  1. I assume you are asking if it has the ability to be turned on from an external device, such as your preamp. No it does not. We have an accessory for this purpose. The RPC-120 It is an AC filtration and system on/off control with 2 unswitched and 4 switched outlets. http://www.klipsch.com/mondial/index2.asp?path=/products/mondialdetail.asp?frame=y&id=310&line=mondial&1
  2. '77 Klipschorn mains, La Scala center, KSP-S6 side surrounds, temporary SC-1 back center. Denon AVR-3801 (soon to be Aragon Stage One) Amps used; Aragon 8008X3 for the front three, 2 Denon POA-2800 200x2 for the surrounds and subs. Also; '81 Cornwalls, KG-3's, KSB 2.1s and 1.1s, SS-1s
  3. I have been using KSP-S6's with my Klipschorn mains for the past 2 1/2 years. They seem to match very well.Tonal balance is very good. The Hope HT used Heresy surrounds. 2 on each side wall, 2 in each corner and 2 on the back wall for a total of 8. They were configured as 4 per channel. The Klipschorns were not being used for the HT. They were only played to compare them the Jubilees. The center was a Belle The system sounded great. Check the attachment
  4. Ed, very nice. You've done an outstanding job with the room. When time allows, Becky and I will have to come back down. This I have got to hear. I am still playing with the position of my K-Horns. Where is the cross over point? It looks to be a bit in front of the seating position.
  5. The squawker lens is a Speaker Lab, fiberglass clone.
  6. It may be in the set up of your DVD player. Check there to see if you have dts activated. I have my 3801 set to -7 on my mains because they over power my surrounds.
  7. Alan, I tried a Heresy center for a while. It is a bit "small" between two Klipschorns, but is a very good match. Still the squawker was the down side. I modified it using a K-401 horn on top of the Heresy using a modified AA network.I then tried the E Heresy network as the woofer just could not keep up. While this was better, I still was not completely happy. Then I found an old La Scala LF section and added a top to it. It is upside down on the RPTV.At 99 lbs it is OK so far, but I will add some bracing if I notice any sag. I keep am keeping an eye on it. Had to grill cloth the whole thing as it will need some veneer work. My quest for the perfect center is over. Try a Heresy, you may be happy with it, mine was OK for a year, but was looking hard for a Belle or LS. The LS is it If you have the room for it
  8. JM, I hope you aren't thinking the short LS in the picture is what we are using or found. The LF of the Runt is about 12" tall. I have the normal LF section from a La Scala, but the whole thing 32 1/2 inches tall instead of 35 1/2. Mystery Guest used it as a referece to show how the K77 and K-401 were mounted. Hi John, here alot, just don't have time to post much. Settling in fine, I will post pics of the "new" HT soon, the Horns are a bit sad. They don't have coners yet and we are in a rental house.I added "sides"to them as the pro K-Horn used back some time ago. They naturaly don't go down as low, the subs help.Nothing like Heritage HT.
  9. 1. What Heritage speakers have you owned, currently own, or want to own? '75 Heresy,'77 Klipschorns,'81 Cornwalls and 1 LF section of a La Scala, year unknown(new center channel) 2. What was your age when you first purchased a Heritage series loudspeaker? 26 3. What is your current age? 51 4. Why did you choose Heritage loudspeakers over another Klipsch model? First listened to a pair of '73 Klipschorns about 1977, love at first listen! 5. If you currently own some Heritage loudspeakers, and could purchase some more Klipsch speakers(new or used), which ones would you purchase? Why? New; RF-5 or RF-3 II. Have had the chance to listen to them a lot. While not a Heritage in sound, they are an excellent sounding speaker. Used; KLF-20. All of theses speakers are very musical, nice midrange. 6. Do you think the upcoming Jubilee should become part of the "Heritage" line, since it was also designed by PWK? Yes, as a tribute to Paul, not to replace the Klipschorn. But then I believe it would be in a class of it's own.
  10. I agree with boa12's last post. I bought the Haunting dts ES after selling the DD EX version. The ES discret version was more realistic to me and my wife. I have KSP-S6 side surrounds and when I went to 6.1 I tried first one IW-150, which is a direct radiating speaker. Wasn't enough, so I added one more. I had the chance to get 2 KSP-S6's. I mounted them in the same location as the in-walls, same hight as the side surrounds, 6 feet to the bottom. The seating in my room was in the middle of a 26'foot deep room at about 12 feet from the TV. I was much happier with the direct radiating than the WDST KSP-S6. The WDST seemed to scater the sound too much and actually took away from the affect. I have spoken with others that have felt the same. You will need to try both ways before you will actualy know for sure. Good luck
  11. I guess I should add that I like DVD concerts, if they are mixed right in 6.1. For 2 channel music I go with just 2 channel, Direct. I like the"being there" you get with 6.1, but only with a live performance. avman, before I got my 3801, I used a Denon 2800 and fed my older Denon AVR 2000 prologic from the rear outs.Set the pro to 3 channel logic and it did a very good job at matrixed 6.1.
  12. I leave my system in forced matrix 6.1 all the time. Unless it's dts es discret, it's matrix. I just prefer the added fill it gives.
  13. Dino T, I use SS-1s in my bedroom HT, together with KSB 2.1 and a SC-1 center. The KSB was replaced by the Synergy SB and are a very nice match.
  14. Hey Doug, I will agree with avman. I used the AV outs of a B&K pre once to feed everything to my bedroom. 75 feet of RG-6 under the house for L&R audio and single video. Picture looked as good there as the source and audio sounded just fine. I use RG-6 based 8 mil double shielded coax for my interconnects. Radio Shack used to sell it in 6' lengths. Worked very good for video before I went to S, now I use it for audio
  15. My 77 Klipschorns and 75 Heresy center have the PWK original
  16. I'll be more careful with the razor in the future. Big change to go from T-shirt and jeans to dress pants, shirt and tie, . While my solution worked for me at the time, I do plan on some changes when I find a new home up here in Indy. If I look long enough maybe I'll find the "right"room. My wife has full control over how the rest of the house will be laid out,the livingroom or family room is mine. The one thing I was going for was for nothing to block the path and that was the built in approach.A flat wall for the Klipschorns to sing.
  17. Can anyone tell me what this is? I know,so I'm not looking for the answer Sorry the picture isn't that clear, was taken at night. There are 4 K-55-Ms on the squawker. By the way they are up here now.Whatever that is in the picture. And they sound wonderful. HDBR,do you know who they belong to?
  18. John B, click on the little house below(between PM & search) to see what I did with my Klipschorns. You don't seem to have the room I had, but it's an idea. Before the false wall were built the K-Horns were against the side walls but out even with my equipment cabinets. The bass was there. It was just firing into the open space along the back wall.I was suprised at the amount of bass that was there. They were much better tight into the "new"corners. They were powered by a Denon POA-2800 200X2 amp with great success. By the way,the seller interested in parting with his Cornwalls? Not that I need another pair, but..........
  19. Becky and I were deeply saddened by Paul's passing.Even when you are aware that it is coming, it still doesn't make it any easier. He is in a far better place now. Becky and I will always cherish the times we got to spend with him, just talking about what ever came to mind. Audio was just a tip of the knowlage this wonderful man had.A true genius that few in this world can claim. A Legend that will be remembered and never forgotten
  20. Click the little house below. I was using only one Heresy center, but it was modified using a K-401 K-Horn squawker w/modified AA network. The La Scalas would have been better for surrounds, but the 4 KSP-S6's were nice. Was using the 3801, but with seperate Denon POA-2800 power amps.Loud? Well ya ,quality..... Sound? Wonderful, just remeber, if it sounds great with music, it will sound great for HT Go for it,you will be glad you did.
  21. Well I took my link out of my signature, but you can still click the the little house below and see what I had.It is in pieces now.Part of it is here with me in Indy.My Cornwalls are here in one of our listening rooms. I have listened to different brands of receivers and amps for many years. I must say that I am impressed with Aragon.I have always wanted the 8008 BB and now I wish I had bought one long ago.To my ears........well.........I know what my new system will be,not because I work here, but because I have finally had the opportunity to listen to Aragon. ------------------ Stephen Phillips Mondial Designs
