  1. Oh, really? I hate in when I buy a grill and it doesn't come with a grill
  2. If only it was simply a regular background check, I'd be ok. Lifetime?, however, well lets just say I did some pretty mean stuff to my brother when we were kids All joking aside, I hope someone that needs a job and qualifies reads this and gets a good one as an early Xmas gift
  3. Tell her I want one too! J/K, but I did recently buy the Disney disc for calibration as well. Many reviews touted its user friendliness over that of the Munsil and Spears calibration disc. I like user friendly.
  4. Could someone please tell me what the biggest noticeable difference is when adding Dean's crossovers in? Dean, feel free to weigh in yourself, I just thought someone might save you the time I presume it helps with the somewhat sharp/harsh characteristic of the horn loaded speaker.
  5. I've had stuff say "delivered" and it wasn't, a handful of times. Each time it showed up the next day. Good luck!
  6. He just grew those out to get the backing paper off of the bitumax
  7. Yes, you are after all, looking for someone to drop $1700 on a luxury item for themselves, two weeks before Christmas. I'd just wait until after the holidays if a price drop isn't in the cards right now. Best of luck to you in your sale and Happy Holidays!
  8. Ha, we all started somewhere. At least you had a sub Haha yep. I think an rsw-15 will be the last major piece in my ht/2.1 channel music puzzle! If you ever come across a cherry one please let me know (especially if the grill is intact...I have two young girls under 4. I'd hate to think of what they'd do to the exposed woofer). Wow, I'm surprised I spark so much discussion on my very first post! What fun! Thanks for all the great input everyone. I will look into some of the other subs...but I must admit, I think my heart is set on a cherry rsw-15 to match my rf7s. I might just have to be patient... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You'll be happy with this decision. Only because I don't have room for anymore subs in my room, I will keep an eye out for you IMO the Cherry is way nicer to look at then the Black one, so definitely hold out for that if you can. Make sure that you're utilizing Searchtempest, or the like, when searching for Klipsch gear. CL can be very limited and Searchtempest will at least open up some options, hopefully. Good luck!
  9. Aha, I get it, and that does make sense. Sounds like Scrappy is looking more for HT use. I do want something that looks like high end furniture. As well as a sub that is very musical. HT is secondary so I'm not looking for absolute power. Just clean, punchy, deep bass, both in music as well as movies. I'm not looking for the depths here, my walls couldn't handle that and
  10. We don't miss a beat, huh? Someone is watching every sale, everywhere, lol. This package would already be mine if I lived in his town. Or, if it were cherry I would have driven there. It's a few hundred more than I paid for my identical setup with an RSW-15 on top, but it's still a good deal.
  11. if you cannot find a place for it let me know and I will make it go away for you and I know you can find a place for the cash ! Haha, I'll second that!
  12. Ha, we all started somewhere. At least you had a sub
  13. I dont agree with the "Much better bang for your buck" sentiment, necessarily. Perhaps if buying new, but certainly you can't be referring to the used market as well? You spent $1200'ish on your 18's that came kit form correct? I could have four RSW-15's, for less than that, if I got two more for the price that I did for my first two RSW-15's. And these things are gorgeous, stunning, not even mentioning performance. I get that you love ANY thing other than Klipsch subs, lol. But let's not forget about the used market when giving guidance . They aren't THAT rare. I could find you one or two right now, I'm sure. At a great price, well that may take a bit longer, but still doable.
  14. I'll check this out with the Twin RSW-15's I'm anxious for the results as well!
  15. People who own an RC-7 typically keep them. Not sure Christmas would make them all of a sudden want to sell it. "Oh Hey, it's that time of year again, you know, where I get rid of all of this REALLY hard to come across older gear and buy some new dime-a-dozen stuff!"

    SOLD

. Yes it can and the cost is not bad Is the extra 250w module included with the sale, therefore only requiring the purchase of one more to go to 7 channel? Or was it sent back in exchange?
  17. If you have the itch for an amp, sooner or later you will buy one, that is what a lot have or doing, lol. I agree with you My thought is more along the lines of getting a larger two channel amp then this, or mono blocks, to power the RF-7's. So the mention of it putting out a higher wattage was intriguing. However, I'm actually skeptical that I'd even notice a difference unless I jumped into the 500w category. But really I think it's just the elusive upgrade bug biting me again. Sneaky bugger. I've been eyeing the XPA-2 for along time now, as well as the XPA-1's. Now with their new XPR line out, prices are becoming more within range on the first gen XPA line. That's good for those of us who already like Emotiva and are sold on their products. But I've read good things about Acurus and really I'm open to anything new and appealing, at the right price. There is a Parasound HCA-3500 twin mono block for sale on Audiogon that looks pretty darn sweet. For $1500, that is. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-parasound-hca-3500-twin-mono-blocks-in-one-chassis-2013-10-29-amplifiers-94560-newark-ca
  18. Hmm, interesting thoughts. I do recall that thread about the Darblet as well, now that you mention it. I still wonder though why they don't just hire this guy or buy his patents?
  19. Yes, please provide a picture for better suggestions. I wouldn't use the G-17 as a center. I use the Gallery series in one of my living rooms and although I think they're great I still don't think that I'd mix them with quintets. If i had other options anyways.
  20. As a recently new owner of an Oppo 93, I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. I, like most, had been using whichever DVD/BluRay player that we happened to own, without giving much thought to it. Anyhow, I had heard of this small miracle called a Darbee before but I've never viewed anything on one, nor have I ever seen one in person. Interestingly though, Oppo appears to have paired up with them and now offer an Oppo - Darbee version for $100 bucks more. Kinda funny, why not just buy the patents/rights?, but whatever. Maybe they weren't for sale Anyone tried out one of these and have an opinion or review to share?
  21. Ok, help me with a question here and try not to just talk me into this. I can do that just fine on my own, thanks Currently I'm using my receiver to power just the rears @ 140wpc, and an XPA-5 for the fronts/center/sides. How much of a difference do you suppose this'll make if I use it to power my RF-7's and leave the XPA-5 (200wpc) to handle the other 5 channels. This would effectively relegate my receiver to "pre" status while leaving me with 250wpc for the fronts and 200wpc for the rest. As opposed to 200wpc for the main five speakers and 140wpc for the rears. I know that the 140w is plenty for my rears, in my room. My system gets screaming loud, with clarity, as is. So, I tend to think that the improvement will be only marginal....thoughts?
  22. Yup. This would seem to be the easiest by far, for us, sorry Chad
  23. He stated "I see in another post a recommendation of a $2,000 sub, I would like to spend less.". I gather from this that he never intended on spending that much. As he shouldn't Not when you can get the value of an RSW, IMO.
