  1. ditto So I take it you guys wouldn't recomend it. Which brings me to another question how low does the k400 go, if it does go down only go to 400 hz. Then were the lacking frequencies not a concern, if so then should I not be concerned about the altec 511b not going low enough. I guess I do have a few things I could play with to see how it sounds.
  2. I think any time you change anything in your system such as adding curtains, sound traps, chairs couches etc.., especially speakers you want to rerun audyssey. There is a thread I think over at the AVS forum that talks about tweaking audyssey for perfection.. I think audyssey can be good or bad depending on your situation and liking. Some even turn off completely and adjust to they're own liking.
  3. So since these readings are taken in a different environment then my room. It would be best for me to take some readings in my room to see were I have issues. Then boost the frequencies that need be. Would any of the eq's or active cross overs out there work, such as the minidsp, crown xti 1000, or even one of the Berhingers or EVs everyone uses. Maybe I should start with taking some measurements, any recommedation how to do this. Could I use my laptop and a caliberated mic with the right program. Thanks
  4. First off I might not even know what I am asking(except that equing would be like turning up the frequencies between 400-500hz). Second this is mainly for HT purpose though I do like my music. Now the reason I ask, Is I have read that the Khorn struggles about 400hz. I am using the 511b horn with the k-55v, I knowing that the 511b horn only goes down to 500hz. Maybe its not necessary, maybe its bugging me. If I can what does it take. All so I am running a Lascala with the same configuration same horn same driver same crossover(which is the b&k 4500) from what I have read it goes over 400hz so is this still a problem. Thanks Nick
  5. All so what is the frequency range of the 510
  6. Is that the 2446h, and the 2445h. What are the drivers made of.
  7. Dave, I like the way you explain this.
  8. I think if you could get your l/c/r matched up right you would be in good shape, anything from the reference line would be great. You could look at some of the bookshelf systems to save you money, and space. Some good subs and you would be set.
  9. Sounds to me he likes the Belles with the Crites upgrades such as new caps or crossovers, and new Crite tweeters. Sounds good to me.
  10. Dude the stars look awesome, did you have to drill 800 different holes in the dry wall for each strand to come threw. I will have to youtube some install videos on that, seems like it could be alot of work.
  11. Oh that I understand I spent the whole day at work with nothing to do so I read between your 20 page build thread, and the one on avs forum. Its a good thing I have a 2 wheel cart at my house(which my wife couldn't understand at the time I bought that for moving speakers, huh now she does). But on its side would put it at 20" tall once I frame up to that height and add a piece of 3/4" under layment that will put me to 20 3/4" which I can divide by 3 and get close to 7" risers for the steps which is close to standard riser hight for stairs, so it wouldn't be to awkward stepping up. Dammit you guys will you let me finish one project before starting another. The only plus is my wife just thinks it part of finishing the basement off. Dave you better get to assembling that sub before I beet you to it and totally high jack your build thread into mine[].
  12. What is it like 20" or so, I was thinking a 10" step. But I will have to do a mock up when I get back into town next week. I built the table tuba long style, but I don't like how the mouth is on end instead of out the side like the f20. The danely dts 10 seems to be ideal for this thought, but way to much money for my liking.
  13. Looking forward to some pics. I think there was another forum member that Carl built one of these for. I was just doing a little reading on it on the avs forum. I wonder if someone could lay two of them down as a riser for a second row. of coarse the mouth/opening would have to face the rear of the riser or the front which ever would be better, and then frame around it so you could make your riser a little deeper for another row for a couch to fit on. How do you plan on powering it and equing it if any. Sounds like fun. Nick
  14. those evm 12l are what Zakk Wylde uses in his cabs. Just saying.
  15. I would think if the service was done right then the 2125 would be a no brainier. Thats just my opinion.
  16. I must also say that there are slight differences between the two cabs as one is only 1/2" thick material and the other is 3/4" thick. I only have one brass grill thingy that goes with them. No drivers just the mid horns. But I bet we could get them shipped to you for about 100.00 bucks or so, plus some packing material. Yes they would need a little work but for free what the heck.
  17. I have a pair of these you can have just a matter of getting them to you. http://www.saturdayaudio.com/picturepages/electro_voice_regency.htm those aren't mine the ones I have are black(i was just using the pic as reference). I started making baffles for a single 15. I have the original baffles and even a pair of mid horns to go with them.
  18. Radio shack offers a gold spade. You could replace the terminal strip to something like this. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-1246 or heres something similar on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/4PCS-CMC-858-LU-AG-Silver-Plate-Speaker-Binding-Posts-/320587510614?pt=US_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item4aa4813356
  19. Is this the one with the rotating horn. There is a shop here that wires them up for guitar use. I couldn't speak for 2 channel. If you decide to try let us know what you think.
  20. Never mind I figured it out.
  21. So it could have the k-55-v or the k-55-m mid driver. Is that the 700 mid horn or will it more likely be a 701.
  22. I should say my main concern is the high and mid drivers/horns. If it has the e2 crossover what are the differences between the e's that the Heresy 1's have.
