  1. Grab the 81's and if it doesn't work out, you can get out of them clean or make some money. I wouldn't wait.
  2. Was your wife standing over your shoulder when you wrote this? I know the answer to that, and your wife knows better. []
  3. IMHO, 81's for 300 is a great deal, but some of this depends on placement.
  4. Edit; I wasn't calling your wife or anyone else that wants a little Bose system stupid; maybe hearing impaired or deaf, but not stupid.
  5. My GF told me for 2+ years that her blows system sounded really good and she liked my equipment but didn't understand why my speakers were so big when blows could do it with a cube. One evening we went to her brothers (she gave him the blows system when she got divorced) and he had seen one of my set ups but never heard it (wasn't worthy) and he knew I was into music so when we got there I had to hear about how his classic something O 1's were great but he couldn't figure out how to hook them up to the sat receiver/stereo receiver, but he just kept going on and on and I was very polite and said I was sure that they sounded great (tongue was bleeding profusely), then I was drug upstairs to listen to the mighty cubes and again, I just said that the surround sounded really good (god was I lying), but on the way home the GF said; "I'm sorry, those old speakers of mine sound like shi# compared to any of your Klipsch. .................Moral of the story is that sometimes stupid can be overcome, given enough time.[]
  6. Nice set up, and I know it sounds great based on what I have owned. Wait til you get out of college and can really blow some money on a system. LMFAO, great deal too and welcome to the fun.
  7. Great thread and a phenomenal build. I'm glad that the post is up and going as it's been really hard to keep my mouth shut on this one. LOL You're a great guy and I say that having never met you, but it's obvious. Keep the pictures coming and BTW, I'm planning an end of the world blow out on December 21st and you sir are invited!
  8. On the left is the crossover that Dean built for my Split Cornscala project with Crites woofer and Atlas compression driver and I used a Beyma tweeter and on the right is the stock Cornwall 2 crossover. These work great with mine and Dean did a wonderful job on them.
  9. Not a fan of hers at all, but as a general rule, singers are suppose to sing so any performer that lip syncs is a POS in my book. What if you sat down to watch the super bowl and there they were, both teams out on the field and the game begins, but no ball; but they still went through the motions and pretended that they had a ball ; give me a break, I turned it off until it was done and the game started back up. You know, maybe they should change it to flag football and no running allowed so nobody will ever get hurt and we should never have a live band play or sing ever again either cause there might be a mistake, cry me a freaking river "the best ever" are you kidding, get a life and why don't you show up to work and pretend to do your job and see how long you last. I feel much better now and you can let me out of this jacket.[] Great freaking game; even with the mistakes.
  10. Yes you did, but my first reaction was exactly the same as your's; but this is about winning the game and the coach doing everything he can to give his team the edge. I did read that he'll still get the ring if they win and he's been on and off the squad all year. I'm not a Pats or Giant's fan to speak of and just want to see a great game, but to deny the fact that Belichick is one of the greatest coaches in the game is like saying that Brady is an average quarterback.
  11. I'm beginning to learn that you can never have enough clamps; funny, I built for many years and only needed a handful but now that I do the occasional DIY cabinet I have 20 and need 20 more.
  12. I'll check it out; thanks! This might be a dumb question but will all active glasses work with all 3D TV's or are they specific to the manufacturer?
  13. I think he's back. There's a guy with 17 post only in the garage sale section to either post his khorns, belle's , cornwalls, or to make low ball offers to folks selling the same. he has listings on ebay as well. He hasn't been snagged yet as a dealer. I'm not going to reply to his listings because doing so would be a forum rule violation. I went thru his post count and he's been posting quite a few pairs of Heritage things. Now he says stuff like, "refinished and ready to go". Only problem is his prices are double what a good forum price would be and tripple what a craigslist price would be. BTW, there's no restrictions in the garage sale section about flippers....only dealers. So maybe a dealer is someone who has to charge sales tax and a flipper is someone who does not?Won't that work itself out when the overpriced gear doesn't sell because anyone that's been on here for any amount of time has a pretty good idea of what the reasonable price range of a given item is? I don't make to many comments about what someone is asking for something or what they paid for it unless I think they got a great deal or if someone is really outside the box on the asking price, but then again, I don't have any ulterior motive on this forum, even though I've sold a couple items and purchased a couple items.
  14. Hi to everyone! Just trying to figure out where the best deals are to pick up a couple more sets of active 3D glasses and not spend $150 a pair. I have a Pany VT25 and purchased one of the 3D packs with the TV, but I need more glasses for the times we will have company over to watch a 3D movie. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  15. I hate to hear that you're out of work, but what a great way to pass the time. Looking fabulous thanks for the pictures.
  16. You don't need to cut channels in the pad. If the carpet pad is installed properly it will be on the inside edge of the tack strip that will grip the carpet and that won't be up against the wall either. After the tack strip and pad (go with the heaviest rebond you can afford) are installed you should be able to keep your wires just to the inside of the tack strip and have them notch the strip to allow the cable to come up tight against the base board. I would secure the wire in a couple of locations with small cable clamps that won't stick up any higher than the tack strip to make sure that the wire doesn't get over the tacks. Remember you don't walk around your house on the edge.
  17. Thanks for starting my morning off with a big laugh!
  18. I sometimes tell my wife what is said here BUT I am NOT going to tell my wife that one, I might look dumb but..... If it DOES slip out, don't tell her I said it. And don't tell her that I started it either.
  19. Well apperantly you did very good with the last choice. Very nice and covered for 5 years, you did good with both choices. Yea, but I really wish I could have gotten the full 5 year warranty on her too I mean her picture looks great now but what if it starts looking really bad, or she gets really fuzzy, then what?
  20. 1. Beer 2. Thanks! 3. I do 4. Direct TV 5. If she can tolerate my smart as$ for 3 years you sir are correct! []
  21. No problems at all and I love the picture. Very happy with the purchase and won't go to anyone elses home to watch the super bowl, I'll be right here enjoying my Pany.
  22. Great another local (to me anyways) so if you decide that you need to get rid of them I'm not that far away![]
  23. Welcome to the forum! Great story and terrific deal on the 83 Heresy's. If you get an opportunity you should post a pic of your new/old set up as everyone around here loves pictures. What part of the country are you in?
  24. All I can say is that is is for me and many others from what I understand and looked at prior to purchasing. I'm not a huge vinyl guy but the limited amount of vinyl I have is a special part of my music collection but part of my decision was about the investment and knowing I wasn't going to spend thousands on a table and cartridge and I really wanted to keep it around 500 and this was the table that fit the bill for me, but I'm not the expert here, just my opinion.
