  2. Truth. My 31 year old 1992 forte II are being enjoyed by another forum member now, as I upgraded to forte IV after 31 years.
  3. I would also look at SVS subs. They have a great try at home program as well as upgrade policy where if you feel you need more, they will credit your purchase price for up to 1 year, on a larger, or different sub.
  4. I would do the upgrade regardless. Should still be a huge improvement whether you replace the squawkers or not. Do you know anyone with a pair of III or IV that could call in a "favor" for you? If not, as time goes on, you should be able to more readably find a pair on the used market.
  5. Yes, but you may have to purchase forte III, or IV squawker horns. Not sure if the tractrix squawker horns from the forte II will mount to the new drivers.
  6. Why replace the woofers and passive radiator on a forte II? I fail to see the benefit. I would think the only replacement required would be the squawker horns.
  7. Would make a nice upgrade on forte and or forte II model as well.

  11. You would think that Klipsch/Audiovox could finance this. Especially with the MSRP of the current Heritage line......
  12. INMHO, the Heritage line by far. I bought my first Klipsch speakers in 1992, and just sold late last year. A new pair of forte II. I replaced with a pair of forte IV. Both were, are perfect for music or home theater. I have never been a multi-channel listener. 2 ears, two speakers. I still feel that the forte is the Goldilocks of the Heritage line. Delivers the best overall bass, with perhaps the exception of the Khorn. INMHO no sub required, although if you are a real bass head you may disagree. More direct punch than even the Cornwall to my ears. If you can swing it, save your dollars for a Heritage IV design regardless of which model you choose. You can find Heritage IV series used, as new for 40% or more less, than retail on a new pair. Welcome to the forum, and good luck on your search for audio nirvana.

  15. My guess is that it would be cheaper to sell the Heresy II, and buy a used nice pair of Heresy III. It appears you would be replacing everything other than the speaker cabinets.
  16. They sent "Rocky the Squirrel" to pop the balloon. Bullwinkel is directing from NORAD. 😠
  17. Where are you located, and how far are you willing to travel? I and other forum members can be on the lookout as well.
  18. Yes, no alcohol. I am speaking of a lens cleaner that is a CD with a micro brush on which cleans the lense when played.
  19. Sorry they used to. They were in Hoffman Estates since the early 80's. Bought my first car stereo there. Last time I was there was probably a decade or so ago and they carried and had on display at the time.

  21. I spoke with Ralph when forte IV were released inquiring whether he could re fabric my forte II grills in lambswool. At the time I had not moved from Chicagoland. He told me to drop them off or ship to him and he would do the job. Cannot remember what the quoted cost was.
