  1. Looks almost exactly like the ones I took out of my LS (mine aren't as dusty... [*-)]). I built new crossovers to replace them with.
  2. That would mean that AltmanEars would have 20 feet behind him. Lots of extra space back there. I just rearranged my living room, and now have my LS only 8ft apart, center to center. In from the side walls a bit now. I sit farther back than I could before, at around 13 ft., and the imaging and soundstage are much better. They are also firing straight into the room. Don't you love this place? Bruce
  3. Tap water in most locations has too many chemicals in it, but a $30 pitcher w/filter can remove them. If you make tea or coffee with filtered water you don't need to use as much tea or coffee and will get a much better taste. The fluoride in most municipal water supplies reacts with aluminum cookware, putting aluminum into your system. Fluoride will begin to replace the iodine in your system, and can serve almost the same function except that fluoride is around in huge quantities and is toxic. (higher iodine levels will also protect your teeth, if I have read correctly.) Apsertame (Nutrisweet), the sweetener in most diet soft drinks, is also not good for you. It is a mood altering drug and can cause vision problems. Other soft drinks use corn syrup as a sweetener, which has its own problems.
  4. DUDE !!!!!!!!!! I will take that comment as an attempt at humor !!! And I don't think that is even pointed at you. AltmanEars... the Jubs in the literature are the full commercial versions... some of the other folks who have dressed theirs up need to post pics for you.
  5. Marvel

    Will it take off?

Is the woodchuck on a conveyor belt, designed to move as fast as the woodchuck chucks? I've always wondered...How much ground could a groundhog grind if a groundhog could grind ground?
  6. Perhaps lack of humility would be a better description. Did you figure out the dryer lint, yet... [] ...as I sit here with my own, far more expensive VOM on my desk, this is the easiest and simplest way, if they are not color coded or marked in some other way. This is a committee here, and committees always look for the hardest solutions to the simplest problems.
  7. I was thinking that it would not be that big a deal to have the 402 horns painted the way many have done with their Oris horns. Like the ones in this pic.
  8. Long before I got my Klipsch, I had my JBLs... about the size of Heresies. My wife didn't mind them, nor did she ever mind when I had friends over and I strung mic. cables through the house and we recorded. Let's see, we'll put the drum kit in the kids bedroom... and.... What a saint she was.
  9. And who says no one wants to get "plug uglies"? [Y][Y][Y][Y][Y]
  10. Geez, don't you just hate it when that happens? Yeah, you can do it that way, but that's a pain if you haven't done it before. Beats pulling the wire back out though, lol. I've only blown up one led, and that was on a bench power supply. It was one of those head slappers where I forgot to put in the resistor when I was breadboarding a project.
  11. A small battery won't put enough current through the led to blow it. But a 330 ohm resistor will make it work with a small battery.BUT, that won't help him as you need to complete the circuit and the wire is in the wall already. If the wire is like lamp cord/zip cord, the wire is usually coded by: 1. One conducter is silver colored wire the other copper. 2. All the markings are printed on the insulation, on only one of the conductors. 3. One of them will have ridges running the length, the other will be smooth. This wire usually isn't plenum rated or rated for in-wall installations. In-wall will usually have color coded wire inside another jacket of some kind.
  12. Good grief! I thought it was only twins....[8-)]
  13. Now you've caught the sickness, too. I don't think you can take shots for it either... [:^)]
  14. Same as at the old cathedral. I knew it would be fun when you posted the pic of the menu at the ferry terminal. My gf and I took the ferry from HK to Macau. We stayed on Taipa for four days (middle island), and did a lot of sight seeing. Crossed into the mainland, took a bus back to Shenzhen, where we took the train north to Nanchang, where she teaches English. Very cool Trey!
  15. Trey, We seemed to have been some of the same places... Macau was absolutely beautiful. My avatar was taken there as well, at Our Lady of Penha Chapel.
  16. But you have the twins... and they...[:#]
  17. Or, you could run a 4-foot level (straightedge) horizontally, flush with the flange, and measure the distance to the front of the horn (on each side of the horn...average both measurements to find the depth). Do dat make cents? Now you are starting to use your head... that's not fair!
  18. Where's the pictures? [*-)] I-85 is awful, as is the North-South I-75, depending on the time of day. I want to see them, really. Mark got NEW MWMs? Hmmmmmm.... Most importantly, Christie, I am glad you had a safe trip. Bruce
  19. I had a set of Chorus IIs in my house for a while. I liked them a lot better than the Cornwalls they had set up at Indy. They were really nice, and sounded more tonally balanced than the Corns. Maybe it was the boom in the Cornwall's bass I didn't like. The footprint of the Chorus IIs is easier to deal with.
  20. Bjoern I'm in northern Georgia, with the temps hovering around freezing to +10 degrees C. And I am in my house alone...I can't go off and leave the stove. I could, but I just don't want to. My late wife and I put it in, mostly for a backup, for when the power is out and my central heat isn't working. Summers are 32 C and higher.
  21. Love the wood stove. Do you use it regularly in the Winter? I hasn't been cold enough, long enough, where I can be home to watch mine. Bruce
  22. Most of the cabs are VW Santanas.... They hold up very well.
  23. The buses will take you out if you aren't paying attention, too. I liked all the electric bicycles and motor scooters. Eight lanes of traffice driving in six lanes.... that's it.
  24. Try out a regular music store that sells guitars and P.A. gear. They often rent equipment, too. You don't really need something big. One of the box mixers with six cahnnels would works great for this. They usually have an input with RCAs for pluging in CD players, tape decks. Rentals are often 10-15% of the cost of the gear, so don't get more than you need. Tell them the coverage area and what you are wanting to do. Guitar Center (and the like) isn't set up for that, but a locally owned strore probably could do it. Bruce
  25. Richard, Are the vertical supports ( 1 ) really vertical? If they are, can you measure from the front of them to the front of the horn? Then measure the face of the mount between the driver and the flange ( 2 ). Subtract the two... Just a thought.
