  1. Very cool, what is the story on this?
  2. Sorry for the double post. Apparently I don't know how to delete one.
  3. No relation. Photos don't show the black formica covering, but the seller says they look nice. http://omaha.craigslist.org/ele/5209192889.html
  4. No relation. Seller states he does not have original boxes. http://omaha.craigslist.org/ele/5205089255.html
  5. I have and still use these, though I use them in an office setting-to disperse sound without being too directional-kind of background, camouflage. That whole first THX system was awesome, I still use the rest of it also for various uses.
  6. I guess this would qualify as a "project". Not related to this in any way. http://omaha.craigslist.org/ele/5180712914.html
  7. Paid $800 for a pristine pair of 1977 Cornwalls last year in Tucson. i thought it very fair. I'd pay a couple of hundred more personally for Walnut if they were really nice. Still love them though.
  8. No affiliation, just passing it on. http://omaha.craigslist.org/ele/5181884489.html
  9. I have an exact but slightly older set. Can't say enough about how much I like them-though I'm hankering to try some Chorus II's as well. I bought the new crossovers but haven't been moved to install them, as I just can't imagine from my listening thus far that it could get better. When I retire (in 139 days, but who's counting?), I'll probably do some experimentation that may well convince me to upgrade the XOs. Till then, I remained amazed with the stock version.
  10. Have to say, I am particularly fond of that vintage desk....brings back lots of memories.... Aerojet surplus sales just a few miles away, if you know this desk, you sir, have some time at one, my respect. I also spent time at a desk like that during that disagreement in SE Asia. Just as soon forget it-but I never will.
  11. Yes, those are the CW's I'm speaking of. Waiting to hear back from the owner who doesn't check email often.
  12. Circles on top of speakers seem to be a popular option. I have Cornwalls already as well. 77 vintage and I love them, finding a spot for the second set might be problematic but they seem to be searching for a new home.
  13. Mark; Thanks, like I said I don't have photos to share yet, but the ones I've seen look very nice. I actually like the looks a lot, but I have to drive a couple of hours to see them. I agree on the price-and he will need to get real on that-but he's had them for sale for a while. On the other hand he is the original owner which I like.
  14. I don't have photos to share and have to drive a couple of hours to see these, but they look nice (in photos I've seen) with the exceptions that the caps are pushed in-seems to happen when speakers are used without (or don't come with) grilles. In any event, are these desirable, marketable. I would have to purchase a couple of other items as a package to get them. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  15. People are a lot more dangerous. I raised these as a kid and those are the happiest memories I have from my youth. We live in a suburban wooded area, three fawns born in the back yard this year as most. Racoons are gregarious and fun and can be licensed as pets in some states. I always put out sweet corn for them this time of year. They make a big mess of shucking it as well as enjoying it. There are better battles to be fought.
  16. Advertised at $275.00 when I hesitated he started yelling (screaming actually) that he was completely "non-negotiable" and would accept "not a penny less" than $250.00. Then stormed off into the back room, etc. You kind of had to be there to get the full effect. Maybe the price will go down, I doubt I'd take them at any price however. For another $100 or so, I can find much better Heresies, as they generally go for around $400 in these parts when all is said and done. And truth be told, I just don't need them anyway, just had to check them out-I wouldn't display this particular set in a root cellar.
  17. Yes. They are the same. Somebody may have a use for them. Just not me.
  18. I did go see them and could have purchased them. But they were beat up almost beyond recognition, he might or might not have the grills at his house which was somewhere else. They had only scraps of labels left. Also had stapled to the back a repair ticket from a source not generally known for their good work on vintage electronics. The bottoms were worse than the tops. But mostly I felt like this was someone I didn't want to either know or do business with. Walked away. Thanks for the input from everyone though.
  19. I see a really cheap pair of Heresies today on CL. Terrible gouges on top of at least one cab. Is it feasible to remove everything and rotate the cabs so that the bottom becomes the top? What would be involved? I don't need them really, but at the price, it might be an interesting project.
  20. I suggest rethinking the proposition. I sold my snow blower and mower. Right up there with the happiest days of my life. I hear that some people "like" mowing and blowing snow". I guess I believe it. Good luck in any event.
  21. Grateful Dead Jefferson Airplane George Thorogood Nell Young ZZ Top
  22. It was amazing, both in the theatre, and on PPV. The Rhythm Devils let it all go last night-drumming beyond "The Edge of Magic" to actual magic. Everyone was up to what must have been an incredible and fitting end to the era of "The Dead" as a live band. Deadheads are still everywhere and will be for many years to come. Not music for everyone, but for those of us fortunate enough to enjoy it-these last three concerts met and exceeded expectations. Fare Thee Well indeed!
  23. I went to our new neighborhood Chipotle today. See attached image if it worked. Sure enough, looks like Heresy in the high wall. Pretty subliminal marketing if that is the intention. Actually think they need a third in the space they have designed. They got a little nervous when I started taking photos of their new operation.
