  1. I turn all mine on like Andy..HDBR..said to...power up with speakers off for atleast a minute then turn speakers on...then to turn off ...turn speakers off for a minute then power off.None of my 430s hum at all and with volume all the way down very quiet.Rick
  2. When you take a reciever in for repair or tune up do they go through the whole thing or just fix whats not working? I got several HKs i would like tuned up they seem to work fine except one goes in and out of stereo mode.I just got a HK930 and it has a little more noise when volume is turned off ..more than the HK430.Anyone work at a repair shop? Thanks Rick
  3. Get the building inspector out there this is not going to hold the weight of the house.Basement walls should be concrete ..not block walls. Are there other houses in your area with block wall basements?I would say run away from this builder and run fast.Rick
  4. If the Heresys are working right i would try HK 430 from the 70s but if you have to buy new alot of guys have bought new HKs here to.rick
  5. You need to get new Caps from BEC and rebuild the crossovers easy to do , also do you have the K-Horns sealed into the corner? You said you checked the crossovers screws but did you unscrew then tighten them down could be bad conection still. As far as the year of yours go i found air leaks in the bass bin...small ones but still there..i sealed them up and checked bass bin with air pressure without woofer in it...they are sealed tight now.You might want to unscrew the mid range driver and make sure there is nothing in the throat of the horn....i replaced that washer in there on mine to.Well hope this helps a little bit, Rick
  6. Well just replace the inside part it is easy to do,i just wanted you to try the sprayer idea first but the part you need is alot less than a new faucet and easier to put in if you ask me.Rick
  7. Yes i think you un-screw the sprayer head and tap, clean it out. There is presure to the sprayer all the time the lever just lets it out .In other words if you could pinch the sprayer hose water should come out the faucet then. Rick
  8. The spacer is 1 5/8 back and the top horn section is 5/8 back from the bass binn so there are different ones out there it looks like. But when i did some research on it this is what most are.I also think Andy said they used scrap wood for the spacer so its 3/4 inch spacer it would be foolish to buy 1 inch wood for that spacer when they got all this scrap around.Rick
  9. Accent Sound in Leawood,Kan....KC,MO area, just moved to a bigger store and in a high end area, Klipsch should see about setting up Heritage speakers in that store.I work at high end bike shop and they spend 2000 on bikes in that area. If you even set up a Heresy HT it would show most people what a real HT should sound like.Just a thought Rick
  10. Did you check the wiring inside the speaker? Switch the wires going to the speakers?Just a thought.Rick
  11. Saaaweeeeet...since you do this very well what type of glue do you use on your veneer.I used contact cement on my K-Horn project some have used the glue method with iron. But your project is looking good.Rick
  12. Hi funkyhambone???well i bought some 1974 Ks and in the process of restorng them i found a lot of airleaks in the bass bin so that may be why he needed to recone. So you may have to check the bass bin and seal it up easy to do though.rick
  13. Try checking the all the connections on the crossovers and check the tweeters with ohm meter.Rick
  14. Do you have them sealed in to the corners? The tailboards need to sealed to the wall. Not sure about the high freq. sound problem maybe the tweeters are blown easy to check though. Rick
  15. Parts exspress has some big wire eyelet type connectors that accept big wire and also fit the AA crossovers part number 095-663 they are great...Rick
  16. I would do what i did, find a pair in need of alot of care and fix them up you will be proud of them and saving them from the wood pile.I learned alot about them like how to make bass bin air tight, rebuild crossovers with help from AL,Bob, on here.I learned how to veneer i changed a pair of style Cs to a pair of style Bs.But if i had the money i would have got oiled oak cause i like the oak look but those would have cost around 2500 and shipping to.The year i would try to look for would be 1980 or if i was rich just order new ones someone has to buy new ones to keep Klipsch workers busy i did buy new Scalas in 1980 nothing like brand new look, smell huh.Rick
  17. Hi i live near KC,MO would you be willing to pick up i have a pair of oiled oak Cornwall 2s in perfect condition e-mail me if your interested.Rick
  18. Hi did you ever figure out what was causing your overheating problem???Rick
  19. You might try Debbie Davies...Robert Cray...Johnny Taylor,,,Joss Stone...a few i like to listen to.Rick
  20. Huh...so am i still wrong...lol,,,looks like i was right...But you may not need to cut it off to make the seal into the corner.Rick
  21. Looks like you need to cut that point off the back corner so the tailboards will sit tight into your corner.Looks wrong to me...rick
  22. Looks like you need to cut that point off the back corner so the tailboards will sit tight into your corner.Looks wrong to me...rick
  23. I think the Scala sounds better than the Belle if you A-B them.Rick
  24. Sounds like a good home theater to me,,,popping could be anything the reciever,,,lights,,,,need more information to tell..Rick
