  1. Yeah, the seller's statements are setting people up in both the care for and the price of the speakers.
  2. I agree with your entire statement and I only want to comment and enquire about Sunlight and finishes. As some already know, the Sun will darken Cherry and bleach / fade Walnut, regardless of the protective finish = keep them from direct Sunlight. With an oil finish, new oil will reseal to protect the veneer and bring the color back: easy fix. I know that polyurethane finish, though a lot more durable than oil, can still fade due to UV, oxidation, and such, but a new coat can't simply be applied to an old coating. I have never refinished any furniture that had a polyurethane or lacquer finish, but I have studied in woodworker's magazines, Google U, and YouTube University. My question is, has anyone here refinished furniture that had a polyurethane finish?
  3. I would say that we've had worse trolls on here, but that might be taken as a challenge.
  4. Even as much as you hate me, I wish that you would have scored these.
  5. That is not something that I said. You bought them for $100. If you spend $300 more (not that it will cost that amount) to get them to where they should be, you can experience them for what they should be and then flip them for a profit and buy what you want.... it's a win win. That you did. You said that you 'repair audio equipment professionally and also take exception with the practice of just flipping' so where are the professional repair(s)?
  6. They belong to you and I have no right to tell you what to do with your speakers. Having said that, it still saddens me when people part them out, rather than fix what's wrong with them. Some flippers take perfectly working speakers and part them out because they can fetch a few more bucks than if sold as a working speaker. Most people who might buy the gutted cabinets will replace the drivers and networks with whatever it takes to make them look right and will represent them as Klipsch wedges, and VERY few will put them back together with equivalent components. You're 99% to where many want to be, I see no reason to not reap the 100% that you can have. I have been fortunate to have enjoyed similar speakers (Heresy 1, HII, KP262, KP250, KP25 II, and such). I have never had the wedges, but I hope to be as fortunate as you to have the chance to hear what they offer.
  7. A lot of people have tried lots of things to fix this.
  8. Good luck with your negotiations. If you were close, I am sure that I could trade with you something that you could use.
  9. I agree. It always bothers me to hear when people butcher the Klipsch speakers. If they need a part to make them right, then make that happen rather than parting them out.
  10. I am sure that the statement wasn't meant to be directed at anyone. We have seen flippers grab goods only to flip them for profit rather than letting someone grab a good deal, as you did.
  11. 1) I don't believe any of those will really showcase the Chorus, but any of those might sound okay. To really 'showcase' them, a lot more power is needed. I like the Luxman R117 on my Chorus II, but it only had 160 watts. 2) I never used my Marantz PM8006 on Chorus, so it might sound okay on yours. I would go with option 3.
  12. Are the ones that you have that you're not using aluminum?
  13. C1 for $1425 plus $120 shipping Cornwall II $921 local pick up only
  14. The Garage Sale here on the forum, if someone here is looking for some Cornwall. A lot of members have all they want, so it's no easy to sell here. If you list them on Facebook Marketplace, there are a lot of tire kickers. You might find someone local, so shipping isn't an issue. The last pair that I saw that sold on Ebay went for over $1,400, plus shipping.
  15. That was a great movie, with great music and great voiceovers. Taarna is ideal 😍
  16. Maybe similar to what they found when using one woofer in the KPT1802.
  17. Tripple check that they are wires correctly. Speakers wired out of phase will do just what you're saying and it's difficult to catch because they are both 'playing' when we feel them.
  18. It was similar to this thread: The real difference is that Neil bought them and built some SH with some of those parts.
  19. Sorry, this whole thread is just for a lol. I posted it because the seller was listing them as "early 70s klipsch" which we know that they're not Klipsch. What is surprising is that 3 years later, they show up here again. My latest post about the 'newer version' is the same, only for laughs...I mean, what a mess the second pair are. Again, it's only to lighten this place up. Here's the emoji you wanted:
  20. Congratulations to both parties. Codewritinfool, I'm sure it wasn't easy to choose who got them. You're no doubt a virtuous person and one of the good ones on this forum.
  21. Me too. I wanted to AB them against my Khorns. I have my predictions on which will do what.
  22. Until I bought the MCM1900s, my heaviest speakers were the Polk SDA SRS at 185 pounds each.
  23. Having never owned any, I can't argue with that. Even the Heritage series receives similar statements as 'bright' sounding. I try to encourage listeners to tune their equipment to the horn speakers, rather than the paper cone speakers that they were used to.
  24. Sorry Chief, I didn't mean for my question to sound like an attack, it was a legitimate question. The exchange was a lot less aggressive than your and Claud's battle the other day. Your last words were that your statement to him was "It wasn't a compliment". There is a problem in the Forum and everyone wonders why it continues to be permitted, which makes more people make the remarks that you edited out of this thread. As people are saying, it is cancerous.
