  1. JJK, I never heard Rain, but in my mind you are totally to the nth degree correct about the harmonies in "If I Fell". I can't wait to hear it in the original mono on my "new to me" Cornscala's I just picked up a coupla days ago. I should be receiving my new Marantz CD6004 player tomarrow and check it out. Like I said, I can't wait. Steve
  2. If it were me, I would carefully take it out, carefully tape it up making sure only having the areas with corrosion showing, and then carefully wirebrushing the corrosion to get as smooth a surface as possible. Then carefully spray paint the area with as close a match of the original color as possible. Then carefully remove the tape when dry and then very carefully installing the speaker back into the cabinet. I have to mention you have to do this carefully. I treat everything carefully that was produced in 1954 - including my two 1954 Packards and also....................................myself.
  3. Tom.....................you are one funny guy! - lol.
  4. Sorry shake, but I get lost looks when I mention Klipsch Heritage or Palladiums. Maybe their waiting for the market to pick up. Who knows?
  5. Let us know how it goes, and send some pictures also!
  6. More of a commitment and more maintenance, I agree, but isn't it worth it? I would think so.
  7. Try not to play them too loud.........that might help also.
  8. Thanks, I hadn't seen the review. Now if they could only test the Klipschorn.............[<)]
  9. Just imagine what it they would sound like with an old tube amp!...[]
  10. I would think that those Palladiums, being so efficient would be almost overwhelmed by the power of the Marantz amp. But I could be wrong.[*-)]
  11. I went the old way, got an H.H. Scott 299C amp and am having it rebuilt to new spec's by Craig. Should be sweeetly sweet!
  12. It's really insane.......I live in the middle of Long Island, N.Y. which is like 2 million people stuck in a sardine can and I cannot find any places to see or hear any Klipschorn for my listening 2-channel room or the Palladiums for my 5.1 theater room. My wife has no idea what these sound like.
  13. And also anyone know where I can get a copy to see of the review?
  14. Have to admit, they are beautiful speakers, visually that is....... If Klipschorns are a 10 out of 10, would the Jub's be 10.5 ??? I don't know much about them myself.
  15. I'm dying here.....................has he gotten home yet?[O]
  16. I truly believe Dale's bias on his 7591's is really off..........Really!...[*-)]
  17. I've haven't heard them but I have heard of them -- the ESS AMT1B's that I recently picked up at a garage sale. The design (shape) was unmistakable from the road when I drove by and picked them up for $50. Nice condition also. Only trouble is one speaker is totally dead so I hope it's a fuse - gotta open her up to find it, though. Wish me luck! Steve
  18. Didn't Paul Klipsch do that in 1934? ...............................lol
  19. That's true Cask05, but with so many people mentioning K-horns, I gotta look into them! Steve
  20. Hi, I've asked you guys questions before about room sizes for Cornwalls and got great feedback - (the good kind, not the bad kind-lol). So after a bit of back and forth with the wife, in the house I'm planning to build - the dedicated 2 channel room went from a bad 12'x12' by 8 foot high to 12'x15' by 9 foot high. Now, thanks to LarryC's photo of his Klipschorn's in his white room, my wife likes the look of his K-horns set in the corners and has given her ok for getting them over the Cornwalls. I'm a lucky guy! My questions are - Would going to K-horns mean 10 foot ceilings be better than 9 foot, or is staying with 9 foot ok? And how about placement - would there be much difference in sonics setting them up against the 12 foot wall as compared to setting them up against the 15 foot wall? I will be using an H H Scott 299C ( newly refurbished ) to power them so I'm thinking they should sound fairly awesome. Thanks for all your help, really!!! Steve
  21. Sorry, hadn't though of that - thanks! Steve
  22. Wow, not 1 post in a week........am I in trouble for mentioning these speakers with true Klipsch speakers? Steve[*-)]
