  1. I emailed the guy. Waiting for email back. You get in contact with him? I have a good friend who has been looking for these speakers. I hope they are the cf 3;)
  2. He said he needed the money and his wife was c/o about the space they took up. He was looking to downgrade. I have been on the market for a pair of good khorns for a while now. Patients pays....
  3. sold my la scalas and picked up these babies yesterday. Sound amazing. Three hour drive from miami. He had the new crites tweeter upgrade and new croosovers. Day and night between la scalas. I am very very happy:)
  4. Thank you sir. Posted little late last night, did not even notice. I am willing to drive up to central FL to meet any one up so please lmk. Alex
  5. Pair black 1986 la scalas, consecutive serial numbers. Mint condition and all original parts. Trying to get my hands on a pair of khorns but these must go first. Very fair price i think. Call or text me at 305-335-4796. You can come take a listen first if you like. Alex
  6. if they were just a little closer i would have picked these up in a heart beat. Thats like a 6 hour drive for me;(
  7. I cant believe these are still for sale. This would not happen in Florida;)
  8. I love these speakers. I am trying to convince one of my good friends to purchase these...
  9. Excellent unit. I had one on my Paradigm Servo 15a and the differance was noticable with much easier User control over gain control and frequency cut off. Bump for good seller as well[H]
  10. I got my tht-lp the the same way and it is a amazing! You will not be disapointed. I went to every forum and searched every classified section till I found what i was looking for. Your probably going to have to do the same. Just keep searching. GL Alex

  12. Not bad at all. Could make a nice dual sub setup for someone on a budget. These would go nice in my bedroom:)
  13. GREAT subs, GREAT deal. This is a steal. I payed more for my single tht-lp and it was w/o the amp. If you have the space i would do your research and seriously consider one if not both these subs. You have never heard bass like these bad boys can reproduce. Clean, bold, non directional, enveloping, many falling of the wall picture frames kind of bass-no exageration. Sounds AMAZING with my la scalas
  14. "And as the excursion of THT goes down below 22Hz it won't benefit from even a high quality HP filter." http://www.avsforum.com/t/1342427/tht-high-pass-filter#post_20603905 I have done some reading and it appears the over all concensus is it DOES NOT need a hpf. I also heard Bill say to not boost anywere in the 20-25hz region and if a HPF is a must it will have to be above 25hz, which i do not want... So i guees i do not need a HPF. The SA-1000 is a bit to expensive for me. I might be able to get a good deal on a bash 500 and also have a good deal on a crown xls 1500 (local). The bash which will be cheaper but the xls give me space for a second tht-lp upgrade in the future and no need for a box building for amp i will need to do with the bash... One is a pro full rage amp, the other soley subwoofer amp. My real question is, regardless of everything else, off which amp will the sub sound "better" of off? Which of these amps is better suited for driving this particular sub? Alex
  15. Ok i have done tons of reading and research today. I came across the behringer iNUKE serious. Looks very promising with built in dsp and subsonic filter, which i am looking for. I was thinking the 1000dsp and run it bridged at 4 ohms or the 3000dsp and just run 1 channel at 4 ohms.... Opinions?
  16. Topis says it all. I was set on crown xti but then i started doing some reading and there is information the AMP does not put it rated power down low, 20HZ region. I was leaning toward a behringer EP2000 or EP2500. I would really like to stay in the 200, max 250 range for a NICE amp. Obviously the amp is for subwoofer duty so are there any other amps you guys would recomend? I would really like to have atleast 500WPC for sub to get most out of sub, if i have extra power on tap that is ok. I am smart user and really dont run my sub too hot. I want a the amp to be rackable. It is for 60% music, 40% movies. I have la scalas with a marantz ma700 on each. My room is 12ft x 22ft with 8ft ceilings. Opens to kitchen and staircase...... Thank you guys in advance for your help. PICS are coming soon Alex
  17. Those KPT-684 I think might be a very good match for you. I would look into them...
  18. You must remember that the rc-62 has 2 6" woofers and the rf-82 has 2 8" woofers, not to mention you obviously have two fronts so essentially you have 4 8" woofers. I know these two speakers are what is recomended but you MIGHT feel the center being drowned out by the fronts. I had the same setup, and i was happy, but i could see were you might be coming from. I had my center as large and it sounded much better. You might also want to level much your center up a bit and fronts down a bit. I would not worry so much about the spl meter but what sounds best to YOUR ear. Everybody is different and you might just desire more from your center than others, which is more than fine. I have two heresy's [] I would save, even if for months, sell your rc-62 and get a rc-64. In todays market your looking at a few hundred bucks more you will spend. I beleive the rc-64 will blow you away and there really is no upgrading from there... Good luck. Hope i helped. Alex
  19. Yes I did. I did not actually measure but eye balled it and obviously listened to what sounds best. Alex I also want to confirm when you level matched your speakers you did it with an SPL meter and not by ear, right? I did it by ear. I dont have a spl meter

  21. Of course i have thought about a pair of heresy's for back. My plan is to get a thrid la scala as center and move these heresy's to rears. This will all be in years to come... Sounds like a great plan . . . Educate me . . . How did you connect/wire the two Heresys to operate as once channel on your AVR setup? Would be interested to know how to do that . . Well, safely. :-) I straight up connected both speakers into the center channel output on receiver. Should give a final 4 ohm load. My receiver is recommended down to 6 ohms but I have read people that have run at 4 ohms with out a problem. Currently I am only using the receivers center channel speaker output to drive any speakers so I should be fine for now. Until I get another maranta ma700... Sounds pretty good too:) keep in mine I use my setup mostly for music in stereo so I really don't use center channel all that much. Alex
  22. Congratulations on the LaScalas, but looking at your setup and reading about lobing and canceling issues with running two center channels it made me wonder what you liked about running two Heresies, instead of one? Did you also level match your speakers when testing? I did alot of research before deciding on the two heresy's. From what i read-There is alot of TALK on cancelation; MOST real life reveiws this is really not the issue, More imporntantly is tweater/speaker placement and directioning. With them crossfiring they cover and sweep more room area... Im not really sure what it is but it definatly sounds better. Much more presence and less localization. Were ever you sit or stand in front of the tv seems like there is a center channel coming at you. Keep in mind, keeping up with la scalas.... I did level match test the speakers. The center is about a +5 on the receiver. Mind you, i listen to 75% stereo so only the two la scalas. I use the center for tv or movies. I am very very happy with they way they sound, and look[] Alex
  23. I was wating for you to chime in Bill[] Thanks for all your help and advice. You are right, i catch my self listening to different types of music i never really use to listen to. Lately i have been listening to Salsa. The instruments sound so lively and real.
