well here is some pics of one K-Horn almost done. Still needs grill but looking good. Rick..well i cant seem to get pics to load can someone help me out??
If it says input plus and minus thats where your amp wires go,,,just find a screw that fits at hardware store or allen head bolts, thats what use. They probably lost the screw unhooking wires no biggy...Rick
Can you provide a close up picture? I think wood workers supply might have this stuff it looks close to me in catalog, does anyone else know if it is? Rick
I got one of those years ago but i got med. size and now it wont fit,,lol,,back then i was real skinny but after years of hard factory work it wont fit.I wished i had got a large one back then but it is cool.Rick
Well i got a cd/dvd cleaner from wa-mart didnt fix a dvd i had then i read on forum to try toothpaste. Makes it look bad but it works now, toothpaste gives it a dull haze ...guy at work said car wax worked for him i have not tried that yet...Rick
Did you know one of the Doobie Brothers is a self taught expert in missle defense rockets and a consultant to the defense dept.. I like the Doobie Brothers songs you should give them a listen. Rick
If you got your Scalas on hard smooth floor ,try grippers on the bottom take the sliders off the factory put on there and place grippers there. It seemed to make mine sound alot better but i didnt A-B them cause i was in a hurry to get the grippers on.Rick
Im doing some K-horns right now when im done will let you know if i have enough for some heresys. But you can order the cloth from Dura Crest Fabrics ask for Ralph 708-344-4900 #17 black is the exact one. But if you want to wait a bit im in the middle of reveneering my Ks and im sure i will have some left over i will let you have it real cheap. I ordered way to much at first but didnt think i was ever going to find a pair of K-Horns. Rick
Also did you see my post on airtight bass bin,,,the ones i got are 1972 and in the process of fixing them up i tested the airtightness of the chamber it had leaks that i fixed im sure more out there have leaks to. There are a lot of joints in a K-Horn and dont take much to make a leak. Rick
Just seal top of the bass bin part not horn section,,,and the grippers are round in different sizes,,,,Rick it says Grippers right on package cant miss them
Hey Rudy you might try what Andy got me to try and has done to K-Horns to, on a smooth floor use those grippers from wal-mart i did on my LaScalas and wow,,,much better. Andy said they installed some Ks in a home with the grippers on them and had Paul come by give them a listen he said ,,now thats the way they should sound...but you do need to seal tailboards and the horz. section of bass bin the top part to the wall. I think a lot of us dont take time to set them up right with all the seals.I already got grippers on the ones im working on...if i ever get them done i will let you all know Rick
Are these brand new K-Horns?? if so Klipsch should send you two new seals i think and im sure they would....Rick ps can you get a pic of these im trying to decide on what to use on mine when im done re-veneering them
Yep looks brand new,,,but if someone is close i would send them the money and go pick up and pay at same time,,,,kinda sounds funny in the add,,,,just my feeling...Rick ps those have top grills so they were more expensive than stock ones,,,
I would use the money your going to use to buy the other speakers and buy used Heresys not that hard to find Heresys worth the money on E-bay. You may not like the mix and have to buy Heresys anyway. Just a thought Rick
I dont think glue will soak through at all if you spray the wood it is attached to,,,if you have not tryed glue method dont knock it...why use all those staples when the spray glue is easier and faster Rick
You have to take it out through the woofer hole easy to do ,i would still wait on doing diaphrams i think its the wiring if it sounded ok one day and the next day different...Rick
