  1. Depends on the size of the room really but I'd go with the 115 over that in a heartbeat.
  2. ^^^just think what's coming down the pipeline in the next 5-10 years. There are some neighborhoods out there already getting a gig per second of DL speed =^o
  3. ^^^I try to mention it to, but you always beat me to it, lol. I kinda figured it out on my own luckily tho. After I got a quote from my local place(which was still less than MSRP), the day before I was going to go buy the stuff I decided to call around. Boy am I glad I did, I was able to upgrade to the RF-82II +115 system in my sig instead of the RF-62II with a 112 and *still* paid less than I would have if I would have just went with their original quote.
  4. True! I thought about it tho....very briefly =^P I actually saw some Cornwall IIs (I think?) on there the other day. Not really in the need of any more speakers for the house tho, concentrating on my car now =^) Aurora, CO. It's about an 8 hour drive from where she's at. Luckily, she just got accepted for retraining and we are hoping that she goes to tech school next month so that we will be back together sooner than we thought. Her school will be 6 months long tho, but still better than the alternative.
  5. Ha, scrappy is always the first to say shop around. He is right tho! I saved a pretty penny by doing just that, DO NOT PAY MSRP, even if they offer a 'free sub'. You can get a way better deal, especially if you are buying 7.1. I also echo the SW-115 sentiments, I love mine.
  6. I would think it would have to come in multiple pieces or something...That would be crazy tho. Can't wait to see what comes out. I think I'm still pretty well off for at least the next few years+ with what I have.
  7. Hey everyone, I haven't been present on here much. I pop in every now and again, but I've been mostly researching car audio due to a new car purchase. I thought home audio was crazy to dig into...car audio is freakin insane! Anyways, the sad day: Due to getting a new job in the Air Force, I had to move and because there weren't any positions for my wife, she stayed behind in NM. Because we didn't know how long it would be before we were reunited, if you will, I ended up getting a 1 bedroom apartment. It's pretty small, so I had to put my Klipsch in a closet and that's probably where they will stay for the next year or so...booooo. I did keep the RB-81 IIs out for a 2 channel setup that will be in the bedroom, so it's not a complete loss, but dang I'm going to miss my 7.1. Luckily, I have a Harman Kardon HKTS 16 setup that was doing bedroom duty to get me through the next year. They are decent speaker for what they are, but you can definitely tell the difference. Just in the front stage the fullness just isn't there, which is to be expected since they are small speakers. The all around clarity isn't there either. I already can't wait to be able to get back into a house and hook my Klipsch back up. You don't know what you go until it's gone...
  8. I've been lurking around here a bit, but have been looking into car audio more now since I got a new vehicle and the stock system is garbage. Things are going pretty good. I just moved to Aurora, CO for my new job. Unfortunately, I had to get a 1 bedroom apartment for now until my wife can move with me, which should be (hopefully) around 8 months because she just got accepted for a new job as well and has to go to training for 6 months. Because of the 1 bedroom apt, I think I may end up leaving my Klipsch in the boxes until I get a house. Just not a whole lot of room in here so I may just hook up my Harmon Kardon speakers for the living room since they are small and the sub won't boom as much as the SW-115. I haven't quite decided yet. I may also put the RB-81s in my bedroom as a 2 channel setup for the heck of it since I will need some form of entertainment when my kid gets here since she will be sleeping in the living room. Basically, I had signed the lease on the 1 bedroom right before I found out my wife got her new job and was going to be leaving in October. Before we thought she wasn't going to be joining me for quite some time, otherwise I would have got a 2 bedroom. That's life I suppose. Really happy my wife will be getting here sooner than we previously thought tho =^)
  9. ^^^It's in the surround parameters menu. Dynamic compression (D.Comp) on your model.
  10. I just got a new tv(70"sharp led)oblivion was my first blue Ray to watch on it.very entertaining.I need to read manual on my avr.when I got the volume right for dialog the special effects would make my black lab leave the floor about 18" .do most or any avr's have a feature to adjust some of the difference in volume between the two.Dynamic volume? Not sure if your model has the option, but if it does that's what you are looking for. I usually watch mine on the 'evening' setting when my kid goes to sleep.
  11. The messed up thing is that it shouldn't cost all that much more for the company to include those extra discs, but you sure pay for them.
  12. Sounds pretty awesome, I'd love to check it out. The 3D was a bit too intense in that movie anyways. edit: Looks like there are theaters in Denver that offer it. I'm about to move up there so I will definitely go see what it's all about.
  13. What they said. Although if you have some time and some patience you can try it both ways and see which you prefer.
  14. Watched that last night. It was ok, something about it I just didn't like but it's worth a watch.
  15. my RC-62II sounds great, but I think you should mess around with what you have a bit more to see if you can fix the sound. Try changing the crossover to 80, might make a difference, might not, but it's a start and you can definitely try some other things that have been suggested in this thread as well =^)
  16. The link below is what I use, and they work perfectly. You can use screws to make it more stable, but I didn't find that necessary. Didn't want to put screws into the speakers anyways. THESE
  17. I'm sure you can still find some out there, you may just have to shop around. Check the authorized online dealers link on the site and go from there.
  18. That is odd about the oppo. When I hooked mine up I thought that the picture looked sharper than the PS3, as did my wife. I'd give it another shot, if the same thing happens, it has to be something else in the chain that is messing with the picture.
  19. My Netflix has been freezing lately.
  20. It doesn't sound as good now I bet =^P
  21. *Actually* lamps tend to add at least 4 dbs to the 20 Hz region, and they also help the audio fly through the air easier so it sounds better when it reaches your ears. Something to do with the reflections off of the inside of the lamp and the sound gets heated by the light bulb. True audiophile stuff, for real.
  22. You can also try a soft reset by unplugging the power cable from the back.
