  1. Looking for a parts express usb measurement mic. They’ve been back ordered a while and look to stay that way for at least a few more months. Guess it doesn’t have to be parts express but definitely usb and simple to use with my MacBook.
  2. Pulled from a mono tube console, has 12ax7, 2-6v6gt, 5u4, along with the tuner tubes, all Rca/silvertone. Turned on just long enough to get sound thru 1 input, tubes glowed and no replating. That’s the extent of testing. Nice big and heavy power transformer. Only surface patina nothing significant. asking $75obo plus shipping. Make me an offer, what’s worst I can say is?..
  3. My vote is for a Restored vintage amp, el84 amps are really sweet sounding with klipsch, but they’re getting more expensive by the day. Good thing is as long as it is functioning correctly and you don’t overpay, you won’t loose money on it. You’ll probably never break even on chi-fi although it’s the cheapest to get into tubes with. Also you’ll have to know if the vintage amp will mate with a sub correctly.
  4. 4 years ago...Yep, I’m sure Jimbo is still looking for this. 🙄
  5. Not planning to run all of them at the same time...right? Just get a speaker selector switch. By the way I had stacked kg4s in my basement once powered by a Sansui g-7000, wow that was fun!
  6. Fairly reasonable for sure and SOLD!!
  7. Please post a picture of your chorus also. What mid driver are you using? I have k55v soldered lug that I plan to try in mine with treaded (k-61)? Horns. Just haven’t gotten around to it. Also I’m not 100% sure I can use the chorus xovers without making changes.
  8. First I’ve heard of these. Looking to add a subwoofer to my 2ch stereo setup with Chorus 2 as mains. Would these be a good match? Are these great with music or mainly for movies?
  9. I’ve already made it clear that it’s the black and the stain, not the type wood or the caps!

    Found

Need a good tested quiet 6d10, labeled McIntosh is a plus but not a must.
  11. Now Wuzzer you didn’t mention this before. It’s not the caps, black cabinets and birch cabinets always sound different.. Geez, I thought we were about to have a breakthrough!
  12. That’s my kinda review, good description with simple words, perfect for my simple mind. Thanks for doing that.
  13. Oh c’mon Wuzzer, take the time to replace one of the L or R speaker with the center and place some 2 channel music to appease us please! 😆 I mean “inquiring minds want to know”.
  14. These speakers look like some that the father and son team in Texas have done. They are gorgeous!
  15. Forte I recap was a big pain in the sac for me. All point to point wiring on the back of the cup unlike pcb on forte ii. I’m sure there are guys that can just replace caps on the cup but I had to rebuild everything on a piece of wood and place them in the cabinet. Don’t think that’s the issue you’re having though. Make sure all the screws are tight and none are stripped, but don’t over tighten the horn screws.

    RF 7's

Wording reads legit but price says not. Shoot worth a try tho.
  17. Were the threaded horns from the kp-301? Are you using the bolt on adapter?
  18. Ok, I actually have soldered lug k55v’s.
  19. How about the k-55v or k-55m? I have both of those on hand and the thread on adapters for the k-61 horn. Wasn’t sure if there is a crossover change necessary to use these.. on a side note I purchased another pair of chorus ii horns and drivers to install in a pair of Cornwall 1s but haven’t decided whether to go this route or go 2 way with them. Thanks, Mark
