  1. Picking out what you is like is a destination, just how costly in the end, lol.
  2. My little 8 in klipsch sub is still running strong since 2011. No plate amp problem.
  3. As a general rule, Thee way speakers don't have have to compromise on the crossover frequencies to cover or blend the tweeter, midrange or bass. The bottom line is what sounds good to you! Heritage speakers earned their reputation for a reason. Doing HT, get a sub for the 7"s or Heresy.
  4. Fourth choice, RC 64. I used it in my HT with both the RF 7's abnd 7II's. Room correction left no issues with timber matching in a 9.4.8 system. Just sold the 7II's and will list the RC 64 soon for local pickup, lol. It is a robust speaker and can keeping with almost any setup.
  5. I looked up the amp and it is 9 W. How large is the room? With bookshelf speakers and small towers, a subwoofer is needed and not an option if you want good bass and add some headroom for the midrange and Hi's. I have an all digital setup and the source can make a difference like, 24 vs 32 bit recordings.
  6. If using an AVR with a phono connect, and all the parts work well together: the soundbar may give you the extra bass you are looking for.
  7. The RC 64 is a very strong speaker with the 6 1/2 in. woofers. They should keep up with most of the Klipsch lines of Reference speakers RF 63, RF 82 series, and the RF 7 series. Timber matching is not a problem when using auto correction for music and HT.
  8. I see guys with Mc 1.2 Kw amp driving systems using only a few watts. No distortions no need for more power.
  9. Oophs, I am on the wrong thread. Sorry. I have not owned an Onkyo avr for years. Make sure the avr and monitor are set to pass through and ARCe.
  10. Everything is working fine now. I can see the menus have things setup as expected. It took the remotes and receiver a day to reacclimate to being used. This stuff has been just sitting for several years. Xmas came today with some new Focal 926 speakers for 2 ch. A truly nice addition if you like vocals, jazz and a sparkling top. Great to see you.
  11. I have multiple amps and other audio gear all in like new condition and fully functional. See my signature to see their application in my system. I Nuke NU 3000(X3) and I Nuke 6000 (X3) watt amps for $200 and $250 respectively Dayton UM 18 subwoofer drivers (X4) $ 250 local pickup Chicagoland. RC 64 which was paired to RF 7II without timber mismatch. Can be use with RF 63, RF 82's, RF 7. You can't buy a better center for these speakers. Pioneer SC 35 Elite avr for $250. Fully functional and was used as a preamp for tube amp. Great to decode audio SACD, Tidal ect. 7 channels each with 140 -200 peak watts per channel. This can be use as an avr or integrated amp, transport for power. Acurus power amp|5X200 for $ 700. Fully functional, small caps and parts tuned up. On ligjht is out currently. This amp has been use in my HT. see signature for synergistic equipment. Pic's and correspondence via Klipsch messages for more detail, or pic's. These are non-negotiable prices. All the listed equipment is on the internet for more details.
  12. Problem solved. The no picture, sound was not an avr problem. The Roku 4k stick was bad. The Roku interacts with the CEC (ARC, HDMI Control All, etc) on some AVR's depending on monitor age and avr age.
  13. If I use the preouts on the avr the avr does not connect to the tube amp. In my other setup, HT(see signature) I used the Yaqin connected to a Samsung avr which had preouts. I was hoping not to have to use a BD in this system.
  14. looking for the best way to hookup Quad model S 4 to a Yaqin MC 13 S integrated amp for 2 channel and Pioneer Elite for HT. I have a Niles spliter for the Yaqin and Elite avr. The problem is I can't use the preouts on the elite because the elite avr will not recognize the Yaqin amp. Do I need a second preamp of some type. I only use digital media so a phono preamp is not an option.
  15. Lots of work for little reward, especially for HT.
  16. It is normal for impedance to vary with music. Dips can below 3 or up to well above 8. Most amp will push the 7"s without a problem. You will cause not only speaker damage but, damage to your ears. On my tube amp in a 20x20 room open to other spaces I rarely exceed 3 watts.
  17. The key point to remember is that Atmos speakers are not designed nor are FH speakers designed to standout. They are not meant to standout. The center and mains are the main show. Rear speakers will have a bigger volume influence.
  18. Two, the magic number. Chase the skirts for the poor running backs
  19. It is common to put some type of damping material in a sub. Just think, it is a box with styrofoam tuned to a certain frequency based on the driver. Simple to make and can cost an arm and a leg, lol.
  20. Buy an amp from China and have all the fidelity without the high price. Price does not equate to fidelity. A good used Mc Intosh will work if you like spending money.
  21. Tube rolling is interesting but, it has it's limits on fidelity.
  22. These amps are base on popular designs used in the U.S. and can be worked on if needed by qualifying technicians.
  23. I have a similar amp from China and have no regrets or need to spend more, since these are excellent.
