  1. Yeah, I'm surprised he hasn't updated the photo. He told me about some Cornwalls he bought for 10 bucks and sold for a thousand. These weren't for me.
  2. I spoke with this fellow. They're KG 5.5 and KSW 200 subwoofer. Black, he has the grills. Not a bad deal, but the picture is misleading.
  3. https://columbus.craigslist.org/ele/5915018484.html not mine
  4. Nice! I use their Dayton Titanic drivers, which look very similar. I really enjoy them for music and movies.
  5. What's the difference between the TX-11A and non A? I have the A and it's killer.
  6. Nice comparison! I have really been getting a kick out of the T-5000s. I wondered how they compared, since they are so similar to the other two models. Mine benefited greatly from the Ti tweeters and recap. The history of the T-5000 is quite interesting also.
  7. Very interesting! What about replacing the K61 phenolic diaphragm with a Ti? It would extend higher. I know others have done this before, I'm just curious how it would measure and compare without crossover adjustments.
  8. Paint em black? I have to agree, pics make them look rough. I'm sure they rock though! Good luck with your sale.
  9. Yeah, the cabinets aren't as nice as the Chorus II (I have both). There's a lot of hot glue and many small corner braces inside. Surprisingly, the backs havent blown off mine either, so apparently it did the job. The plastic caps on the binding posts can rattle and buzz, but they're decent enough gold-plated. I really crank em though. Very nice drivers and crossover.
  10. Very interesting read, Oliver. I'm really enjoying my recapped T-5000 with Crites tweeters. ☺️ Keep us updated.
  11. Sweet! Thanks, I was able to find the resistor values on Parts Express site. What eq did you use for sealed subs? Nice work!
  12. Cool! What are the two horns? They look very similar. One is screw type and the other is bolt on? One looks a little longer? Keep us updated!
  13. Oh! I didn't realize the amp had those options. I bought it used without manual. Perhaps I can download the manual to get the details. Thanks!
  14. These are included in a lot of used stereo equipment I'm supposed to go check out. They seem pretty solid? I know they're not the copper woofer series, but they look like good quality bookshelves from a few years ago. Has anyone heard them? Compared them to other models? Thanks.
  15. I have a pretty hefty Dayton Titanic 12in Mk 3 subwoofer driver in storage, as well as an extra Bash 500 amp. Perhaps I could retro fit the cabinet. http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-tit320c-4-12-titanic-mk-iii-subwoofer-4-ohm--295-404
  16. Does anyone have one? It's a little older sub that's included with some used gear I'm looking at. Wondering how it sounds for music. Thanks
  17. I tried a pair years ago, but I'm not sure which model. It's an Audax soft dome in the center with horn loading, correct? Not compression drivers, like the Epics use. I certainly wouldn't turn them down if a pair showed up for the right price. The woofers have foam surrounds, I believe, which can fall apart and need to be refoamed. Not too hard, but one has to keep it in mind.
  18. I guess it doesn't matter now, anyhow. Lol. They're neat, but personally weren't my cup of tea. I like other big Carver amps, however.
  19. Blah, price went up to 950. Not cool.
  20. I owned a pair of those, and sold them for about twice that on Ebay. Good deal, if it's legit. They had nice punch and bass, but a little rolled-off on the top end. I think that's how they were designed to sound.
  21. Have you tried EQ? A warmer sounding vintage receiver? I enjoy vintage Sansui 9090 and the big Sansui G series with my Klipsch.
  22. Man, what a shitty situation! I've never heard of Buyer refusing shipment and reversing PayPal payment without an Ebay claim.
  23. I recently bought a pair of fairly rare T-5000, which are basically souped-up Heresy 2s in a large cabinet, with a 12" front firing passive. From what I gather, they're basically Fortes with a slightly different woofer. They KICK butt! Very spacious sounding, with low bass also. I mean vibrating the walls bass. Ive read the reviews of the Forte 1, and they were glowing. I wouldn't hesitate to jump on the Forte 1s. I have Chorus 2 in storage, and these T-5000 are damn close. Forte 1 are sweet.
