  1. Will power vs more audio equipment? I always end up having more equipment.
  2. Nice stuff you got there, Dee. The Teac is a great amp and the Wright monos should be very sweet. The Sunfire preamp seems like a bargain at that price.
  3. I've owned a Delphi MK1 and wasn't easy to set it up but to me, it sounded better than my previous Linn LP12. The MK V is much more user friendly.
  4. here's a nice option http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgtabl&1127001282
  5. Whamo, A friend of mine is selling this fully rebuilt Dynaco Stereo 70 in very nice cosmetic condition. It has the desirable cloth lead transformers and has been fully rebuilt using a new larger, multi section, power supply capacitors(40,80,30,20 mf 525V), new 100mf bias supply caps, Sprague 716P - orange drop, film & foil caps. It has a brand new set of Sovtek EL34s and 5AR4 and original, good, US made, 7199 tubes. He's asking $425 + shipping for it. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you his contact info. http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/files/st70.jpg
  6. Tommy, You can still use your Denon 103 with the AU-310 step up transformer connected to one of the phono inputs of the Blueberry.
  7. not mine but I thought that someone might find it useful. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50597&item=5789071978&rd=1

I could have written exactly the same comment about modern high end tables - which probably means we are both wrong. However, I think given the choice between this unit and a Clearaudio (or other make in this price range - I just happen to know the clearaudio line quite well) would be a no brainer for me - if only for the 5 year warranty and the availability of parts, knowledgable engineers and the like. Not to mention the upgrade path for many of these modern tables - the sky is the limit (or your wallet is....) ---------------- There's no need to upgrade anything with these tables, just use the original 929 arm and TSD-15 cartridge and it makes music like no other table (and at a very reasonable cost). I've heard the big EMT 927 on many occasions with a SME 3012R and Ortofon SPU 85 anniversary and I prefer it to any modern plastic table out there. Barco still supply most parts for EMT and they're not that expensive. Apart from the idler wheel, nothing nearly ever need replacing.

  12. These are very nice but they were rebuilt with modern capacitors instead of "black beauties" so it might decrease the value for collectors. OTOH, the caps can still be replaced with the "correct " ones for a very low cost. I wouldn't be surprised it they would sell for $2500 or more.

These Tannoy cabinets are very complicated (especially the horn loaded ones). Also, they were designed to have some coloration to suit the drivers. Build an overdamped cabinet and all the magic will be gone.
  14. Joe, Sorry to hear about your accident. Nice stuff you've got there. Prices are more than fair. The Dyna is a bargain at that price.
  15. Richie, If you decide to go with a power amp instead of an integrated amp. A good friend of mine wishes to sell this fully rebuilt Dynaco ST-70 for $425 + shipping. PM/email me in case you're interested and I'll forward you his contact info. Thanks, Guy
  16. Ben should have the schematic. Craig (NOSValves) should have it too. I've emailed it to both of them a while back. Unfortunately, I deleted it from my files, not too long ago.
  17. Well, You've only heard CaptnBob's opinion. Many others would disagree with him and claim that the Patrician is one of the finest loudspeakers ever made. I haven't heard it myself (and I guess that you didn't hear it too) so I prefer not to speculate.

Thanks, CaptnBob. ---------------- The base and tweeter were definitely superior. I thought that the midrange superiority was only an excuse among lower powered SET amps fans. Are you a low power SET fan, Paul?
  19. Best place to start reading is here: http://www.fmtunerinfo.com/ . Did you eventually buy a turntable?
  20. I wouldn't touch these with a 10 feet pole. Too many uncertain issues and non original knobs, that can cost a small fortune to replace (if you can ever find them).
  21. I haven't heard the Krell with RF-7's but I heard it driving other speakers. It might sound too bright with Klipsch.
  22. It's an excellent choice.
