  1. for the wiring of the speakers --------what size gauge are these -------too thin would not be very good for the highs-mids and may lead these in the screeching issue , second thing would to use the 8 ohms terminals and on the preamp , lower the level of the treble controls until the sound is more pleasant ( if there is a tone control ) ----finally , verify the crossover to make sure all screws are tight and replace only the capacitors , with newer ones , ----------there are settings on the crossover , you can lower these by 1 tap -for 3dl less on the tweeter -
  2. this particular speaker was discussed in this forum earlier in January of this year we know that it may be a 50's Klipschorn Junior as these shipped with the EV Cobreflex IIB Horn as an option and the University SAHF mids driver as well is correct , the crossover looks original but has no tag ,- we can see a tag on the left side of the bass bin , and this may tel us the exact age of the speaker and whether this is a true 51 TO 55 KHORN JR
  3. jUSTIN -----quick question is the -Faital Large format Eliptrac horn.. a horn you can buy ready made
  4. first thick spongy plastic sheeting , wrap around- tape - then thick bubble wrap and tape , then cardboard - that layer will take any kind of bump --moving Blanckets- and cardboard in the vehicle --
  5. well he did destroy quite a few Masterpieces in his madness and he reduced Germany from a big cultural society and land into a very small country , and the massacres and the Holocaust that almost wiped out the Jewish population of Europe were genocidal--------when the war was about to end, he ordered their entire destruction with flame throwers of the worlds rarest paintings and artwork , what a sad legacy , first looting the Artistic treasures of Europe , then burning them to ashes - he did more harm to Germany in 30 years than history combined -
  6. very impressive ----------he even foresaw the design of aeronautics looking at birds
  7. you are again 100% correct , I over protect my speakers during moving against any kind of bump or drop , and of course the most important , never move heavy speakers by yourself or with a helper you can't trust 100% -

  17. I would first place a foam piece or a very thick cardboard in the back of the grille in the part of the grille for the tweeter-mids-woofer to strengthen the grille as you apply pressure to the cane material on the front part of the grille , this can avoid damaging the material ------------and I would use dishwater soap , or steam -----slowly , softly on both grilles to match up ----
