  1. I have been using Hilti Putty Pads for our Home Theater build and they are around $5 each. I needed a few more so i went to my local Electrical Supply House where they sell the Hilti fire rated ones (what I have been using), and the Acoustical ones... The Acoustical ones are $.99 each! Wish I would have known this earlier as I bought 20 of the Hilti ones previously. I was told there is no need for the fire rated ones even though that is what most people get. These are grey, and appear to be identical other than the fire rating mix. I had just looked this morning at the Acoustical ones on line and they were over $3 each... So this was still a better deal plus I picked it up today.
  2. I had the opportunity to hear Pono a while back and I thought it sounded as good as any recording I had ever heard. It was definitely better than any portable device I have ever heard.
  3. doubtful because of the way the printer lays down layers when in use. This might get close though... http://blog.stratasys.com/2012/10/09/disney-research-light-up-the-future-with-3d-printing/
  4. I wonder if they could be made with a 3D printer and still be clear like that?
  5. Don't use the Audyssey mic for REW. I believe the Audyssey mic is calibrated for your AVR and will not give the desired results. I purchased the minidsp calibrated mic for REW.
  6. We had a problem in our garage where an outlet would keep shutting off... We tracked it down to a GFI outlet on the other side of the wall that was on the same circuit and was bad. Problem solved for us. Maybe you have a bad GFI outlet too.
  7. Wasn't Claude running it when you raved about his 1/4 pies? Why did you edit out your comments? You do know that when a post is quoted an email of the original is sent right?

  9. Or you can save some money and just get the Denon 4520ci, and use the amps for multi zones.
  10. This is what i found for you... (I only looked at the Audyssey models, hopefully this is not a forum violation by listing prices). Marantz SR5008 has 7.2 pre outs.... 11. Have you considered just doing the whole wall as a AT screen, and then get some black AT material to mask to whatever size you like the best? We are doing this on our setup so it will be the last screen we need to ever buy. As far as the AVR... Why not go with a lower end AVR that has the latest Audyssey and pre outs... Then you can just plug your amp in?
  12. If you go with a AT screen most of your problems will be solved...
  13. It is recommended that when looking straight ahead, your eyes should fall in the lower 1/3 of the screen. If I move it higher, this I would have to look up to view the screen thus causing strain on the neck and an uncomfortable position. I'll give it a try and see how it sounds without a center. I would rather have a dedicated center if I can make it work. I ran my setup without a center La Scala for a while and it was ok... I still preferred it with a center though. You could def go without a center until you found a smokin hot deal on another one though!
  14. Updated list... I only have the AA crossovers left now.
  15. What kind of AVR do you have? Won't the AVR take care of the delays for you automatically?
  16. I agree. I would rid of the baffle wall or mod it to make it work with the La Scalas, and go with a full AT screen wall... Then just mask the screen with acoustically transparent black material.
  17. I just figured whatever I bought id just donate it when I get back here for a tax write off next year. You can donate it to me and write it off your taxes if you like.
  18. No... Out of cash right now. I hope to get them together in the next month or two.
  19. Not with the present false wall. I have 23" from the very back wall to the edge of the screen. I could move the screen forward a few inches if needed as it is held against the wall with bungee cord for easy removal. I don't think they would sound good the height of the screen as the horn and mid horn would be way above ear level. Maybe if I flipped them upside down? You could angle them down aiming toward the MLP... I think that they would sound fine then Moving the screen a few inches wouldn't be hard I think and would not detrack from the look I think. I would move the screen about a foot to account for the speakers being angled downward. You would have to dummy the speakers in position to figure out exactly how far to move it... Unless you are good at Descriptive Geometry.
  20. That solved it! Thanks for figuring it out for me... I always have it remember password and auto log on. Strange that I apparently changed it.
  21. I must have inadvertently changed my settings for my status to offline and now i can't see how to change it back. How do I get my status to show correctly?
  22. Do you have room behind the screen? It looks like you might be able to put them behind the screen, and at the screen height... You would just need an AT screen and be done.
  23. I like your plan Joe, however that means I need to buy the van here, and that was what I was trying to avoid, h-ll iv got two full size pickups, but they are open in the back so a van sounds like the way to go. Just rent a uhaul and do a road trip around the USA picking up horns!
  24. Yeah, you got a killer deal on your speaker setup as I recall... I wouldn't be surprised if the savings financed a big part of your HT.
