  1. I replaced a wonderful Pioneer Elite SC-35 with the I.C.E amps with a HK AVR-3700. It has 4k and fantastic sound. Couldn't be any happier.
  2. I went from a Elite SC-35 to a HK 3700. I loved my SC-35 but I wanted to try a little something different and I have always loved HK sound. I will say that I think the Elite had a little more "oomph" but the 3700 has much "clearer" sound. I am very happy I made the switch.
  3. Keep the Klipsch 5.0 and add two subs if you are looking for something more. I love my Definitive equipment but I am not sure if I like it more than my Klipsch gear. Both great brands IMO.
  4. That's a great scene. Sounds like you have a winning combo! Bass you can feel is one of the best additions to any home theater.
  5. The Emotiva MPS-1 is a old 7 channel amp that had 7 amplifier blades. There is one for sale by me (in Seattle) for $1,200. It has been for sale for quite some time so he might take $1,000... Shipping would be a killer though, this beast weighs 115lbs!
  6. I was using my SC-35 with two Martin Logan subs. I would run the LFE out to the sub in in the Klipsch amp. Definitely set your mains to small. That will take the low-end frequency off of your mains and let the subs handle the low-end like they were designed to do. I also set the crossover to 80hz. That should really wake the subs up.
  7. Congrats man! I am glad you are finally happy. Killer setup!
  8. My two Polk 505's should be here tomorrow. I know they won't stack up to my Rythmik FV15FV but I kept reading so many good reviews that I though I would pull the trigger when I saw them pop up for $190ea. Congrats on the new sub!
  9. Meek a new thread when you get a chance to listen to this savage. I can't wait to hear your impressions...
  10. I am also a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and what you get with Rythmik is a better performing subwoofer for less money. I bought the Rythmik based on performance and performance only, not becaust of the price or the warranty. Everyone is different though. If I was to buy a new subwoofer today, I would order dual PSA XV30f's. Check em' out.
  11. I really don't see how having to pay for shipping plays into the equation. Shipping is either built into the price (SVS) or it isn't (Rythmik). Call Brian (owner of Rythmik) and see of he can get you a better deal on shipping for duals, I know he offers a discount on purchasing duals, just not sure on shipping. Everyone will stand by products that they have purchased, I am no different.
  12. After I received my FV15HP, they offered a special on the F25. I would have loved to order the F25 but I am space limited. Dual F25's would be awesome!
  13. Dual Rythmik FV15HP. They play deeper and use less power than the SVS. Like mentioned earlier, throw PSA into the mix. The price/performance of PSA subs is up on the Rythmik and SVS levels. Like Scrappy mentioned, the Captivator is the best performing sub mentioned in this thread but duals would blow your budget out of the water. Buying new subs is the most fun part of assembling a HT. Enjoy the process. You pretty much can't go wrong with any on the subs mentioned in this thread.

    Orb Audio?

I was just looking for a little "higher end" look and sound. I am going to match them with my HK AVR 3700. I have also owned some Monitor Audio HD90's and they sounded great for their size. Just confusing myself again I guess

    Orb Audio?

Not sure if this is kosher or not.. Just thought I would ask you guys because you have always been very helpful. Klipsch will always be in my main system so I am not abandoning the Klipsch ship.

    Orb Audio?

Thinking about picking up a Orb Audio "People's Choice" 5.1 with the Uber 10 sub. I am just wondering if anyone here has any experience with them? Bought a Samsung UN60ES7150 and looking for a smaller scale 5.1 system that sounds good. Might not buy the sub and get another, smaller Rythmik or SVS sub. The Uber 10 is $699 and doesn't look all that impressive but it is small..
  17. Two klipsch RW12's will out perform a single Emotiva sub, not even close. Now the Outlaw at $600 will play quite a bit lower than the klipsch subs but the duals will have a more even room frequency response. I would probably lean towards the Outlaw and add another when you are comfortable dropping another $600. I mainly use my system for movies though so the lower bass comer in handy;)
  18. Between those two subs? Rythmik FV15HP;)
  19. What 100w pioneer CECA850? Some of their non Elite receivers failed miserably on bench tests. The newer SC AKA Elite receivers have been down right animals on bench tests and can drive 95% of today's speakers beyond sane volume levels. I do agree though, some of the old receivers were powerhouses and that is why a few of them fetch a premium even to this day.
  20. They do make fantastic receivers. Very powerful and great sound.
  21. Congrats! They sound like monsters. I love buying speakers but I REALLY love buying subwoofers. In for the pics..
  22. That is a great deal. That guy has one amazing HT setup. His YouTube videos got me motivated to step my HT game up a little.

    HK 3700

Got this receiver yesterday and finally got it hooked up. I can tell you that I am very happy with the sound and am happy to be using HK again. I think the pioneer SC-35 might be a little more "powerful" but the AVR-3700 is a lot more articulate. I valve always been planning on adding another Acurus or Emotiva amp for the 63's and the 64(when I find one). Anyway, very happy with my purchase and if you guys have any questions just let me know.
  24. Looks amazing Hammer!! The only thing I might change (can't believe I am typing this..) is sell one of the pairs of 83's and add another Captivator. Maybe add some 81's as heights. I love your room and gear, it turned out fantastic and I bet it sounds even better.
