  1. After a couple hours work, my CF-3 crossovers are updated with Solen caps on the high frequency side and Dayton 5% poly caps on the low side. Also, Mills 12 watt 1% resistors replaced the original ones and the 1-ohm resistor across the HF circuit removed which, apparently, makes them closer to the version 1 crossovers. The speakers have been playing for awhile at low volume as not everyone likes it as loud as I do it seems. But my wife spent a week in the hospital and had surgery this past Monday so she's not quite ready for jam time. Next step will be to extend the ports and put some "Fat Mat" on the horns and woofer frame which will probably be as far as I care to go. As soon as my KLF-30's make it here from Austin, TX next month, the process will start over again but I'll most likely change out the Poly diaphragms out for the titanium versions.
  2. You will probably have to use Google search and reference it to the forum. Trying to search for anything in most forums with a short name will give no results to speak of.
  3. I was a member of the Polk forum for years but in looking at the site change, it's not too appealing. I've got a set of modded SRS 2's for sale, too, and was going to post there but saw little activity in the threads.
  4. Isn't that more TV repairman stuff?
  5. Doesn't that use the KSS-151 laser assembly? I have a DCD-1560 that uses the same one too.
  6. I'm not sure if Melody Gardot is considered Jazz or not but I enjoy her music and voice. Some like Patricia Barber and I have a few of hers...a few years later and I'm still trying to warm up to it.
  7. I love my CF-3's thus far and finished redoing both back walls of the cabinet this past weekend to get rid of the rattle from the glue not being in the seams. Ladder some bracing and recapped with Solens and Mills resistors and sound much better. Next is increasing port length and some "Fat Mat" on the horns and woofers and I'll be done...until my KLF-30's get here from Austin next month.
  8. Pretty good deal overall. Replacement glass isn't too terribly bad to come by.
  9. I received my Solen caps and Mundorf resistors and hope to get to work on them this weekend. I decided against replacing the 25 and 40uf caps in the woofer circuit for now. I'll see what kind of room is there and maybe replace those later. Gonna have to do some re-bracing since one speaker has a loose back panel. Great. :-/
  10. I'm a network admin at a school district and one of the teachers lost her sister that day in the WTC. She was on the 99th floor. Today at the school they played a memorial video for her. It really shows how it affected people across our country. May they all rest in peace and know they'll never be forgotten.
  11. Klipsch has those grill emblems if you call them and ask nicely. Great people to stock things like that. GLWS. I have a pair of CF-3's and love them.
  12. That's the email link...not the web address. https://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/ele/4652862165.html
  13. You're originally from Searcy? I was born and raised here but moved away from 1990 to 2010. Lived in Tulsa for 14 years and then DFW for 6. Kind of a culture shock moving back after all that time.
  14. I've thought about ordering the parts from the diagram in post #2 and see where that gets me. There's a little difference in two resistors and two caps and that appears to be it; coils are the same. The 1-ohm resistor is out of the circuit in the first diagram which goes along with what's been said about them. Anyone have any more info to add or maybe an owner with a pair of CF-3 v1's that could confirm? Also, what is the length of the ports on the v1's?
  15. I'm in Searcy but getting there would be a time thing. I'm interested.
  16. Yep. But with that mistake, the buyer could get out of that one. They'd lose about a hundred bucks on shipping I would guess. If not more.
  17. Holy crap that's cheap! I wonder if they know that's stupid low for shipping and if they'd honor that once they see how much it would run. If I hadn't already bought a pair of CF-3's and KLF-40's, I'd buy them. The money is no problem...just space and still needing to sell a pair of big Polk SDA's. Plus wondering if they'd make it safe.
  18. Klipsch has the emblems for those if you call them. They shipped me a pair of them out of the Hope, AR location. Not sure about the legs though.
