  1. Congratulations! I knew they wouldn’t last long.
  2. Too bad you’re not closer. Good luck with your sale!
  3. I have owned this setup in the past minus the active crossover and can say without a doubt that there is not much out there that can come close to besting this setup.
  4. I’ve also had MWM’s in a small room. MWM bass is very nice, no matter what size the room.
  5. I just wanted to comment on the speaker transaction last night. The forum member and her husband basically drove 2 days straight by the time they made it to my place to pick up the speakers. She told me they were picking up a vehicle and stopping to get the speakers on the way back home. For some reason, in my head, I was thinking a used pickup or nice sedan. They arrived at my place around midnight pulling a trailer with a Ford GT-40 strapped to it. I got to see a really cool car and had a fantastic evening with them. The husband got the car and the wife got the speakers. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal!
  6. As I stated in the first sentence of my comment. I actually can’t afford to smoke anything these days. Thanks for asking though.
  7. I agree and it’s not just the economy doing this. People are finally realizing that all the above mentioned speakers sound much better than anything new at the $1,000 price point. Plus, original Heritage and extended Heritage (Chorus, Forte) are getting up there in age. The supply is just not what it once was.
  8. Prices have been up for quite sometime now. The days of $1000 La Scala’s are gone.
  9. I’m not a Cornwall expert, but I’ve never really liked the bass section in the older versions. It always seemed thick and flabby. This is just my opinion. The new Cornwall sounds much better in the bass section. I can’t really compare the new Cornwall to the Chorus because I’ve only heard the Cornwall in a showroom for around 15-20 minutes. I owned Chorus II for a long time and really liked them. Bass is very nice. I always thought they sounded best with higher wattage amps and heavy on the volume.
  10. I am not a big Cornwall fan. I’m a huge Chorus fan, both versions. I listened to the new Cornwalls at a dealer a few months ago and thought they sounded excellent. Even though they were powered by a 7-channel AVR.
  11. I see you found my thread! Good luck with your vehicle.
  12. I have the low pro blue 3 ton aluminum racing jack from Harbor Freight. I bought it on sale a few years ago and love it. Built to last and though still heavy, quite a bit lighter than the steel version.
  13. I’m surprised also. I’m really not in a hurry to sell them. I just don’t listen to them since my splits are finished. If someone comes to look at them, I’m sure they will take them home.
  14. I couldn’t find many threads with members who have actually used the JEM capacitors and reported their results.
  15. I recently had two sets of original La Scala AA crossovers recapped with JEM capacitors. I wanted to share my opinion because there is not a lot of information on the forum about them. I am in no way affiliated with JEM and was skeptical about them myself. I’m not an audiophile so my description might not be as in-depth as some would like. I did “break them in” for close to 24 hours at very low volume before I turned them up to really start listening. I’ve owned 3 sets of La Scala’s, one set had been recapped with Audyn capacitors. The two others are what I own currently. I was also sent a set of newly recapped AA’s with Audyn capacitors so I could compare them side by side. I played these at low volume for 24 hours before I started listening just like I did with the JEM caps. I first installed one AA with JEM caps in one speaker and one AA with the Audyn caps in the other. I could honestly tell a difference right away. The speaker with the JEM capacitors sounded clearer. After that experiment, I listened to both speakers with the Audyn capacitors for 3 days. Then rotated the JEM capacitors in and haven’t taken them out. The Audyn caps didn’t sound bad at all, but I much preferred the JEM capacitors for their clean and clear sound. I’ve been listening to both sets of La Scala’s for a couple months now and can say with confidence that I am really happy with the performance of the JEM capacitors. If you are on the fence like I was, try a set out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
  16. I agree. I try not to get emotionally attached to a payment service. Same with music artists or bands. I don’t agree with a lot of their personal beliefs. If I only listened to the bands I agreed with, I would have a small library to choose from.
  17. I thought that was a pretty decent deal. Those receivers sound nice on Klipsch speakers.
