  1. No I think it was like less than $600... It was the daily deal and when they sold out it went back to the normal price.
  2. Yeah, I sent a friend over to him and he got a sweet deal on the x4000 too.

    Did Denver ever even score?

    Super Bowl

I watched it until just a few minutes ago. Denver might just as well go home if they are not going to play. If they would have played like this during the season they would not have even made it to the playoffs.
  5. So you are saying the Quietrock is less, or that the drywall/green glue is less?
  6. "Made in USA" markings are only required if the product is being made for markets outside the USA. Which means in general that if there is no markings it is made for the US market or was imported with illegal markings and was not caught.
  7. Take it apart and use it for a project case.
  8. Would these work for running the wire to the woofer? I was thinking of getting these and drilling a hole through the cabinet the size of the can and then putting a small amount of silicone around it and shove them in the hole. By doing this I eliminate one more connection break. I decided not do do the whole speaker flat black and I have skinned the sides with an additional 1/4" of finished Maple plywood. I was going to finish up sanding the edges today but it is raining. Luckily I covered everything up last night with plastic. The sides will be Maple and, front, and rear will be flat black on the bass bin. As far as the top... I am looking at corian, granite, smoked glass, or mdf painted black. I am still tossing around as to whether or not I want to build a new upper box for the horn or have it displayed out in the open.
  9. Can you give me the dimensions for the horn, please? I am trying to see if I can make my top section to where i could go to the 510 without too much trouble later on.
  10. Here is a new one... i stand alone and watch the clock i only wait for it to stop and in the room locked up inside me the cutout magazines remind me i sit and wait alone in my room and in my room against the wall there is picture very small a photograph i took some years ago it shows a picture of the room i know i sit and wait alone in my room
  11. And while she's Straightening her stockings Her hair Has gotten wet Oh, this rain It will continue Through the morning As I'm listening To the bells Of the cathedral I am thinking Of your voice... And of the midnight picnic Once upon a time Before the rain began... I finish up my coffee It's time to catch the train
  12. First buy a good tube amp, the bigger the better, there fixed that for you, and your ears will be happy. Next power this amp with a solar array, the bigger the better, there fixed that for you, now your wallet will be happy. and 'NO' A/C, Zero, Nada. Sorry, this just looked like fun, 12 channels you say? are you trying to cut power cost or what ? Yes I am trying to cut power consumption... Our Denon 4520 draws 1 amp just turning it on. Now granted with the Klipsch it doesn't go up from there but I believe a AVP with a minimal power 12 channel amp would cut it down maybe in half or more.
  13. What I am trying to do is come up with a 12 channel amp that would consume almost no A/C... I figured a 25wpc or smaller amp should do the job with reserves. What do you think I should do?
  14. So which ones were good? None. There was a nice clarity with my La Scalas with one one of the small 15 wpc Toppings, but as said above no bass, The big Topping (TP60) was a total fail. Tried it with my K-horns on a whim back in December (got a good price from Amazon) and it lasted only a couple of min. If have never heard the system sound more lifeless. So the "D" chip amps are better?
  15. In another thread there is a guy that was using the "D" chip amps and compared them to a tube amp. I was hoping these might fare as well.
  16. I just picked up one of these to try out... If it works out I might just get 5 more, and call it a day. When I opened the box I was very impressed as to the build quality, it has a nice machined aluminum front faceplate and it is very compact.
  17. My center channel is mounted on its side and the Denon sets it to 40hz, while the other La Scalas are set to 60hz. The only other difference is the center is a Rodgers La Scala which has an identical crossover.
  18. thats rmk from Avs. Those subs are long gone from his setup. JTR rules his room now. In fact he is selling his current JTR setup to buy their new flagship products when they come out. I'm going over to his place in March to check it out.
  19. I didn't realize the Industrial didn't go as far down as the consumer version. OOPS... I just looked up the specs and they are the same... For some reason I was thinking they went to 35hz. I know my Denon set my center to 40hz.
  20. I will soon have a pair of Danley DTS-10 subs to make my 11.2 setup. Klipsch La Scalas for the front 3, KP3002 for the width channels, HIPs for the heights, and side surrounds, and SR70s for the rear surrounds. I have no intention of trying to get max SPL... I just want to be able to listen to movies at or below reference level and have the bass be all over the room with a house curve.
  21. I remember years ago I tried making some rg6 speaker cables as Sumiko was marketing some and they were the rave... I made them and they made my amp go into oscillation. Sounded like a really messed up surround sound with my ML Sequels.
  22. I have heard that it is no better than 2 pieces of sheet rock with green glue in between them... Just more expensive and ready to use.
