First of all Welcome! I agree with scrappy here - You will not ever regret having more center. You could very well find yourself wanting more from it if you get a smaller one, it carries the weight on movies so go as big as you can on this element! Good luck and enjoy!

I have the VSX 53 and I really like it. I use it as a pre though into an external amp. The only thing I don't like is the intermittent functionality of the internet remote. In other words, you have to adjust the eq with the music/movie not playing and it's cumbersome. I don't know if they've resolved this with the newer models, but this is my chief frustration with the Pioneer Elite. The sound quality is great though.

Yeah we're good and power came back up about 10 min ago. Kudos to our local utility for such a quick response! We were only down almost an hour. It rattles the nerves a little. We only had some drawers open in the kitchen. Some friends closer to the epicenter, lost a tv and pictures off the wall, etc.

Well in my neck of Alaska we have very little snow right now - but about 1:30 am local time we had a nice shaker that went on for some time. It was a magnitude 7.1 and we have no power. That's the biggest one I've experienced and that was quite humbling! Our Facebook feed is hopping, apparently we're all awake in our community! Some minor damage, but no injuries reported at this point. Whew! Just ran some numbers: If we had a $1.5B powerball applied directly to the $18.6T national debt EVERY DAY (without the debt accruing any interest), it would take a mere 12,400 days or just under 34 YEARS to be back in the green. Welcome to the forum! If it will fit - I'd highly recommend the 440C over the 250C. The more center, the better experience. It's often the weakest link and for HT, it's the most important piece. Good luck - post pics when it's all set up and enjoy!!!

This should have been a penalty. A chippy game goes nuts when refs let this go - even if he's not defenseless, that's a classic leading with the head at the head.
