  1. Wow, been a while since i seen a decent set of Voice of the theater. Nice pictures.
  2. Love the grey, wish more people were open to other colors besides black.
  3. Track saws are great and i have nothing against them, i just learned things the old school way and feel comfortable with it so most of my work is done that way. If i had the room for a panel saw it would be a great option but there is just no way to fit it in my garage/shop as good ones are huge. If the track saw works best for you then by all means use it. Different strokes for different folks.
  4. Lol, in my ignorance I didn't even think about outside this country. Ops!! No big deal, just like others to keep their options open.
  5. I couldn't disagree more. Building cabinets 30+ years and never had a problem. Any good straightedge and circular saw can replace a tracksaw.
  6. Track saws are great but if you're cutting full sheets or large panels a good table saw is essential.
  7. The recommended drivers in the plans are just the easiest to find here in the USA, If every possible driver that could be used were in the plans there would be no room for the plans itself. The recommended Dayton & Eminence are fine drivers.
  8. Baltic Birch is not required. Any quality 4+ ply plywood with no thin veneer or voids may be used. Quality particleboard is another option, not OSB (oriented strand board). Lots of other driver options besides the Dayton too. Drivers with higher Fs work best in smaller width cabinets and lower Fs best in wider models, normally anything within 10% of the T/S parameters is fine.
  9. But, ugly is to the bones. Especially when it comes to girls, he, he. Ugly girls need love too.
  10. One of these cabinets will be plenty for just about any size room, you won't be dissapointed with wanting more output. Even the 8" driver in the Table Tuba blows away most store bought or online dealer subs. Some consider lowest distortion a priority including myself. Please explain why this is the case. Tapped horns do not play cleanly much over 60 Hz or so. The LaScala is no longer horn loaded just over 100 Hz so for best performance your horn loaded subwoofer should be crossed over there.
  11. Best of both worlds, more bass + raising drivers closer to ear level. Heresy's really need a sub anyways in my opinion, just not a sloppy/muddy sounding one that subtracts from its natural snappiness. Is snappiness a word ? Not sure, i used it anyways.
  12. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  13. Looking for lowest cost = THT. Upside is lighter weight, lots of size options & driver options. Fully horn loaded + lowest distortion. F-20 Heavier, bigger but easier to build. Fully horn loaded so also lowest distortion. Both are super efficient thus only a small amp is needed saving even more cash. Lil wrecker. Tapped horn. Higher distortion due to design but tuned slightly lower. Also huge and only one size as far as i know of. I'm not super familiar with the specs but probably less efficient, how much ? You will need to look it up. If pairing up with LaScala's or other shorter bass horn designs avoid tapped horns.
  14. Seeing as these are both current models it may be worthwhile taking a trip and listening to your selections at a dealer rather than choosing one or the other and not being happy with your choice. I agree with Claude also, if you are happy with your current K horns, false corners are the next best alternative and would save you some cash in the process. My guess and only a guess is that if you like the K horns the Cornwall 3's would probably a better choice than the 7's in your situation as you have grown accustomed to the heritage sound, they are great sounding loudspeakers. If LaScala's or Belles are an option you can always have a horn loaded sub made to fit into your space by disguising as a audio rack, TV stand, coffee table, side table or whatever your space could use. Don't rule out the option just because you don't think you have the space, in my opinion it would be the best sounding option unless you wanted to go all out. Have you considered Heresy III's using smaller subs as risers?
  15. Selling my set of American acoustic 4 way speakers that have been used in my shop for years. 12" ported woofer, mid & 2 tweets are in fine shape. Very efficient as well. Woofer foam surround is in great shape. Cabinets are in poor shape, good for shop/garage duty. 1" hole in one of the grilles. Oak vinyl wrapped cabinets. About as big as the KG-4's with the risers on. No camera right now, these pictures are copied off yahoo so you can at least see what they look like. Reason for selling. Picked up a set of KG-4s from second hand store and they are minty, probably too good to be using in the shop. $20 takes them home.
  16. Keep the Chorus or find a set of Chorus II, maybe add a good sub for an upgrade or capacitors on the crossover. Just my opinion. If you decide to experiment don't get rid of the Chorus set just in case.
  17. LOL. God intended wood and then charcoal, not earth farts. So did you ever read the history of Kentucky Fried Chicken of which the main revolution was the use of a pressure cooker? Their stuff would still be good today if only they used real chicken and learned how to make decent side dishes. He He Earth farts, good one. Never heard that terminology before.

Their stuff would still be good today if only they used real chicken and learned how to make decent side dishes. KFC coleslaw is OK, not a big fan of much of their other sides but the biscuits are edible. I go to Carsons ribs to get coleslaw, best i ever had but the place is expensive.
  19. Looking for a black plastic terminal binding nut for a pair of KG 4's, these were used in many Klipsch products of the era. Please check your parts bins as one of mine is stripped out.
  20. Sounds more like room or positioning issues than the speaker itself.
  21. You need to get out and listen to more systems. While the RF-7's are no slouch there are many better offerings made by Klipsch & others as well if you have the money and/or space that is.
  22. Happy 40th. Quite sure my malfunction would have been soiling myself even before i left the plane (no bullshit either).
  23. If you are positive its the amp you can: Have the amp repaired. Buy a new amp or used one maybe. Sell for parts. I would sell it for parts personally as spending $100 + on the thing probably is not worth it. Where are you at ? Maybe a forum member needs parts or has a used subwoofer that's local to you for sale. Post a wanted up in the for sale section, possibly somebody has the amp you need.
  24. Its all about driver selection and cabinet tuning. Everything is a compromise and you can't get everything in one package.
