  1. You are really going to like these speakers. I've had mine for a week now and they are the real deal. Congrats! Shakey
  2. Well I haven't played them at all this week. Plan to give em some more hours this weekend.
  3. I have two thoughts/ Go with the Forte IIIs Feed them something better than a Denon amp Shakey
  4. Yes Cory and Steven are great to work with. I purchased my CW IV from them and it was a great experience for sure. On another note I have heard heavily modded forte Is and owned forte IIIs and I think the extra money is worth it. Shakey
  5. Wow what a thread. This seems like a whole lot of “who shot John” if you ask me. The funniest thing about this 15 page train wreck is that someone would pay 13K (plus tax!) for a pair of speakers and put them on either side of that big ole honking piece of 80s furniture. Before digital eq, room correction, or any other crap I would have gotten rid of that eyesore post haste. It’s not doing you any favors, sonically. I agree with others here, let em go to another owner. And fix your room before the next pair rolls in. Shakey
  6. Of course you get all the ubiquitous "wire = wire" answers here. Nothing shocking and actually quite predictable. I recommend going to ebay and looking for the Western Electric speaker cables with the cloth outer jacket. Stranded tinned copper. Very cheap and very good. Shakey
  7. I would put them on the 19 ft wall if you can. That should work pretty good. On another note, I bought crossovers from Bob and was not impressed with the improvement over the 40+ yr old original ones. Then I purchased a set of Volti Audio crossovers and was very happy with the sound. My intention is not to disparage Bob or the work he does, he is truly a great asset to the klipsch community. I just think there are better performing networks out there, even if they aren't perceived as a good value. Shakey
  8. FWIW, depending on how big your room is, you may not come to favor the khorns over the CW. I very much enjoyed my khorns when I had them, but my 15 ft wide room meant that I could never get the position just right. I was either too close in order to be on axis or I was too far away and the soundstage was one dimensional. I just took delivery of a pair of Cornwall IVs and already I am happier with them than with the klipschorns. Now granted, I can’t say how much better they are than the IIIs, but they are faaaar better than the IIs. If my room had been about five feet wider I might not have given up on the khorns. YMMV Shakey
  9. Thanks for all the replies. I have about 15 or so hours on them now and things are indeed improving. Shakey
  10. Does anyone have experience with the CW IV and how many hours they need? Mine sound a little tight and bright with only a dozen or so hours on them?
  11. I will finally get to hear my pair of CW IVs tomorrow night, you got me salivating now........ Shakey
  12. If you have a Tidal or Quobuz subscription you can always download files in lossless or hi res to your phone and stream it from there using a wired connection. I do this when I travel to someplace that doesn’t have WiFi. Use Bluetooth if you have to, if it’s just a garage system for background music you probably won’t notice the difference in sound quality. Shakey
  13. Well I have to say the spatials are sold and boxed and ready to ship on Friday. I don’t usually do it that way, but I guess my faith in the CW IV is pretty strong. We will see. Shakey
  14. Bluetooth and sound quality probably shouldn’t appear in the same sentence together unless terrible is mentioned in there somewhere........ Shakey
  15. Mine will be delivered Tuesday, but i am out of town til friday. Can't wait to hear em. Shakey
  16. Man the prices of used cornwalls have really crept up. I bought a pair of 1987 CW IIs about 6 or 7 years ago for 600.00. They were in great condition with the exception of a drink ring on top of one speaker. I know I lucked out at that price, but now you routinely see them for 1500.00. Shakey
  17. Just placed my order for a pair in walnut. Really looking forward to it. Shakey
  18. Tuesday bump. Cmon guys, somebody out there needs a nice new rack......... Shakey
  19. Well I don’t equate sound quality with wpc or how much something weighs. I e heard those onkyos so that’s what I go with.
  20. Looks nice, congrats. Now please feed them something other than that Onkyo...... Shakey
  21. Bump. And I will lower the price of the rack to 300.00 for a local sale. Shakey
  22. have for sale a VTI BL 503 rack which is very handsome with cherry shelves and silver frame/poles/end caps. I have had this rack literally two weeks, so it is in new condition. I have decided to go a different way in my music room, hence the sale. Local pick up or I can meet a reasonable distance to 24502. I also have the matching amp stand that is new as well. Retail price is 600.00 and my asking price is 375.00
