  1. Mark, thanks for your input. Am I missing something on serial numbers? The FB posting link reflects the serial number of an Academy Center Channel also available from same seller. The serial numbers for the C-4, are: 041595073 My understanding on serials is that this would reflect a date of 41st day of 1995?
  2. The speakers are still available Serial number is 041595073. Would that be a V1, or 2? Said they are her fathers and look "out of the wrapper". Is $1,500.00 a fair price?
  3. Both PM"s responded to. Thank you. John
  4. I anticipate picking up a pair of forte III on Thursday. Should everything work out, which I believe it should, then I will be selling my 1992 forte II beginning Friday 3/22/19 Consecutive serial numbers, Clear Oak Finish BC Titanium tweeter diaphragm Klipsch Titanium squawker diaphragm BC Networks BC Outboard mid range band pass Original boxes, inserts, etc, Aesthetically the speakers are a 10/10, straight out of the wrapper. No disappointments. $750.00 Firm Pictures to follow soon. I prefer not to ship. Local buyer can audition. Regards, John
  5. INMHO you can never have enough clean power, especially one with a large torrid transformer with large power reserves. Your volume control should take care of over-driving the speakers, if your ears last that long. Regards, John

  10. Wish you were closer. GLWS. If the Chorus II are in great shape , as they appear to be you may get 1K out of them. John
  11. If you liked the KG series, then INMHO you would be happier with a used set of forte, or forte II. Regards John
  12. The forte line has always had a reputation of being among one of Klipsch's most balanced speakers. I have been enjoying my forte II for over a quarter century now, with zero regrets. Glad to see you appear to have placement issues mostly resolved. Enjoy, and congratulations.. Regards, John
  13. Rick, Agreed. GLWS they should not last long, Regards, John
  14. Rick Thank you. Still trying to figure out if I can pull the trigger on. Just didn"t want to contemplate if unwilling to ship. They are beautiful! John
  15. I had the exact opposite experience when I bought my first real system in early 1992. My salesman couldn't stop guiding me back to the forte II even though I was willing to pay the price difference on the Chorus II at the time. I have had absolutely zero regrets over the last 28 years or so.. This was at United Audio, a long defunct high end retailer in the Midwest. Regards, John
  16. Correct, and thank you, will give it a try. John
  17. Deer season in IL ends Sunday the 20th. Hopefully will get in some time the following week.
  18. Powered up my system and all seemed to be functioning properly, until I loaded a CD and tried to play. Everything functions on player but no sound. I have balanced interconnects from player to preamp. When Preamp is set to CD, No sound. Although I am able to get video audio when set to Aux 1. Since I do not have, nor can I find a player to borrow with balanced interconnects, can I run unbalanced RCA from player to Aux 1 and assume if still no sound that the issue lies in the player and not the preamp? Or vice versa? Thanks in advance, John
