  1. I built mine specifically for a space in my house in MN when I completed the lower level in 2003. The bar is simply oak plywood, oak crown molding, oak 1x stock, and 2x4s. It is technically 3 pieces (top, long front and corner) that I bolt together and screw the top down from the underside. I've moved twice across the country and it breaks down easily and is transported easily. It's 8 feet long, 44 inches tall and 20 inches deep. You can stand comfortably or sit at the tall chairs that I have for it.
  2. No price posted but they list African mahogany http://intermountainwood.com/omaha_stocklist.htm These guys say they have sheet goods but no idea what they have or prices. http://plywoodinc.com/
  3. +1 I came into 100 plus records in 2005 or so from someone who had accumulated them throughout the 80s and 90s. Some of it was "newer" vinyl but there was a fair amount of vinyl from the 70s. He stored it the right way and aside from some cover wear, the vinyl played well and sounded great.
  4. I don't copy the pic from photobucket. Instead I click the links on the right. I believe I choose just the URL (direct) and there is my pic. Firewalls at work. Boo!
  5. I've had a couple of Denons as well: AVR-3801 & AVR-3310CI. I really liked those as well, they both sounded great, and also never let me down, though I didn't own the 3310 for all that long, and I have read where those have had HDMI board issues as well. I like my denon AVR 3801 so much I bought a second one for another system. Great 7.1 with pre outs And inputs for the oppo 103.
  6. An academy center to get to 5.0 and 4 tickets to yankees redsox in April.
  7. When I finished my basement several years ago the one thing I regretted was not using more dimmers and zones for lighting. At the time I had no grand plans for sound (I know right??) and I basically had two zones of lighting with on/off capability only. I did all my own electrical so I coulda have done anything I wanted for almost no real extra costs. I guess the big take away is plan for later even if not using today. It's easy to run power and wire/cable now and keep it buried in a box for later than to try to retro fit. Good luck. Jealous as I don't currently have the space I would like and would love a build project.
  8. Final one, another flight over the Rockies.
  9. From a flight into Phoenix coming in from Tucson. It looks really cool on my ipad...
  10. Flat Iron building in NYC from the Empire State
  11. Thanks. I thought that to be the case. Will have to go thru the setup as the avr currently is set for 2 channel listening only - no extra speaks.
  12. I have no sub and no room in my current set-up. I do have corns, kg4, and an academy center so I could do 3.0 or 5.0. Simple question on avr set up - keep the front speakers set to large as I have no sub? I think the corns have plenty of low end to hold me over for a bit until I get some more space and/or the sub bug.
  13. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It seems all the best writers on amazon decided to chime in on that one.
  14. They are just sitting in my garage. I replaced them because I refurbed the speakers. New grills, veneer, etc and decided to do the crossovers too. You have a pm.
  15. I have an original pair of B crossovers that I took out of my Cornwalls when I refurbed them.

  17. I attach my wires to the slotted screws. Those posts look like the posts on my 80 Cornwalls.
  18. How about 3 from the dead... 7. Althea 8. Alice d millionaire 9. Cassidy
  19. Yes. The arbor on your saw is what you need to worry about. Most are 5/8" most blades come to fit them.
  20. You can find brands like Irwin or Freud at places like Home Depot or Lowes. You can also check out Rockler for some nice blades including dado blades.
  21. I don't have another pair of speakers to redo and I just did my Cornwalls. I still read that entire thread. I love seeing the steps taken to bring these back to life!
  22. Festool looks awesome. All of it. I bought this saw a couple years ago and have recently picked up dado blades, fine cutting blades for plywood cuts. It is really a revelation when you can ditch the circular saw and straight edge to get the right cuts. http://www.portercable.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=24027
  23. DIY stands? I've found that with a little wood or plywood and some simple measurements you can make just about everything you want/need and get it in the right size, color, etc.
