...
  16. That's what I bought. I moved my KSW-12 upstairs and replaced it with the RW-12d. I LOVE IT! It's a bit smoother sounding(not so punchy). Slightly deeper. I LOVE the presets so I can switch between music and theater. Do you like your new sub?
  17. There is such a gray area between what's "Legal" and what's "Ethical" these days. I TRY NOT to interchange the words(as many people do), as they have completely different meanings. I'd have to say that a Wifi connection that's considered "PUBLIC" shouldn't have any legal or Ethical repercussions. If it's advertised as PUBLIC (which gives you permission to use it), then it's Public, like the library or the police station. It's PUBLIC. I don't know how one can steal something that's advertised as free for everyone's use. However if they have a policy that only CUSTOMERS can use it, then it's "unethical" but not necessarally illegal because it's all up to the laws in your area and the PEOPLE WHO INTERPRET THEM. However, I AM guilty in the past of using someone's "private" wifi connection when I didn't have internet access available at the time. Yes it's stealing which is "unethical". But is it illegal? Well, that depends on where you live and how you finagle the terminology. If I simply call it "interference testing before I buy my own" then suddently it's not illegal, but it's still probably unethical because I don't have permission to use it. Anyways, to combat MY security issues I use MAC address filtering(best line of defense) and WPA security on my WIFI router. Nobody is getting in there unless they hijack one of my MAC addresses + crack the encryption, or find a way to physically plug into it which is highly unlikely. Unfortunately these days, it's up to the owner of the connection to watch their own "assets". Most people aren't going to IGNORE your open wifi connection because it's "unethical OR illegal" to be using it. That's not realistic these days because many people aren't that honest and some of us have an excuse for what we do. It's a SAD truth. I "locked-down" my WIFI for fear of someone using my it to download illegal media/software. If the IP address gets tracked, it'll get tracked back to ME, not my wifi connection. And I have no way to prove that it wasn't me download it. I have to watch out for my own interests. Babbling done! []
  18. I'd need like 8 studs in my wall to hang that thing.
  19. I quit many times in the past. After a couple months I'd just start back up because I was in a bar drinking with friends and was dying for a cigarette.. I don't know why booze makes me wanna smoke but it does and it SUCKS! I realized that I had to quit drinking casually to quit smoking. I quit smoking July 21st 2006 and haven't looked back. I don't drink anymore either which has helped PLENTY!! Another tip, if your friends smoke cigs, it might be easier for you to quit if you don't hang with them for a while. Smoking is an addiction and being around it doesn't necessarally help. I had a better time when I DIDN'T smell cigarettes. I LOVE/HATE and smell of a burning cigarette. Now I'm battling my eating habits because I regained my appetite and food tastes better now as well. I smoked for 14 years so anybody can do it, you HAVE TO WANT TO QUIT OR IT WON'T WORK! GOOD LUCK TO ANYBODY WHO IS TRYING. I GIVE SERIOUS PROPS TO ANYBODY WHO WILL AT LEAST TRY!
  20. Naa it's not grilled cheese. You won't get anything for that.. JOKING OF COURSE.....
  21. I hear bad reviews of the F-3's as well. I demod them (F-3) in the store and found them to be better than anything else that was on the shelf at the time.(compared to JBL, Bose, Sony, KLH, bleh) But there was something missing. There was no backbone to the sound. The bass was lacking and that good ole Klipsch "KICK" was completely gone! However, they DID have the F-3's plugged into the cheapest receiver money can buy which COULD be why some people don't give them very good reviews. In my opinion, I consider Synergy to be a "VALUE LINE" speaker, it would make sense that in the VALUE LINE store, the speakers are placed in an untested "jury-rigged" listening area and plugged into a VALUE LINE receiver which is also hooked up to a VALUE LINE CD/DVD player... Also, I've NEVER heard a Synergy speaker plugged into anything but a low end Pioneer or Sony. I think that may be why I opted for the Reference speakers, they were plugged into higher-end equipment and they sounded completely different. But I'm not going to buy both and put them in my listening room so I can hear the difference. I don't have that kind of money. lol I feel that the F-3's would probably have sounded WONDERFUL plugged into my Integra. But I got a deal on the Reference setup and I'm very happy with it.
  22. I wish I knew someone who owned a set of those. I get nothing but good comments about the RF-7. My friends are into the Heritage line. Good stuff!!
  23. The price is sure nice(400 bucks wow!). I don't have a whole lot of experience with Craigslist, but I AM a bit suprised they let you post with an "efenheimer" on their website without repercussions. Then again, I've never posted there so what do I know!!?? Makes me wonder how much someone can actually get away with on Craigslist.
  24. No biggie, they simply added that one extra "h" where it shouldn't be. Should be spelled "AudioPILES"... (of garbage) [] Please don't hate me!! I heard a pair of 701s before. They weren't COMPLETELY unrespectable sounding. However for the price, I expected more. But I'm still die hard Klipsch head. Guilty as charged!!
