I too miss the HK sound. I was a HK lifer until last year. Just had too many problems, with too many of their products. I lost track of how many avr's lost, I think 4. I still have my 2600 in the garage. I wish it had DD PLIIz I would put it in my theatre. I had their last flagship the avr3700. Although still not as good as the older ones like you had, it still had that hk sound. But it took a crap and I finally wrote them off. I would love to try out a 7550 or the 990 for two channel.

You've done a good job addressing the problem by switching the avr and the speakers and the wires. Even with the other reciever did it just come out of one channel? It sounds there may be multiple problems, or an odd one that is hard to locate - captain obvious lol. take a look on ebay for panamax 4300 pm. I just got one in excellent used conditon delivered for $92. I have seen them go for as low as $60 and as high as $250 new. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn4CZPa5VhI

These may be the op's speakers that you guys are ripping apart I hate speakers that are beat up too, but a small child can do that in about 2 minutes unsupervised. Grills on, the damage should have no effect on the sound, and they seem priced accordingly My 4 year old has never seen the grills come off, just for that reason.

You will hear people talk about a break in period fo new speakers also. Some argue weather it is necessary or not, and how long. Common sense goes a long way. You may be able to hook up your new speakers and turn them straight up to 11. But I tend to ease into it. But after I've listened to them a short time(10-15hour), I'll crank it up any time I want as mloud as I want.

I think a lot of the ones that hit the secondary market have been mistreated over the years, by owner or their children. We all want that perfect set of used speakers, well at least I do. Problem is when a guy puts his "mint" grade speakers for sale, people offer comparable prices to the damaged speakers that are listed or have sold. Maybe the ones that hit the seconadry market are being sold for the reason that they do have cosmetic damage. As for the color of the woofers, what color would you describe them as beside copper?

If they do release a 7iii, and you had the option. The cost of buying the ii would be far less! I would guess a new 7iii pair would probably run +/- $4k new, where you could get a set of ii's for roughly $2k or less. If you had the option presented to you would you spend the extra $2k for the newer line?

I have the 7ii's, love them. 3 Large coppers would just give me a reason to get the upgrade bug back. The rf7ii's took that away from me. Can't a guy dream

Klipsch updated everything from the ii to the reference premier line except the rf7ii. I'm not sure why either. Maybe they had a surplus of inventory that they figured if they put out a new 7, the old would be selling for less. Or maybe the improvements to the 7's were not enough to warrant an updated model at this point. I still want to see a 3 woofer rf7. Someone on here has a photoshopped pic of one. It would be awesome.

I think by memory of my old pioneer reciver it does work for a pioneer cd player. It's been a while though(about 20years)

There's no way I could visually block that McIntosh with a center, it's just too pretty. Does the small center keep up with the rf 7ii's? -

The bass is surprising to be honest. I really got lucky. I do have a second 112 coming tomorrow, the wife said it looked funny not having it symetrical. I said I can fix that lol. It is a monster room, it looks like I have 82's, a 110 and a 45" tv in there lol -

I'd need 10.5 points to put money on the Broncos. Not sure manning will make it out of this game alive. It would be a great story for him to play great and ride out on top, like Elway did years ago. I just don't see it happening. But hey, that's why they play the game. Looking forward to it. GO Packers!
