From what I understand the number of channels is not that important... It is that they are doing object orientating. I have heard they are working on a home version that would allow you to get by with 5.1 if that is all you had. If you only have 5 it will direct the info to one of the 5. I am assuming that each speaker should have good dispersion and be spacious so you could hear the full benefit of the object orientating.

Has anyone went to one? I went last night and watched the latest Captain America movie, and it was the best audio I have ever heard in a theater! I had heard it was good but I was shocked as to how good it was. It reminded me of the first time I went to a THX theater years ago... So much better than anything else that was available at the time. This theater had 6 speakers on each wall, 12 on the ceiling and 4 on the back wall. I went down to the screen to see how many speakers were behind the screen and I couldn't see any. I am assuming that they were above and below the screen (which struck me as odd), which might be the way they do it in an Atmos theater since they use height channels. If you haven't went to a Atmos theater you deserve it, IMO. I went at 1030pm and there was only 4 others in the theater... Plus it only cost $10.

When I post pics... I just use photobucket as it is much easier.

apparently, you've never had a rodent problem...they are GOOD for that... Until you have a yard that smells like cat pee. Our neighbor has a bunch of feral cats and our fence smells like pee when ever the wind blows.

Wait until you hear Pono... I heard it on a high end JTR setup and it was the best I have ever heard played back on a system.

It makes since that the option would be there as some forums require xxx amount of posts before they can post pictures. Another thing I have seen on some forums your posts have to be approved until you get to xxx number of posts. Iam assuming that either of these would mean that pms can also be restricted until you hit xxx number of posts.

Is that something we can do, or something the forum must do?

I think they would be good for the voice of god channels in the upcoming multi channel setups.

I remember years ago when I was waiting for my amplifier... I had my La Scalas and my roommate had a boombox... We hooked them up to the headphone jack, and cranked them. Everyone in the dorm was coming over to find out who had the new king of the dorm stereo... Imagine the look on their faces when they saw the La Scalas being powered by a boombox! LOL

last 6.1 anything i have seen was a dvd copy of triple "x" when i was like 17. id 75% of the blu rays i own are 5.1 and the other 25% (newer action flicks and pixar usually) are 7.1 tracks. Star Wars is 6.1

You might want to try some Locktite on the threads to stop them from working their way out... Just make sure it is the blue and not the red, or you won't get them out without a torch. I am going to have my 1/4 pie bass bin right next to it and one of my DTS10 subs right on the other side of the bass bin. I like the idea of the metal strips though. Maybe I will head over to a surplus electronics place, and see what they have for a LAN rack for cheap. In my last house I bought a 7' tall 4 post rack with shelves for $100.

Are you using metal rack shelves too? If not what are you using for shelves? If so do you have any vibration problems?

We are planning on doing a rack for all of our equipment in our HT... The plan is to make a rack that sits at an angle on the left wall (of the AT screen), and build a 2x4 frame around it that will go from the floor to the ceiling and then make a frame for a door for the front access and cover the door, and the whole angled frame with acoustic fabric. We will still have access from the rear for connections etc. When you look at it it will just be black fabrics just like the masking of the screen.

Why would it make a difference whether it was at the speaker terminals or the amp?
