  1. I bought 2 pair of these for $250.00 combined.
  2. There is a place on Long Island that sells all older Klipsch Lines and others as well as todays models. I got his number directly from Klipsch. They told me he is the closest place they know of that does the older/high end lines of Klipsch Lines.
  3. Same here, right before the end of the year I was told.

If the 805 is working, keep it and run it, it will give you more power than the 636,unless you are looking to do Atmos. The 636 if I'm not mistaken is only 90-100 watts per channel, and the 805 is probably about 130 watts per channel. The older receiver will give you more cleaner sound at higher levels and won't clip as quick as the 636. Your speakers again can be adjusted by going into the level side of the mic setup after it's done to adjust the output sound so it's louder and bass can thump more. Just make sure you adjust all the same amount and write down the levels before changing them. Those speakers are beasts, so once you cross them over, raise your levels and that will give you more pop in them. Also adjust the compression and go into the bass and treble settings as well. I also like a deep bass and crisp highs, so I was using the "light" setting on the compression with mine.

It's more towards the models over the past 5 years as they have issues with their HDMI Boards failing and continuing to fail even after fixing them. The issue was with the way they were made with cheap parts. I've had 3 in the past 2 years and all of them went bad, with 2 of them going bad after they were fixed. If the speakers sound a little low, try raising the "level" on them from the receiver to gain a little more "loudness" from them. If the receiver is working fine, don't fix what's broken. My personal preference is not to buy them again due to my issues, but that doesn't mean you will have them. The TX-NR 609,709,809,929,616,626 were a few models with the issue.Try moving your speakers around the room or pigeon toe them in so they come right at your ears with the tweeters, or just past your ears.
  6. Unfortunately sometimes it can't happen and is a matter of them living or not.
  7. My comments that were made also may not have gotten across like I wanted them to after re-reading them, but my point is this, we have gotten away from looking at our neighbors as just that-neighbors. It used to be neighbors watched each other's kids, would say something to everyone's kids if they did something wrong and the child or children would obey as they were their elders. People respected one another and went out of their way to lend a helping hand. Now look at today and the way people keep to themselves and are almost "hiding" from one another. And that's where my point comes down to the Liberal mentality of shoving down our throats what has been shoved down them for the past 20 plus years. It has made people stay away from each other and everyone's mentality today is to not trust your neighbor, including police, emt, and other people in those fields. I have 7 relatives that are cops, and about 30-40 friends that are cops. I grew up in Jersey City where in certain neighborhoods the police stopped going to them on calls as when they did, people threw refrigerators and washing machines off the roof tops and several cops were killed. Then the only people who would go were the fire department, then only EMT's. it got so bad that they tore down those buildings due to this. Fast forward to this past summer, a black person goes into a store and bum rushes the armed guard who was also black and takes his gun, police get called and as they are pulling up he steps outside and shoots the cop who was hispanic in the head before he even gets out of his car,kid dies immediately. 2nd cop also gets shot, perp gets killed and his wife goes on T.V. in an interview saying her husband should have killed more than those 2 pigs. Then we get blacks threatening to kill more white cops and the Black Panthers get involved with it also. There wasn't any marches going on, there weren't any activists getting involved and it was swept under the carpet. Why would any cop want to "take the time" in a not so good neighborhood to assess a situation?Thisn person should not have been killed in my opinion. Now go back to my comments and pick up on them from where I left off, and my rant makes more sense. The issue again is the government has forced people to stop being people 1st,and to act as a shoot 1st ask 2nd mentality. Which is wrong, but will continue to be like this due to the administration in office and the past administration. They (meaning both parties) have driven a wedge in between people to make us this way and will continue to do so. To say this isn't political in my opinion is not correct,it is in my view due to where I grew up, how I grew up, and what I have seen personally. My police friends have also stated that their hands have been tied due to these political adjustments and that it makes them not even want to continue their career due to this. And when you get a person who is very young and has only grown up in this type of environment, they are going to act out the way they do, whether right or wrong as they are a product of their environment.
  8. How much are the RB's going for? You may want to instead go for a set of RB-41's on Ebay for $199.00 with free shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-RB-41-II-Black-Pr-Open-Box-2-Way-Bookshelf-Speakers-/201209688671?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item2ed908325f They will match up better with the rc 42 than the others. The titanium tweeters should stay with each other as the main sound stage, and use the SB-3's as surrounds. If you do go with the new line,I would use the C-1 as the center channel instead and either set as the mains l/r and surrounds and forget the 42. The Reference line with the 42's is a better system than the Best Buy Reference line. It's the ICON/Synergy line reboxed with a new "paint job". If going with Aluminum tweeters, try to stay with aluminum, titanium/titanium, and so on. The Titanium will give a brighter sound than the Aluminum. I have Icon (Aluminum tweeter), Reference (Titanium tweeter), and Synergy (silk dome tweeter) lines of Klipsch, and they all have their place depending on your musical tastes. If in a smaller set up as yours, the bookshelfs will be fine with a sub if you have one.
  9. Mark, The pricing for the towers isn't a bad price and for these speakers in my opinion is about right and a good deal. The tower speakers are your left and right mains, the sc-1 is the center channel, and the r-15's are surround. That will give you a 5.1 with the sub hooked up. If you take those Bose that are in the wall already, you can use them as "front height" speakers to give a little more "fullness" to the room. Your receiver can run as a 5 channel set up or a 7 channel set up. the 0.1 is for the sub woofer. So in your instance when you do the YPAO set up it will ask how many channels you want to run.If you don't use the Bose speakers it will be a 5 channel setup, and if you do use those for front effect sound it will be a 7 channel set up.The Bose will not be "matched" to the Klipsch, but as front effects it isn't as important as the front/center set up is as that's where most dialogue and sound field is coming from along with your sub for your lows. Try it both ways for sound to see what you like best, worst case you can sell the Bose on Craigs List or Ebay to get another set of the r-15's to match the system. Your YPAO mic is going to set the speakers at a "level" and that level can be adjusted up or down. The sound may sound a little "low" after doing the set up which is normal. I would adjust the "level" on each speaker up so that it raises the overall volume "louder" about 4 to 5 db for each speaker.Just make sure they are adjusted the same for each speaker as it will negate what the mic did if not done equally.Again it comes to personal preference but you will notice a difference with volume control on the receiver.Try doing it several times if needed and remember to write down the levels on each one and then pick the level that sounds best to you. 10. Mark, Welcome to the forum. I am also a newbie. It should be a good match timbre wise as they both use Aluminum tweeters. My setup in my family room is using the KF 28's which are basically the R-28's repainted. I also use the Synergy C-20 for my center channel, KS-14'S for surrounds and front effects, and KB-15's for rear surrounds. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the 28's and what is the C-1 running you? The c-1 will be fine with the Yamaha receiver and depending on how loud you listen to things, should be fine with the 28's unless extended loud listening which could make it "clip" and have either music or movies not sound as full in the listening area. Others on here will not fully agree on wattage, but there will be a difference. I had the Yamaha RX-V675 and upgraded to a 140 watt per channel Yamaha RX-A2020 receiver and definitely can hear the difference. The sound is definitely fuller in my room (which is 14x22) and I don't use an external amp with my setup. Some on here will also tell you to return these as there are a few outside dealers who can give you a better speaker for about the same price, which if you can is not a bad idea. I have an older reference series set up and they are definitely better sounding due to the tweeters being titanium, and the woofers also being a better woofer as they are cerametalic. But these speakers you have are also not bad for movies and depending on the music type are decent. Just play around with your setup and move the speakers around to get the best sound you can. The one thing I learned immediately on here was timbre matching, and speaker placement.Speakers most likely will sound better when the tweeters are aimed at your ears or just to the side of them.At least that's what happened with mine. The other thing I learned immediately is that Best Buy does not really educate us consumers on what will be the best way to go about setting up our systems. I also called Klipsch and Yamaha directly for pointers as well as on here. Are you doing just a 5.1 setup, or going for a 7.1?
  11. The overall problem is that we have allowed the government, and these left winged Liberals to abuse their powers and dictate to us what we can and can't do as parents raising our kids. Overall we can't discipline our kids so that they learn respect for others and don't have the I'm owed mentality. They don't fear police or anyone for the matter in society and will do whatever they want, and the people who run this country now force upon us to accept everyone for what they are,no matter what and if we don't we are bad people and bad parents and the state will step in and do what they want. Now as for people who may have an issue mentally, there is no help for them due to the same mentioned where the Liberal has forced us to accept them as "different" to be PC, instead of "sick" and in need of "care". We pump meds in them to keep the corps lining the pockets of said representatives happy, instead of helping with their issue. So these people walk around doped up from their meds without having these so called doctors really getting to know their patients and their needs because it's easier to make them "zombies" while getting paid to write these scrips so big corps can continue making money to donate to these lifetime reps in congress. There is no taking responsibility for ones actions anymore as we have let these reps take that out of our hands. Just my opinion. The person getting shot could have had a million different things done, but unless we were there to see what was happening, will not get the full story of what really happened, there will always be 3 sides to a story. And the videos we do see from everyone in today's society never show the actual truth, just the truth based on their feelings and the way they edit them. I'm sure there was at least 10-15 different videos taken by bystanders and every one of them had a different view on things. Some people will say the person calling shouldn't have said what he said, some will agree he did correct, some will say the police were wrong, some will agree with them. Either way it's a travesty we've gotten to this point and it's due to the government, no one else.

    cancel

How do I do that? I tried cancelling the post but it wouldn't let me.
  13. did you at least score on the chair?
  14. Until us uncool kids with the lower level Klipsch lines get picked on by the "jock" Klipsch guys, lol.
  15. I've seen them by me for $260.00, but they were also in black not rosewood. Those are also the KSF, not KLF. One is Synergy, one is Legend Series. You can get a set of the KSF-10.5,AND 8.5 combined on Ebay for the same price as those rosewood speakers.
  16. Those could be S-3's, picture is taken from the side, and you can see where 1 tweeter and sub could be. I have S-3's.
  17. Try Sade and Barry White on it, not bad either
  18. 3 in 1 oil may help clean up the rust slowly and very lightly using it, without seeing pictures. If you are repainting the top which I am assuming is black, you can use appliance paint on it and use an attached portable sprayer. I've done that to a few of my components and you can't tell the difference.
  19. The KLF 30'S I'VE SEEN ARE AROUND $500-750 IN GOOD CONDITION, THE 20'S ARE $380-500, AND THE 10'S ARE $100-350.If they aren't local and shipping is done, that's where the issue is going to come in.It may cost as much to ship as the cost of the speakers themselves. It will come down to finding rear surrounds and front effects speakers if you run more than 5.1 that will be an issue for you, the others are somewhat available. The rattling if it does happen is a very easy fix and I would do both if the issue does arrise on one of them.

    Yamaha rxv573

you'll be getting 50% more power out of the receiver and from my personal experience it does make a difference at higher levels, but I'm no expert. The speakers again from today are not as efficient as speakers from even 10-15 years ago. They will need more power at higher levels.
  21. I have 1 in front and 1 behind me and they shake the room with no issues. On both setups, 1 with Audyssey and 1 with YPAO. The one in the family room is set up so they are facing each other, and the one in living room had to have them face different angles for sound. Are you running them stereo, rear and front, or mono?
