  1. if you have very limited crossover settings then use your subs crossover on the back of the unit, 80s probably about right for you then set the rest of the speakers to small and start out at 60 and go up until it sounds the way you like it, its going to be tough to set it up "perfect" with limited functions in the receiver, I would probably set all of your speakers inbetween 70-80 2 options, buy new rear speakers or receiver
  2. I thought I just saw new rt10ds selling for 600 somewhere, that would be a better option in my book since they look to preform the same on paper and aren't 11 years old The 1k mark is a sweet spot for id subs but give it 200-500 more an your options really open up from all the major id subs to dig alot deeper and harder than the rsws
  3. Theres been alerts posted there already as they've been running this deal off and on once a month usually, how they still have any left is beyond me, 300 for this sub is still simply a fantastic buy, I bought 2 of them sometime ago before making another upgrade, welcome to the forum and enjoy!
  4. I'd try a emotiva xpa-5 first before plopping 4500 on an amp, If I had to plop 4500 I'd get 5 xpa-1's and have a killer monoblock setup B&K could also be another good brand to scope out
  5. I'd probably get the xmc before looking at the xpr series amps, uncertain if the klipsch would make much of any benefit with the xpr over xpa aside from class differences, although 2 xpa1s for stereo might be a good idea [6] make sure to do a side by side with the xpr5 and xpa5 for us There are no plans at present for an XPA-700, however we are working on an new XPA-7, as has been previously noted elsewhere. Hope this helps, Cheers, Dan I guess there is a xpa-7 coming and they are saying its going to be 1ru bigger than a xpa5
  6. for the cost of some of these cabinets or already done mame arcades why not plant a 42" flatscreen on the wall and build some sort of shelving for the control pad along with a pc or htpc down underneath? a more modern approach to a classic video game style
  7. going into such a large area will all but ensure you need something quite large I would say 1k and up is recommended http://www.rythmikaudio.com/FV15HP.html http://www.edesignaudio.com/index.php?cPath=2_41 a7 350 or larger http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/ported-box/pb13-ultra some pb13 ultras are closing out a little cheaper http://epiksubwoofers.com/empire.html dual configuration these are a few of my recommendations
  8. while I cant directly comment on klf 30s vs 7's as I've owned neither I have listened to plain rf7's, modded rf7's and also owned klf 20s and the rf83s, like mentioned the 63s and 83s really sound 3 way, the modded 7s also sounded very similiar the biggest difference is the center, when you compare the klf c7 to the newer centers it sounds like it has a blanket over it, if your primarily happy with the klfs try upgrading them with crites http://www.critesspeakers.com/contact_us.html
  9. your going to narrow your listening field assuming you have them vertical, if you put them all horizontal I imagine they would all sound the same [] if you can mount or lift these all off the ground to the same height around or near your ear level and the deal is GREAT I say go ahead...but your going to have no low end period, so this means your really going to have to spend some coin on a fantastic sub or maybe 2, then tell him if you buy his setup he will have to cut you a at cost deal on 2 sw-115's [6] if your boss gets stuff below cost anyway I'm suprised he didn't get 5 tower speakers instead...
  10. leds do seem to have a certain "pop" to them for colors, to me it seems overly artificial, my samsung 120hz led life expectancy was very short, after I noticed extreme amounts of ghosting it quickly departed the house and was replaced with another panasonic s2 screen burn in is nearly non existant, I left this tv (hooked up the new computer to the 58" panasonic plasma) on for almost a day on the same image by accident and the image was there for a short time after but quickly disappeared once normal viewing resumed plasmas do use a little more energy but I'll gladly pay the extra 10 dollars a year I've had dlp, lcd, led, plasma and each have their own benefits and drawbacks, each person needs to decide what is important to them
  11. \some would call this survival of the fittest least dumb [*-)]
  12. finally upgraded my old am2 to a i5 with a nvidia 560 ti video card, this things smoking quick comparing it back 5 yrs, now to wait for valve to release their new counter-strike
  13. when they closed out the rf83 series I picked my rs62s up from a dealer, they had a 5.2 thx system setup with the dual klipsch thx subs....I took a listen and was even comparing the thx rears and the rs62s....to me there wasnt much difference I think your biggest difference will be tweaking your setup to your room, since you've invested so much already why not try a umc or another preamp as well? selling your avr and getting a umc probably wouldnt have much out of pocket
  14. if you get the ambition take a look at the xpa2 from emotiva its just flat out sweet for its price, doing it all over again I would have gotten that right away after the 83s since it really makes them sing, but on the other side of things if you happen to see a rc64 near you for sale jump on it since they are going to get tougher to find as time goes on, once these 2 things are in place just take your time and do it right to make yourself happy the first time around if I had to have a 1 amp solution in 7 channels either the emotiva mps2 or b&k's 7 channel 200wpc amp would have been the next choices for myself watts really aren't very important as any quality amp is going to outshine the avrs most of them have claims of 200ish and is more than enough on any klipsch speaker I carefully considered 3 brands being rotel, emotiva, b&k ultimately the winner came down to my justification of cost/preformance, you'll have to decide your channel configuration and pricepoint
  15. I wonder how many injury timeouts each side gets for axing the boys on those 5 ft leg drops constantly
  16. I guess the first 15 trillion didn't matter much in this regard whats stopping the next 15 trillion? and both sides will vote in another pay increase for themselves, ours did on the local and state level already but it was okay to cut us nearly 20% because "were broke"
  17. estate tax, what self serving rich folks wouldn't want that? this will ensure you maintain generations of enslaved laborers to do your bidding be it from the non existant middle class or the ever growing poverty class. Theres only one thing easier than taxing beer and smokes, and thats screwing dead people out of life savings, the real reality is most folks will outlive any savings anyway and the nursing homes or caregivers will take every cent out of that house before the govt gets a whiff of it, but dont worry they will still get theres taxing the death homes.
  18. Personally I like my aunts a bit on the smaller side...[6] My next addition would be a strong preforming sub
  19. so what your saying... behind every dumb person making an even dumber law, theres an equal or greater less intelligent person who did something one can only scratch there head at... I bet construction workers wouldn't mind building more padded rooms since they are slow on houses anyway So the real moral I'm getting from all of this is if your driving 12 hours with them and they puke on your roof you should hose them down and continue on...
  20. I'd laugh....but after watching the state news tonight it's alarming to see the full brunt of idiocracy I really dont know how these idiots can expect officers on the road to enforce such a dumb idea, I hope we can get some more laws like this so we can see the officers on the road enforcing something so stupid all while clearing less than an entry level factory worker. Because thats what americas about capitalism and animals buckeling up...hopefully they put them in booster seats first to make sure the animals truly safe Didn't we use to put these idiots in padded rooms or run them out of town, what the... 21. I wonder how they can legaly justify that, as that sounds extremely fraudulent as you did not authorize charges. You should receive proper notification and ability to review it with that included being your alleged bill. Granted you are suppose to pay taxes on internet purchases anyway but 2 wrongs most certainly dont make a right. If they want to come after you because you avoided thousands in taxes then they have the right to the legal process and not fraudulent withdrawls on dirty tactics. I think I'd be on the authorizing persons doorstep making my own collections right back at them after a stunt like that. I wonder how long it will take them to realize a straight consumption tax would be more profitable and easier to collect with likely less overhead having to manage it...nothing like wasting a dollar to get a penny back I guess the next step for ordering online for those who don't want to pay their online taxes will be bogus names followed by prepaid cards, how much money should we spend trying to combat that? We should probably spend 5 dollars to get that penny back. They just can't think of enough creative ways to tax us yet. My favorite is the sin taxes and then trying to ban them everywhere possible citing health reasons. Once these sin taxed businesses start failing from lack of consumers willing to pay 500% increases I dare to think what is next on the agenda. Maybe I don't need to think to hard and can just look at NY and the 16oz soda concept...
  22. your welcome, and hopefully you enjoy it, its always easier to see everything side by side (I always just open up new ie tabs and compare side by side from there) this sub should be a sweet difference from the 10d (I've had 10d's and 12d's in my setup already testing for myself and others) I doubt you'll be disappointed [Y]
  23. sw-310 FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 24Hz-120Hz ± 3dB MAX ACOUSTIC OUTPUT: 116dB @ 30Hz sw-112 FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 26Hz-120Hz ± 3dB MAX ACOUSTIC OUTPUT: 116dB @ 30Hz your klipsch rw10d FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 28-120Hz +/-3dB MAXIMUM ACOUSTIC OUTPUT: 112dB @ 30Hz very little difference between the 3 in terms of capability Congrats on the purchase of the awesome new speakers....There really isn't enough difference between these subs to make it worthwhile, and under normal circumstances I won't recommend any of them. Under this circumstance I can say this, give your new sweet setup a real brute of a sub to match your slick top tier speakers. I wouldn't go with anything less than a sw-115 so that you can at least get some sub 20hz rumble and keep up with the rest of your setup, my suggestion is sell the rw10d for whatever you can and get a sw115 or greater sub, if you haven't allowed a good budget for the sub yet my suggestion then is to save and wait sw-115 FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 18Hz-150Hz ± 3dB MAX ACOUSTIC OUTPUT: 121dB @ 30Hz 1/8 space, 1m epik, ed, hsu, svs, rythmik are a bunch of internet direct companies that can give you a huge bang for your buck as well when looking into subs
  24. with the rest of your speakers so capable I wouldn't go less than a upa-5, otherwise route if you don't want a xpa5 would be to find a mps1 or 2
