  1. Looks like a fair deal. How were you using them? What did you think of their sound quality? What did you upgrade to?
  2. Congrats man! They look great.
  3. Lion killing? You mean that story about some guy that hunted a lion that the MSM is distracting the population with? That story that is on the minds of the sheep that accept MSM stories as "news" that they should be concerned about? Sorry, I've been too busy paying attention to what is REALLY going on. You know, how Hillary strides around on the presidential campaign trail when she should be in prison for lying to congress and destroying evidence that was subpoenaed, how "PP" has been illegally selling body parts of murdered children (whilst being funded by us of course), and how the Obama regime is currently trying to use the Social Security system to deny gun rights to millions of Americans.
  4. I'm on it. She could use a lil' mind manipulation these days. And lord knows I could use some words of encouragement. Thanks for the idea thebes, I'll let you know how it goes in a few days.
  5. Welcome to the forum, glad you could make it
  6. Bummer that you have to let it all go. Best of luck with you sale.
  7. I'm not running Palladiums, just regular reference series. I decided to go the affordable route and bought a spool of 12ga Monoprice http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Enhanced-Oxygen-Free-Copper-Speaker/dp/B003L14ZAQ cut it to the lengths I needed and terminated the ends with Sewell Deadbolt banana plugs http://www.amazon.com/Deadbolt-Banana-12-pair-Sewell-Direct/dp/B006U3O566/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1437586558&sr=1-1&keywords=sewell+deadbolt&pebp=1437586563329&perid=17EQDW6Q2BRV1QGJBDTV Seems to get the job done and will likely handle anything I throw through them.
  8. Excellent score! I would love a set to listen to.

    Very nice Nismo
  10. Man, if I had the funds right now I would ****** 'em up. Located in Sunnyvale, CA https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ele/5122436818.html
  11. I cannot say that I have noticed an audible difference. Perhaps when I get some good high definition audio files in the future I will do an apples to apples comparison using the conditioner and just a regular power strip. Until then, the pro is piece of mind knowing that my system is protected from any junk power that may be coming down the line. I think of it as insurance against component failure due to power spikes, surges, etc.
  12. So being a bit lazy lazy after a hard dayz work, I swapped the new preamp in, hit the low-cut button and voila! no more woofer pump. I WILL be isolating the TT in the near future though and see if I can eliminate having to use the filter. In the mean time I get to jam some old vinyl without worrying about thrashing my speakers.
  13. The turntable was sitting on a small table between the right tower and the stereo shelf, not ideal by any means. I'm going to build a platform to dampen any vibrations as you described colterphoto1. hopefully that cleans it up. If not, the new preamp is arriving today. The low-cut filter in it is rated at -3dB @ 22Hz according to their website. I also just received a Furman PL-8C power conditioner that I am going to be installing.
  14. the sl 1900 is a decent turntable. I just ordered a djpre II preamp with built in line cut filter to cut out the stuff below 20hz. people have had good results with it.
  15. it sits and spins without the stylus touching without issue. once the stylus touches the woofers will start pulsing. I've been reading around through other forums and apparently this is a very common issue. looking into finding a decent rumble filter to cure my woes. A disc washer is on the list of must haves as well.
  16. Thanks for the feedback. The turntable is a Technics sl-1900, which is a direct-ddrive unit, that my dad was really proud of when I was a kid. He spent a bit upgrading the stylus to make it better. It had been sitting on a shelf in the garage for the past 25-30 years. This model of Marantz didn't have a phono input, which is why I had to buy a pre-amp. Haven't seen any low-pass filter settings for the inputs in the menus. I will play with it some more when I get home from work.
  17. i tried a few different albums, all with the same result. While the speakers surging in and out isn't audible on it's own, it is having an effect on the music while it is playing. I am out of my realm here, any help would be appreciated.
  18. Ok so I just hooked up my dads old record player, listening to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" right now, and the sound is amazing, but my speakers are surging in and out crazily when I turn it up. They don't normally do it at loud volume and it doesn't even correspond with the music. WTF is going on?
  19. The specs on those things are confusing compared to Klipsch's specs. The original amp is rated as such: "FTC Rated Power: 260 watts continuous @ <2% THD / Dynamic Power*: 575 watts / *Dynamic power indicates the actual power this amplifier will deliver to the woofer under normal operating conditions" Whereas the Bash 300s is rated at 300w RMS So am I correct in thinking the 300w Bash is a good fit or should I opt for the 500s?
  20. Thanx guys for the tips. The 300s at parts express seem to be a good match. Only 40w higher RMS rating than the original...
  21. Hey guys, So I picked up the RF-35's and RC-35 this weekend that I found on CL. The guy threw in the RW-10 for free. I removed the amp plate and it is torched in one area. Klipsch says they do not have a replacement available. I am wondering if anyone knows of a suitable replacement, Bash brand or any that I could bring this thing back to life with? Thanks in advance!
  22. I love the "pissing off the neighbors" sign gadgtfreek. Impressive system as well.
  23. My cousin is gonna pick them up for me and I will get them from him next week. I can hardly wait. I will definitely keep y'all posted.
